Nah. I used to think it would be cool if Reiko turned out to be gay. But the more I thought about it, the more I preferred the writing team to focus on creating a great storyline as opposed to adding token characters. It's not Ed Boon's responsibility to represent every ethnicity and/or minority. Anyone who feels different should go out and create their own video game. Why depend on someone else to do something you're capable of doing yourself?

I agree with your points, but I had the sudden need of being nitpicky and point out that we already got physically handicaped characters on Kenshi (blind), Jax (mutilated extremities) and Kabal (assisted respiration). The fact that they make it look bad-ass doesn't mean they're not dissabled.

Everytime this is brought up it always the same pure, unadulterated garbage.

Mortal Kombat needs this or MKX needs that. It is garbage.

The next time a topic like this or MKX needs more females, or whatever Mortal Kombat needs, I wish people would just ignore it and the topic sinks to the bottom of the page and into obscurity.

People can talk about whether Reptile should be human or Lizard a hundred thousand times, and that's fine, I like that debate too, but talking about race, gender, sexual orientation of characters always elicits a lot of "oh God not this again" reaction that often seems stronger and more plentiful than the opinions for or against. Why people that don't want to talk about it can't stay away is strange, but oh well. Guess I already threw in my two cents. On to other topics!

Really? Again? I'm a gay guy, and I'm tired of this. I don't give a shit if X or Y character is gay or straight.

MK has a particular storytelling when compared to other fighting games. And I don't say that referring to the typicall "MK's story is deeper/better" thing, but I what I want is to point out the fact that character bios in MK don't actually tell you very much about the character. NRS has always given small glimpses of their story and personality, and has rather focused on what they were doing during said game. MK9 has been the one to change a bit this tradition, but compare any of this bios to the ones in SC or other games and you'll see I mean.

What's my point whit all of that? It's simple, the story in MK only tells us relevant things, so there might already be gay characters whitout we knowing it, as the sexual orientation of a character is not relevant to the game's story.

Plus, forcing this kind of things ends up with having a disgustingly stereotyped character that would do more harm than good.

Here's the thing, Mortal Kombat isn't the type of game that you want to have something be represented when it's merely going to be used for having their intestines wrapped around their neck and be used as a noose.

I don't get why there are people who wishes to see more of them be represented in a game that hasn't done anything like that in the twenty years it's been around. Would it really make that much of a difference if one character turns out gay? I doubt they'd be treated in a special manner.

I support the LGBT and such, but I don't think they need to be in every single thing to make us support them more or whatever. It's a game, I don't want politics get thrown into it because there are people out there who aren't happy that there isn't more gays in the game or specific races aren't being shown.

Or she a flamboyant gay. But not all gay or lesbian are like that some are not noticible. So i see no point and for story cut scenes it would be really pointless to have him or her state they are gay.

I've read that it can stand for both queer or questioning, at least going from queer theory books that I have read.
