If they're gona make him, I imagine they'll keep the story in tact that he was once Lin Kuei. I hope they take it a step further and say that he was Bi-Han's partner. I know it's random, but it will give him just alil bit more depth. Kuai-Lang had Smoke, Sektor had Cyrax, Bi-Han is lacking someone.

Also, the most obvious reason for defection would be to escape automation.

But we know he defected before MKI, so I doubt it had to do with the automation.

Oh, I didn't know that. Thanx. I've never played MK:Special Forces. (Thank the Elder Gods).. But now it makes it more intriguing that he was never caught. How do u catch someone who can control the very ground right? (If they go the Earth-Bending route)

Very doubtful. It was so universally panned by critics I think even most MK fans passed on it. Ed himself even indicated it was a disastrous example of use for the MK license, and that he didn't like Special Forces at all.

In general, Tremor's only appeal is that he's a ninja. And that's it. None of these rabid Tremor fanatics see anything about him past the ninja mask and the brown color - brown is a color of ninja we haven't had yet, OMG HE NEEDZ TO BE IN! This has been a hot topic on these forums for 15 years. Only a handful of people who actually played Special Forces cared about him and have been advocating to have him in the regular game series for years. As time went on and the Moral Kombat fanbase began to grow in number, mostly with kids who weren't even alive when MK1 - MK4 were in arcades, the younger fans just saw another ninja that they wanted to play with. So now here we are 15 years later, 4000 people (probably consisting mostly 10 - 13 year olds) wanting yet another ninja in the game.

I can only imagine that these same people who want Tremor in the game are probably the same ones that b*tch and moan about the fact that Ermac and Reptile don't look like ninjas anymore.

"MOAR NINJERZ! TREMOAR!" -- 4000 idiots who signed that petition.

This is why I cannot ever respect the MK fanbase...no matter how much NRS does to change the fabric of the game and take it in new directions, you always have the idiots that obsess over garbage throwaway characters like Tremor.

I personally prefer the non-ninja version of Ermac, and I love all of the Reptile versions. I like that we don't know why his appearance isn't consistent. It's one of the only appealing mysteries in MK at this point.

Also, your initial statement is simply false. "In general, Tremor's only appeal is that he's a ninja. And that's it." No, it isn't. Don't put words in other peoples' mouths. It's rude. If you took the time to read even half of the posts in this thread, you'd see that Tremor has backstory involving both the Lin Keui and the Black Dragon, and he moveset would occupy a field of moves no other character even overlaps with, save for Jax's ground pound (and it's very easy to make their ground pounds substantially different and unique). Don't be a tool.

And LOL at the dig about getting laid. It's funny you went there...usually, it's people who suffer the same situation you are accusing me of that project that feeling onto others, so...sorry to hear about that for ya, kiddo.

Also ironic that you tell me I shouldn't be so passionate about trivial things, when this thread is dedicated to the dipshits who obsess over the most trivial and pointless character in MK history...wink

Wrong. Tremor's appeal isn't that he's a ninja, in fact I'd say it'd be better if he didn't look like one, and went with the gritty new look MKX has. His appeal is that he's unique and could have a lot of unique moves that would fit right in with Mortal Kombat.

Have we ever had someone that could conjure rocks, metals, and the like? No...

Think of the special moves.

Think of the Fatalities.

Tremor could be an interesting character with an interesting backstory and a fun moveset. He hasn't been in a Mortal Kombat before as a playable character.

And if at this moment you still want him to stay out, then you can bitch over the fact that people want Hydro. I don't know why, Hydro isn't really unique. He's basically just like Glacius.

I agree that a character controlling earth elements like rocks, soil, stone, metals is unique and the ninja part is actually holding him back. I'm sure NRS understands too many ninjas is just stupid and bland as much as we do.
The stones look has not been used often, only some DC comics had this giant freak made of stone, but you can make a really original looking character out of Tremor. NRS does not agree though. Sometimes I think they are stuck in a creative bubble and need some fresh blood. They have been so uncreative, it's not even funny.

I agree. Could you imagine this in Mortal Kombat, but with the grace and speed of a Lin-Kuei Assassin?

Yes, let's ignore all the repeated hints about Tremor on Boon's twitter over the months and only focus on the fan petition.
