The amount of rage! Scorpion is Ed's favorite and the most iconic MK character. It was inevitable. I could care less about a damn box cover.

I think its pretty stunning. It's minimal and eye catching, conveys the game's tone and attitude. So much better than that orange/blue overdone crap from MK9.

Ugh. I was really hoping this wasn't the final box art cover. It's boring, dull and it's Scorpion. I like Scoprion just as much as the next MK fan, but Jesus Christ must he be EVERYWHERE? In every trailer, every promotional image, on every cover?It's almost a wonder that MK: Mythologies Sub-Zero even exists and Scoprion doesn't have his own spin-off video game at this point. In fact, save this kind of cover for Scorpion's own spin off game. Not for a game that's going to involve over 20+ characters and he's not even the main focus.

I'd take the dragon logo, shattered into an 'X' formation on top of a black background with "MKX" in white text under it over this. I understand that Scoprion is Boon's favorite, but he needs to realize that the entire fan base doesn't like Scorpion as much as he does.

I'm still getting the game, of course, but this cover is bland. I hope it's reversible.

I like it. Doesn't bother me. It's not like I'm going to stare at the box a lot. Mostly I'm looking at the side of the box if I'm looking for a game. But still, I like this cover.

Much better than MK9's cover. Fits the dark tone of the game. Would have been nice to have five different characters, one for each platform

It's very plain and boring. Should have at least 2 characters on it, even if it's Subzero and Scorpion side by side. Black background is so plain.

I don't know why people are complaining. You guys want the game to sell right? The smart people who decided on the cover know that Scorpion sells, and the more people playing the game the better. It's just a damn cover who cares. It's not about your favorite character or who should be on it, it's a commercial. Scorpion should be expected.

It's not even NRS that determines that, it's WB's marketing. As easy as it would be to pin it on Ed Boon, WB doesn't really care what Ed Boon thinks when it comes to selling what they paid for.

I still love that we know Ed Boon's favorite character is Scorpion and that people always blame him for all this advertisement on the character. It's never the fact that Scorpion is the most iconic character with the most iconic phrase in video game history. Nope, it's Ed Boon's fault. I wonder what you all would be saying if Ed's favorite character turned out to be anyone other than Scorpion. It wouldn't be the same I can guarantee you that.

Well, had Ed Boon's favourite character been, say, Sub-Zero, it would be him on the front. Not because of Ed Boon, but because then Subbie would be the front man in all the previous trailers, he would be the one used in their promotion for the MK games, he would be the character who had gotten most love by the team, the first character they designed for each game and the first character they polished. It would be Subbie who was the Injustice DLC, it would be Subbie who would be the Player 1 starter spot on the character select screens...

So yeah, I do believe it matters that Scorpion is Ed Boon's favourite.

Marketing - It's not about what Boon likes, it's about what sells, and that's Scorpion. He's the most iconic MK character, bar none.

Parent Companies - Even if it were about what Boon likes, he has to answer to WB because they own the Mortal Kombat IP now.

There's no need to insult. The thing is that Scorpion has always had a catchphrase, and that sticks with people. Very few (or no) trailers had Scorpion as a focal point until MK was bought by Warner Brothers. There's a reason for that. You can say "Get over here!" to most people, and they will understand you're talking about Scorpion and Mortal Kombat. Having Scorpion on the cover is shorthand for saying "Hey, remember Mortal Kombat? Of course you do, GET OVER HERE and buy it."
