Legacy Costumes is just how they call every costume that came out of before the KP2 announcement. Notice it's not a pack, but a title for the following list of costumes. The Apocalypse Pack is alone by itself.

Ah, I see that now. The image is so small that I couldn't tell it was a title for previously released costumes. Sorry about that.

Here is a detailed image of how to get the KP2 content and the XL update.

Also there is a description of "Legacy" pack which was not shown in the trailer.

Note: It does not say that any version of the game includes Gold Scorpion, in case anyone was wondering.

It doesn't mention the Pit either, which Boon basically confirmed is in XL...The other new skins neither. I'm assuming both XL and KP2 have all the extra content.

They need to be clearer detailing these things....Either way, I'm buying XL because I like to have physical things.

So the XL upgrades only real difference is that it comes with a bunch of DLC that has been available for a long time...and no mention of the Cosplay pack (The one I want lol)

Looks like ill just buy KP2, and wait for the Cosplay pack to come for sale on it's own.

Any news of if we will need to upgrade to XL for the improved netcode?

Nope, which is good since it means that it will be available to all. If it worries people so much you could ask them on their official channels.

Considering they are still advertising to existing owners of MKX and the MKX + KP1 I think it will come to everyone. The improved netcode is mostly client side.

I think the Pit and Netkode upgrade will come free since there is no mention of it anywhere.

I sure hope so. Id like to believe the people over at WB and NRS would be aware of what kind of backlash that would cause. That could potentially put a huge dent in their reputation. They will end up looking like what Capcom did around the time of the whole SFXT and UMVC3 nonsense went down lol

Holy shit, it's the full $60? Wow. I don't know if it's guess work but Polygon is reporting KP2 is $30. LOL $30 when a lot of that content is NOT in fact new. Man, WB has a giant set of fucking balls on them.

The KP2 is $20. Polygon is wrong and is a shitty web-site anyway so no surprises there then.

I'd like to know if gold scorpion skin is included.
The skin itself sucks big time, but I am a completist, you know, I broke my back to obtain Revenant Kitana and Hotshot Johnny Cage.

Okay, so I keep seeing the theory that the next MK game is coming in 2019.

Why?

Did I miss something? Did NRS say "There will definitely, absolutely be no less 4 years between MK games"? Just because there was 4 years between MK9 to MKX doesn't mean that MK games will only release every four years. It's obvious their next project is Injustice 2, which one could logically assume has been in development since the end of 2014 (they have different teams in charge of MKX and Injustice). But in relation to MK, MK9 came out at the END of the previous gen's lifecycle.

In 2 years, that generation was obsolete. They did their last game of the previous generation with Injustice, with a slightly updated version for PS4/XB1 since both consoles released that same year. PS4/Bone aren't going anywhere anytime soon. PS3/360 was one of the longest generations of gaming since the 16-bit era...almost a full decade. PS4/Bone are still babies, and NRS already has a solid foundation on which to build the next game. It won't be as difficult to utilize that framework to finally upgrade to Unreal Engine 4. It's not going to take that long to develop the next MK game.

I anticipate we'll get an Injustice 2 reveal/announcement within the next 60 days with an April 2017 release date, OR late 2016. They aren't going to send off MKX without an acknowledgement of their next project. Expect an announcement around the time of MKXL's release ;)

I would think that, in relation to Injustice likely being released late this year or early next year, the earliest we would get an MKXI announcement would be early-to-mid 2017, with an April 2018 release date. OR, hell...they could be developing MKXI right now, who knows? I don't expect a long time between games, not anymore. They've proven their chops on current gen, so we'll be seeing the next MK before 4 years. It's way too popular to just let it fester. MK9/MKX, for all that you bitch about it, has brought this series out of the depths frickin' cesspool only to find it in shining gold. It's finally hit the popularity and respect it deserves, rather than be a laughing stock among fighter audiences like it's been since 1998. With the series on such a high, they will not be sitting on their hands.

Oh man I certainly hope you are oh so wrong. Remember the last time MK was on a schedule like that? It got run into the ground and we got a MK of continually decreasing quality every year.

Just look at COD and Assassins Creed. You can't do a fighting game like that...or I would hope WB would know this. It kills the community of competitive players and lessens the integrity of the franchise. You can't make a balanced, good fighting game on an annual schedule.

It's not like Capcom and Double Helix are against guests either.

SF Vs Tekken included 5 guests. Of course, Megaman and Pac-Man were Capcom and Namco characters respectively but Cole McGrath, Kuro and Toro were playstation characters.

A freaking Battletoad made the Killer Instinct roster, and his bio states he's "the first guest" implying more could be coming.

Guests are part of the fighting game landscape now and NRS belongs to a big time company that will definitely put profit before anything else. The best selling DLC of MK9 and MKX are the guests and they will sell more copies to people unaware of the MKX DLC if they see Goro and the guests on the cover rather than Tanya, Tremor and Bo' Rai Cho.

It's business. The kind of business we're not used to from NRS but business nonetheless.

Here's the thing though. Akuma, isn't too hard of a stretch because he's a fighting game character and we have already seen Capcom and Tekken crossover. So it's much easier to accept and he doesn't clash with the visuals and theme of Tekken.

Rash is a comfortable fit to KI (which is developed by Iron Galaxy now by the way) because he's a Rare legacy character so he is right at home and welcomed with open arms.
And he is in a game with a fire breathing Raptor, a Werewolf, a Ice Alien and...well you get the point. Killer Instinct is absurd.

However...when it's movie characters who have nothing at all to do with the medium they are crossing over into or the franchise...and they clash with the theme, and aesthetics of MK..that's a harder pill to swallow.

They should've gone back to bed. sleep

Because Cassie and Jaquie are THE WORST new fighters as well as Kung Jin and Takeda and they just try to make them kooler in the eyes of the fans. Those characters are so uninspired and stupid and shitty. Now NRS konfirmed they think that way too.

Dumb.

Also, I really like Jackie and Cassy having ninja skins. I wish every character had a ninja skin. Its just a bit of dumb fun. Im actually surprised by all the hate. Probably shouldnt be though.

im quite interested to find out the reasoning behind them choosing bo rai cho over Fujin

unless they may pull a ' Martian manhunter' on us and release them as a fan fav outside of the kombat packs

unlikely i guess as the XL is essentially a complete edition but you never know

Even if it seems like they are choosing to ignore us, NRS clearly know of the huge fan demand for Fujin. Tyler & co. do read TYM and the official forums, and probably here and TRMK as well.

I think further DLC is unlikely given that we now have a komplete edition, but it is *possible* (and I am NOT saying this is likely) that Fujin will be released for free as they wrap the game up in the near future. They brought in voice actors and motion capture guys to make the last four DLC characters, so it's not out of the question that they will have made a final character (separate from KP2) at the same time. I doubt it would have cost them much more on top, as they were already booking studio time and voice artists, etc. anyway.

By releasing a free character in a patch, they are circumventing the DLC issue, and so it wouldn't affect the content of the MKXL game.

Fingers crossed, and this is our last hope. confused

Yeah there's nothing in that pack worth 20 bucks. I'll maybe buy Bo and Borg if they're available separately but nah.

Well if anything this has taught me next go around for MK11 I'm not buying a single bit of DLC until around the one year mark so I can get everything they put out for incredibly cheap. So, NRS, thanks I guess? lol

tbh, $20 for KP2 doesn't sound too bad. I guess i'll pick it up, but if they start releasing characters first in Feb I might just buy them individually if that's an option.

My plan is to not even buy the game until the one year mark (IF I even feel like it)- But I have a strong feeling by the time MK11 is revealed my icy heart will be thawed and NRS will begin to seduce me yet again. But I really don't intend on buying anything unless I'm satisfied with the base roster next time. Sounds childish, I know, but MKX really ticked me off with their character choices and I kept hoping "Well maybe the DLC will help set things right for me" and we all know how that ended up (Fucking Leatherface). Caution is what I'll be taking when it comes to MK11, incredible caution. It could very well be the first MK outside of the original that I don't purchase upon release.

That hope died about a minute after Fujin was no where to be seen in the base roster and not a second before he was no where to be seen alongside Tanya in Kombat Pack 1. But look on the BRIGHT SIDE- We get to wait three years because he *MIGHT* be in MK11...or he might not. Sounds fun!

If there's anything anyone should have learned from every game that has come out in the last 2 years. It's wait for the inevitable GOTY.
Especially when it comes to WB. It's why i didn't spring for MKX when it came out.
