Even if they are (are you sure about this?) they still look the same. So if somebody had Kung Lao's spin as a normal you'd be fine right?

Should be a good time nonetheless.
I posted this yesterday, what the fuck? Anyways, haven't watched it yet but it sounds like it showed a lot of new gameplay stuff. I don't get why people complain about shit like this, really shows who the true fans are.

I can name three characters who spin like Kung Lao, none of them are clones and all three are reasonably popular.

Only if they 100% scrap her current head, and start anew. Cassie standing next to D'Vorah was jarring as Cassie looks like a Dreamcast fighter, while D'Vorah is beautifully modeled. Her hairstyle makes zero sense, and looks terrible. She seems to be stealing the bad hair crown from Kitana...
Quan Chi's fatality was awesome. I was happy to at least get to see the full thing. Out of the new characters so far can't decide which is my favorite. I was happy to see how all Kotal Khan's stuff worked. I wish we could have seen more from Raiden and Casey Cage, but Quan Chi and Scorpion made me happy.

Was busy last night, so thanks to those of you who put links to the video so i could find it easily today.
So I'm happy with the explanations they gave, but having no Raiden and virtually no Cassie action was a little disappointing. Still, I'm concerned the gameplay mechanics might be getting overly-complicated for the sake of it. Does EVERYTHING need meter burn enhancement?
Also just on a personal note, i don't really want to see Xrays and fatalities anymore - i consider them spoilers and i want to be surprised when i perform them in HD on my bigscreen. I had to look away every five minutes.

They added stuff to the sequel that makes the first game seem really simple and beginner-y. Its almost like thats the game they wanted to make but they had to ease people into it first. Its good that they take some time to explain some of this so they don't scare people away. Also about the people complaining about the people complaining about the intro, You gotta understand its like dangling a carrot in fount of a horse and yanking it away. Clues to the story are right there. Its so close yet you can't hear anything. Nooooooo... T-T

I'm not 100% (more like 90%) but I'm fairly certain they are normals. But even if they are specials, I still have no problem with that. She is Johnny's daughter after all. Who better than her to have a Shadow Kick? Or her dad's Flip Kick?
As for KL's spin, Ashrah had it as a special and I didn't mind.

Anyone else notice the extremely high res during the fatalities?
Example: Scorpions fatality on Subby. The textures of subbys uniform was amazing. It looks like they will have near cinematics during cutscenes such as fatalities or at least boost the resolution output. It was an early claim back when the game was announced in June. It is great to see the game progress from the early build of e3.

They did the same for Kano but there was still more Kano than Raiden. I feel they should've at least showed Raiden's Master of Storms Variation, because role are wondering if his traps are even viable. But there's always next month.

How in the fuck do hairstyles need to make sense? In the end, how Cassie looks will probably not fucking matter because people like you end up dropping the game a month after release anyway.

Raiden's traps looked viable from the NRS gameplay trailer of Raiden vs Kano.
Trap @ 1:55
It shows how the traps can be performed immediately after a knockdown and also is quick enough to perform after a ranged block. The trap size is large and can be incorporated into an offensive attack (as shown in the video ie: uppercut into trap) and then combo out of the trap.

Oh I am fine with Cassie having some of her parents' moves. I just thought that she didn't at all or the ones she did, functioned different. But it seems they don't. That's fine by me. My point was, before the video I wouldn't mind if her parents made it in the game since their specials are a lot different. After the video, where I saw Cassie perform Johnny's exact same specials I really don't think he should make it in the game anymore. Jumping in the boat with the people that thought 3 characters with similar movesets are taking way too many spots in the roster tbh.

Well I'm glad to hear the specifics of Quan Chi's spell circles explained. It's my favorite variation so far, even though Quan's never been on my list of favorite characters.
But that's it. Pretty yawn-inducing for me otherwise. Well, MK9's marketing and reveals got ramped up around this time in 2010, so we should be getting new characters/features/story mode pretty soon. Hopefully we've reached the point where it turns from an occasional droplet to a steady drizzle.

I'll only agree once I see Johnny and Sonya. If they play the way they used to, I would be disappointed and generally consider them roster filler/wasted spots, because Cassie does share a lot with them. But I hope Johnny has new Seidan powers and maybe Sonya... maybe she's story-only; I can't think of a way to make her interesting with three variations, but I'm sure NRS can.

I still very much want Cage.
I need to see more of Cassie to determine if those moves were indeed special moves. If they are normals I see no problem at all. But Johnny could always play different if they are special moves Cassie does. They could give Johnny an entirely new moveset.
