Mortal Kombat 1 Adventure Game Levels
Having thought about it, here's how I think they could do...

Intro movie...

Many years ago in Earthrealm... a sorcerer named Shang Tsung defied the Elder Gods with his attempts to achieve immortality... he was given a curse, that curse required Shang Tsung to consume the souls of defeated warriors in order to stay alive...

(Seeking out the Shaolin Tournament, Shang Tsung enters in hopes to become Champion)

Enter the Mortal Kombat Tournament, he successfully won the title of Champion, as long as he was Champion, Shang Tsung would never age... little did the Shaolin know was that each victory added to a dark power...

(we see Shang Tsung confronted by the original Kung Lao)

Until a brave and noble Shaolin Monk, Kung Lao stepped forward determined to take the title from the evil sorcerer.

(Kung Lao holding Shang Tsung by the throat)

Kung Lao defeated Shang Tsung and the evil sorcerer was banished from the tournament... Shang Tsung would vanish for many years....

(We cut forward to several decades later... the next tournament.)

Shang Tsung returned... but because he could not relie on the tournament to keep him young... he had aged greatly... but with him, he brought a new pupil...

(Goro appears behind Shang Tsung and roars)

Goro and Kung Lao fought for the title of Champion... and though Kung Lao fought long and hard, he could not stand up to the might of Goro...

(Goro defeats Kung Lao...)

Kung Lao was defeated and Shang Tsung devoured his soul, becoming the title grandmaster... he alienated the Shaolin from their own tournament...

(We see all what was just said above happen.)

500 years later... Goro has defeated countless opponents, adding victory after victory... Only one more victory and Earth will be destroyed by a mysterious evil that hides behind Shang Tsung...

(We see a shadow of Shao Kahn behind an image of Shang Tsung)

(We then go into a montage of clips, first we see Liu Kang meditating at the Shaolin Temples... then we see Johnny Cage standing in front of a large crowd, carrying an award, Kano laughing in a Black Dragon van as they run from a Special Forces van in which we see Sonya... Sub-Zero running through a temple... where we see him remove the head of a person... that person's blood splatters onto the ground and from there, it cuts to Scorpion, rising from the Netherealm, then finally Raiden on the mountain tops... where he speaks)

One of these warriors will decide the outcome of the tournament... and become the Champion of Mortal Kombat...

The words of Raiden

(Then we see the title Mortal Kombat)

You play as all 7 characters, but for the sake of story purposes, you alternate between them to branch out their stories also for bosses, each character has at least 2 bosses. Like say Liu Kang's bosses will obviously be Goro and Shang Tsung. Scorpion will fight Sub-Zero... etc. You'll see.

Each character has their own brand of moves and play differently, the special moves can be upgraded like in MK:SM. Each character will have a short bio. First person or third person, I don't know, but it will also explain the moves they make and their special moves. I'll do that when I get time later tonight and I'll start the levels too. smile

Awesome! I find I usually agree with your idea, however doing to MKI what MKSM did to MK2 makes me cringe, MK1 is like sacred territory. Also I fear that the story would be too fleshed out and trying to link with the current games, especially because there is very little info in MK1 they'd be free to do whatever they want whereas a game like MK3 was already alot more fleshed out, they couldn't deviate from the story too much. But I still love the idea grin
Liu Kang

Play style: Pretty much the same as Shaolin Monks.
Look: MK1 look, the Bruce Lee look with black pants and short black hair or have a mullet like in the MK1 comic.
Special Moves:
High Fireball: can be upgraded to High Fireball, Low Fireball combo and then High Fireball, Low Fireball and Large Fireball combo.
Uppercut: yeah same thing really, except faster.
Flying Kick: then Bicycle Kick, then Bicycle Kick, Flying Kick combo

Johnny Cage

Play style: Same as Shaolin Monks vs. mode
Look: MK1 look with the brown shorts and sunglasses on all the time.
Special Moves:
Forceball: Same thing as Shaolin Monks.
Shadow Uppercut: Can't think of any upgrades here
Shadow Kick: Same...

Sonya Blade

Play style: Like Kitana in MK:SM vs. move
Look: Think MK1 comic look with the long blonde hair and no thong this time, that wasn't needed in MK:SM
Special Moves:
Ring Toss: Sonya's ring toss from MK1, the upgrades would be that she deliver more rings per upgrade which equals more damage.
Air Punch: Same as Kitana.
Leg Grab: We've seen it before, her trademark attack.

Raiden

Play style: Hmm, something different, that' s for sure.
Look: The MK1 look, duh wink
Special Moves:
Lightning: Raiden's upgrades, is that he delivers more lightning when he gets upgraded.
Teleport: Raiden teleports with upgrades similar to Kung Lao's teleport move.
Torpedo: Upgrades would be that he gets faster each time.

Scorpion

Play style: Like MK:SM
Look: MK:SM cinematic look
Special Moves:
Teleport Punch
Backflip Kick
Spear

Sub-Zero

Play style: Once again like MK:SM
Look: MK:SM cinematic look (though it's the same in the game)
Special Moves:
Freeze
Slide
Ice Clone

Kano

Play style: Something like he did in MK:SM when you fight him
Look: MK1 look
Special Moves:
Knife Throw
Eye Laser
Cannonball

Next... the levels!

Cool! Sounds great (though I would like for Sonya to be a bit different than Kitana, I hated how she fought in MKSM)

Do you mind if I make one on MK3, I know this was your idea and I won't make the thread if you don't want me to.
Chapter 1: Training with Bo' Rai Cho (as Liu Kang)

There is a cutscene where Bo' Rai Cho wakes up Liu Kang, the setting is Bo Rai Cho's home. Liu Kang gets up and they talk about the Great Kung Lao and how to defeat Shang Tsung. Bo' Rai Cho walks into the training room, telling Liu Kang to come in when he's ready. Here the player takes control of Liu Kang and can walk around and get accostumed to the controls. Also there could be a chest or secret in here or something.

When Liu Kang enters the training room, the player is in a dojo style with Bo' Rai Cho given introductions to the fighting commands which Liu Kang performs on a few practice dummies until they break. Then Bo' Rai Cho instructs you on to use the special moves. After perfecting the Fireball and Uppercut. Bo' Rai Cho tells Liu Kang about the Flying Kick, and after perfomring it a couple of times, tells Liu Kang to use it on him. Hit Bo' Rai Cho with the Flying Kick and you'll have beaten the first part of the game!

Another cutscene starts where Bo' Rai Cho gives Liu Kang some inspirational words, but then makes an ass out of himself with those disgusting things he does, leaving Liu Kang disgusted. This part ends with Liu Kang deciding to return to the Shaolin Temples and enter the tournament.

Part 2: Fame and Glory (as Johnny Cage)

It starts off like Johnny Cage's entrance in the movie, where you fight random guys who are obviously stunt men, eventually you get to a room where you find a pretty young woman tied to a chair (not Sonya) where you fight a few more guys, you need to do lots of Special Moves in order to convince the director that it's a good take. You'll beat this part when the director calls "CUT!" If he shakes his head that means you have to do it again.

A cutscene will trigger where Johnny Cage sees the newspapers and magazines calling him a fake, he goes to his trailer where... this part I'll give a dialogue scene.

(Cage's phone rings)
Johnny Cage: If this isn't some insanely beautiful woman... I'm hanging up.*
Agent: Johnny, it's your agent. I just want to tell you you got some mail here. Looks like you got the perfect chance to prove those critics wrong about your marial art skills.
Johnny Cage: What are you talking about?
Agent: I got this mail from a... Shang Tsung (he has a hard time pronouncing the name). It invites you to compete in a marital arts tournament called Mortal Kombat, if you win this... you could get them off your back.
(Suddenly the movie star's face is filled with glee, he has great desire and ambition, he jumps into the air... only to hit his head on the trailer roof causing him to drop the phone.)
Johnny Cage: OW! GODDAMN IT!
Agent: ...Johnny?

*From Independence Day, I know.

Anyway that's all for now! smile

Sure, knock yourself out. As for Sonya... well SubZero7th told me the same thing, maybe I'll change it.
Part 3: Eternal Hatred (Starts as Kano, then switches to Sonya)

This chapter starts in New York Harbor. Where we see a few Black Dragons hiding out in a abandoned warehouse where we see Kano sitting in the shadows with only his red eye showing, then the Special Forces break in where we see Sonya for the first time, along with her partner Jack, as the special forces break in to the front, Kano and the Black Dragons prepare.

You take control of Kano, where you battle Special Forces agents, after you defeat them move on to the next area, make your way through and take out some more agents. Eventually Kano comes across Jack and Sonya. In a cutscene, Kano kills Jack, who was very close to Sonya, like a brother... Devastated, Sonya gets up determined to kill Kano. Here player control switches to Sonya.

Go through the door, Kano just went through, where you encounter Black Dragons. Take this time to get accustomed to playing as Sonya. Go through the next few doors, where you go up the stairs. Here you find Kano and the first boss of the game begins...

Boss: KANO (Character: Sonya)

Kano's not as fast as Sonya, but he's a lot stronger. Expect him to do Cannonballs and Knife Throws a lot. Use your speed and leg grabs to your advantage. When he gets low on health, he'll start rotating around the room in cannonball mode, don't let him hit you or you'll take a lot of damage, when he prepares to attack, immediately do Air Throw and Kano will be knocked down. Keep attacking until he is beaten.

Kano is knocked back, but before Sonya can finish him off, he manages to escape. As Sonya looks over the edge of the rooftop, she curses in frustration, however Jack tells her that they have captured one Black Dragon member and they have gotten out of him that the Black Dragon is heading to Hong Kong... Sonya tells him to call HQ and prepare a jet...

Some most intriguing concepts! You might consider a writing career, with your talent for "multi-story" style. Are these introductory chapters thus far?

No offense, man, but I don't think they should do more games based on already-established games. I think Shaolin Monks really confused people storywise and well - from now on, I think little by little facts should be revealed to us through future game text. It's for the best, I think.

even though i doubt midway would go and do a MK1 style "shaolin monks" i have always thought that it wouldve been cool if they included in the original shaolin the whole mk1 story line up until the Mk2 or the current one thats out now. I beg your bloody pardon?! I know that I can't expect everyone to have the same interpretation of Sonya as me, but she is a soldier with the US SPECIAL FORCES, isn't she? Wouldn't that entitle her to a damn sight more points than these? Particularly in the row marked strength. I realise that there has to be balance between the characters, and some should be stronger while others faster, but this is ridiculous. Why is it always the woman who's left to be the fast one rather than the strong one every time?

Forgive my indignation, but you have successfully, albeit through no fault of your own, pissed me off, and now I need to go and sit in a corner to calm down.

r u think of doing reptile because he was in mk1 (not playable in mk1) and do u have a name for ur game. u should gave ur ideas to bbWWdd (heres his mk game demo thread http://www.mortalkombatonline.com/content/forum/showmessage.cds?id=51229 )

i would like to see this made into a game even if its in flash or ps2
Part 4: Flashback (as Sub-Zero)

We then cut to the Lin Kuei Temple where we see the last scene from MKM:SZ and continue forth from there.

Sub-Zero: *bows and kneels before the Grandmaster* Grandmaster, my services are always available to the Lin Kuei. (OOC: I forget what he said exactly)
Grandmaster: Welcome back Sub-Zero. We have a new assignment for you. Another sorcerer has aquired your services... he wants you to compete in a small tournament called... Mortal Kombat.
(Sub-Zero and Shang Tsung face each other)
Sub-Zero: A tournament?
Shang Tsung: Yes... one that only fighters like yourself could possibly enter Sub-Zero. It is the ultimate test of skill and power...
Sub-Zero: Get to the point.
Shang Tsung: As I said, I am looking for warriors of skill such as yours. I have looked for warriors such as yourself. I heard of your little confrontation with Quan Chi and Shinnok in the Netherrealm... I was most impressed.
Sub-Zero: If it wasn't for the Thunder God, I wouldn't have entered that realm in the first place!
Shang Tsung: Hmm... but even so, if you win, you will be the Champion. The benefits of which are most satisfying.
(Sub-Zero looks at the Grandmaster, who nods his head)
Sub-Zero: Fine, I'll enter.
Shang Tsung: (hands Sub-Zero the map) Excellent.
(With that Shang Tsung disappears, Sub-Zero turns to the Grandmaster)
Sub-Zero: Grandmaster, why did you want me to accept?
Grandmaster: You know the legend as well as I do... if Outworld claims one more consecutive victory... all of Earthrealm will be danger... for the safety of the Lin Kuei, we want you to assassinate Shang Tsung and put an end to it.
Sub-Zero: If it is for the safety of the Lin Kuei, I will gladly do it.
Grandmaster: Excellent.

The player then takes control of Sub-Zero, leave the grandmaster chambers, where you can walk around the Lin Kuei Temple for a bit. Eventually you'll get to a training ground, where you have to fight a few Lin Kuei Assassins... after that you'll trigger a cutscene where Sub-Zero meets his younger brother (the last time they see each other) where Sub-Zero retells him about the Shaolin Temple story. Here after Sub-Zero crashes through the window we get more dialogue from Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

Scorpion: What the? Just who are you?
Sub-Zero: I'm the one who should be asking that.
Scorpion: ...
Sub-Zero: That uniform.... you're a Shirai Ryu aren't you?
Scorpion: What? Then you must be a...
Sub-Zero: Yes. I easily recognized your clan as soon as I saw the yellow color. You think that can mock us?
Scorpion: From what i've heard, you Lin Kuei are cowards, no honor in your work.
Sub-Zero: You do the same acts, tell me what honor do you possess.
Scorpion: (looks angry) Stay out of my way. Let me get the Map of Elements and I'll leave you alone.
Sub-Zero: !? I'm afraid I can't do that, I have to retrieve that map for my clan. If anything, you should stay out my way.
Scorpion: You will fail! (he runs off laughing)

From here on, the player goes through a complete 3D version of the first MKM level, fighting through the Shaolin. When you reach the map, you encounter Scorpion again. The two talk again and then the fight begins.

Boss: SCORPION (Character: Sub-Zero)

Harder than he was in Mortal Kombat Mythologies. He doesn't do any special moves, but he will do a lot of combos. Don't rely on your freeze moves too often or else he'll learn to avoid and counter. When he does a combo, block and counter with a combo of your own. Keep this out and he'll eventually go down. When he drops to his knees and says "Spare me." The words FINISH HIM! will appear and the Spine Rip fatality input code will appear, input it and watch Sub-Zero kill Scorpion... Here the level ends with a whiteout.

Part 5: Lost Soul Bent on Revenge (as Scorpion)

Where that left off... we see two shadowy figures (Quan Chi and Shinnok) looking down at a figure whoses eyes we are looking for. When he gets out, we see Scorpion... he looks at the two... Quan Chi tells him what happened... Scorpion is immediately horrified and angry that he has been condemned to Hell. He mentions his family and that's where Quan Chi tells him that after Sub-Zero killed him, he killed his family and clan. Scorpion does not believe it at first, but Quan Chi creates an image where Scorpion watches Sub-Zero kill his family and then sees members of his clan being massacred. Scorpion lets out a roar of rage and vows to kill the man responsible for it all: Sub-Zero.

(This part is post MKM) Scorpion is in the Netherrealm looking down at demons who are after him.

Scorpion: How pathetic.
(Suddenly the images of his death at Sub-Zero's hands plays before his eyes....)
Scorpion: Hanzo Hasashi is dead... there is only Scorpion... (He pauses for a bit) My wife, my child... I know what I promised you... for the man who murdered you... I promise you.... REVENGE!

Scorpion's level starts with him jumping down, you fight the demons in the Netherrealm, making your way through various areas. Eventually after 4 or 5 areas, you come across Quan Chi, who tells you to go to Shinnok's palace, continue on through, go through the next 2 areas and enter Shinnok's palace. In Shinnok's Palace go up the stairs, where you'll trigger a cutscene...

Scorpion: What do you want?
Quan Chi: A little proposition for you Scorpion. One you might find rewarding.
Scorpion: I don't need riches... (Scorpion turns to leave)
Shinnok: No. Not that kind of reward. We want you to enter the Mortal Kombat Tournament on Earthrealm.
Scorpion: I have no need to enter a tournament.
Quan Chi: Oh, I think you will. After all, "he" is going to be there.
(Scorpion turns around, he is now interested.)
Quan Chi: It is a shame you decided to not join the Brotherhood of Shadow Scorpion... you could've served us well.
Scorpion: I don't give a crap about you or your "brotherhood"
Quan Chi: Ah, yes. That's what I'd expect from a specter.
Shinnok: Quan Chi has arranged it so that Shang Tsung will allow you to compete. Enter the portal. (A portal opens)
Scorpion: What's in it for you two?
Quan Chi: We just want to feel better, Scorpion. You've been rather angry these last two years.
Scorpion: I seriously doubt that.
Quan Chi: Believe what you want. Now go and kill the man who took everything from you.
(Without a word, Scorpion jumps through the portal and after he leaves both Quan Chi and Shinnok look at each other and laugh.)
Shinnok: The poor fool.... he has no idea...

Hmm, pretty good stuff. I think instead of Scorpion saying "I don't give a crap about you or your 'brotherhood'", he should say something more like "I don't care about your Brotherhood."

I like your ideas for this adventure game. Sounds interesting, something could be changed for the best IMO, but I overall agree with most of your stuff.

Although Im not sure it would work that well, look at what they did to Mk2 in MKSM....if they only used Mk3 for this sort of adventure, but made it more like a Lara Croft game...maybe it would work.

Anyway, good stuff! Keep writting.

Sub-Zero_7th Wrote:

I agree.
^Dually noted to the two of you about Scorpion's line.

Anyway, Raiden will be played as the least of all the characters, since he's more of a mentor than a fighter. So instead of going to him, you go back to playing as Liu Kang.

Part 6: THE SHAOLIN TEMPLES (as Liu Kang)

A cutscene shows Liu Kang arrived at the Order of Light Temples. Where he talks to a Shaolin Monk, he tells him where he can earn the right to compete in the Tournament. You take control of Liu Kang and can talk to various monks. Eventually you arrive at the Li Tei of the Wu Shi Academy (which is erie because it's where Liu Kang will be killed in Deadly Alliance.) You fight 5 Shaolin Warriors, and once you defeat them all, they will tell you to go to Master Wu and ask for permission to compete. The Shaolin ask him to defeat Shang Tsung, then you regain control of Liu Kang.

Head to the main temple, go inside where you find Master Wu. There the same scene from the MK1 comic will play it with it ending with Liu Kang's famous cry of... "I will not fail! That is my promise!"

Part 7: THE DOCKS (as Kano)

After we see the Johnny Cage scene from the comic... we go to the scene where the Special Forces are racing down the docks, you take control of Kano, where you get to shoot at the Special Forces truck to protect your own car. Triggering the same scene from the comic, you take control of Kano, where you have to perfect your jump to the Special Forces car. You get the Sonya scene, and then as Kano, leap off and head behind the crates, as Sonya and Jake look for you, shoot at the barrels (a Game Over will trigger if you shoot Sonya or Jake) Once you do, run past them and do a long jump onto the boat.

Sonya prepares a speeder boat, while Kano gets onto the boat...

Next part, you play as Raiden! I promise. smile
Part 8: INVITATION (as Raiden)

You then cut to a scene of Shang Tsung travelling through the mountains in rural Japan. He issues an invitation to Raiden, who appears and accepts it. (The dialogue would be different from the comic to reflect Raiden's protector status) after Shang Tsung leaves, you get control of the Thunder God. As Raiden, you must make your way through the mountains, taking out several obtacles along the wall. You must keep going until you reach the teleportation area. Once Raiden steps on it, he teleports.

Part 9: THE BOAT (as Johnny Cage)

On the boat, you get control of Johnny Cage, where you can see Liu Kang relaxing on the top area of the boat, and if you look hard enough... a certain Lin Kuei Warrior watching from above and... a little to the left a certain ninja specter watching him. You can talk to several fighters here, but first go down to the decks below into Johnny Cage's room and unpack. Look around in the room for a secret. Afterwards go back up where you trigger a cutscene with Kano. They get into a argument and Kano will send his new friends at you. Defeat Kano's men and you get a cutscene taken straight from the MK1 comic where Liu Kang helps Johnny Cage out. Then you see the Scorpion confronts Sub-Zero, grabbing him by the throat...

Sub-Zero: No! It can't be! I... I...
Scorpion: Yessss.... Two years ago, you murdered me! But my demons have allowed me to return to avenge my death! I could kill you at this moment, but I am not a murderer! We will fight at the tournament and then Lin Kuei... you will pay for your crimes!

Scorpion throws Sub-Zero done, who proclaims that Scorpion is a fool for sparing his life.... then Scorpion mentions his family and clan... Sub-Zero once again procliams innocence (but yet mocking Scorpion at the same time) but when he turns around Scorpion has already disappeared.

Part 10: THE ISLAND (as Sonya)

As Shang Tsung's boat arrives, so too do the Special Forces boat... as soon as Sonya and her men step foot onto the island, they are attacked by Masked Guard. You take control of Sonya here...

As Sonya you must try to help your men as much as you can.. if one group is in trouble, head over to help them. Once you do 3 of these, you are attacked by 5 Masked Guards... defeat them and a cutscene will trigger, where Sonya is tackled, and her hands are tied behind her back. You cut to Sonya's view point, where it suddenly gets black. (They blindfolded her)

Anyway to be continued in the next part

u got great ideas for the game.

i got idea for 2 bouse levels. remember the into movie well that could be made into a level where u play original Kung Lao (not the one from mk2) and at end of level u fight Shang Tsung. The other idea is you get play goro where you fight original Kung Lao but you can only get these 2 levels if u do something like complete the game or something else. Tell me what u think of ideas and if u going use them.

anothere thing i want to know is reptile going to be in ur game?
Part 10: ALLIANCE (starts as Raiden, then switches to Johnny Cage)

We see Shang Tsung address the fighters and shows them a tied up Sonya. Who tells her that her own life as well as her companion's are relying on her performance in the tournament. Johnny Cage is attracted to Sonya (Hint Hint) After Goro shouts "LET THE TOURNAMENT BEGIN!" The Masked Guard throw Sonya down while they take her men away. Sonya struggles, Liu Kang and Johnny Cage untie her (even though she insists that she doesn't need any help.) Sonya takes an apparent dislike for Johnny Cage, but appears to respect Liu Kang. Scorpion and Sub-Zero exchange looks at each other before they go in the opposite direction. It is then that they meet Raiden, who tells them to go to the Warrior Shrine to talk to him.

You gain control of Raiden, where after teleporting, you briefly take control of him... you fight various Masked Guards, when you get to the Warrior Shrine, player control switches to Johnny Cage.

They question whether or not to follow them. Ultimately they decide to. As Johnny Cage, go through the island where you fight Masked Guard and the like when you eventually reach the Warrior Shrine. Talk to Raiden there and he tells you about the tournament (but does not mention Shao Kahn...) They are not sure what to think, Raiden decides to convince them by sparing with one of them.

Raiden: Who wants to go first?
(Liu Kang and Sonya immediately point at Johnny Cage)
Johnny Cage: (looking back and forth) What?

Boss: RAIDEN (Character: Johnny Cage)

Raiden is tough. He's strong, so block when you can. And make sure to keep dodging his lightning and land in a Shadow Kick when you can. Dodge his attacks and counter with your own. When he gets to low health, he really try to fry you with lightning. Keep dodging and attacking and you'll beat him.

Raiden is impressed though Johnny Cage is exhausted. Raiden tells them to go the Fighter's rest lounge to prepare for their matches..

Very cool! I like how Sonya's going. I like how she says she doesn't need help. Reminds me of how she was in MKDOTR. As for fighting Raiden as a boss, I like it. Seems very fitting. Good job man!

Here you must keep in pursuit of Sub-Zero, he'll throw several obstacles at you, but if he gets too far ahead of you, you have to do the level all over again. There will be times when the Masked Guard will attack, just fend them off and stay in pursuit. Once you reach the end, you would think it's time for a fight, but it's not... as soon as Scorpion gets a hand on Sub-Zero... he vanishes... Scorpion screams in rage... but then he snaps out of his nightmare. Scorpion looks at a reflection of himself and wonders just who he is now...

Part 12: Tainted Soul (as Sub-Zero)

Sub-Zero remembers the last words Raiden said to him at the end MK: Mythologies... That there is evil in his soul. Upon having noticed Raiden earlier, he decides to find him.

As Sub-Zero, step out into the night, and make your way through the island, fighting Masked Guards as you go. As soon as you get through 5 or so areas, you find Raiden at the Warrior Shrine.

Raiden: I expected you to come Sub-Zero.
Sub-Zero: ......
Raiden: I see you remain a Lin Kuei Warrior.
Sub-Zero: Yes... but... were you speaking the truth those two years ago?
Raiden: My answer would be no different than it was then.
Sub-Zero: ....
Raiden: You ignored my warning Sub-Zero, but it is still not too late.... as long as Scorpion doesn't get to you first.
Sub-Zero: ! Why can't you get rid of him? You are Earthrealm's...
Raiden: If he were to threaten Earth I would... but he is only after you. Lucky you.
(Sub-Zero looks annoyed.)
Raiden: I warned you of consequences, if you survive... then the decision is once again up to you...
(Raiden teleports away, leaving a stunned Sub-Zero behind)
Part 13: Round 1 (as Liu Kang)

That next morning as the sun rises, you find Liu Kang training, and you take control of him. Run out and talk to Johnny Cage and then Sonya. Afterward the gong will sound and you will head towards the tournament grounds... As Liu Kang enters he notices Raiden watching from above.

You will see montage of clips of each of the 7 Warriors defeating their opponents (Johnny Cages beats his opponent by punching him in the balls) Then later on... you get this match up... Liu Kang vs. Johnny Cage... the two wish each other luck and prepare to duel.

Boss: JOHNNY CAGE (Character: Liu Kang)

Don't underestimate him. He's sure to use Force Balls and Shadow Kicks a lot. Make sure you have the Bicycle Kick by now. It'll make this battle a lot easier. Also he trys to use his Groin Punch, quickly jump away and use Flying Kick, otherwise not only will it hurt a LOT. But he'll be able to follow up with a combo. Keep at it... until he's beaten and Liu Kang advances.

Liu Kang helps Johnny Cage up, who gives him a congratulations on his victory. Shang Tsung (who's watching from above) tells a mysterious green ninja to take care of Johnny Cage...

They prepare to fight

Boss: SONYA (Character: Kano)

Sonya's pretty tough so watch it. She'll send a lot of ring tosses at you. You can dodge these and hit her with a canonball. If she gets you into a leg grab, you go into a Test Your Might sequence. If you win it, you'll break free and have a free hit on her. If you lose it, she throws you over and you hit the ground hard. At half hit, Sonya starts to speed up her attacks a little, use knife throw to your advantage. With that, keeping attacking and following the said above stragedy...and she'll eventually go down.

After the boss, Kano mocks Sonya some more and starts mercilessly beating Sonya... even though she's now having a hard time getting to her feet. Enraged, Johnny Cage races down to the arena. Shang Tsung has grown bored with the battle and tells Kano to finish her, however before Kano can perform his trademark fatality, Johnny Cage knocks him back, saving Sonya. Another fight nearly breaks out, but Shang Tsung orders a dismissal. Johnny Cage gives Kano one last dirty look before carrying Sonya's unconscious body away...
