Why are some fans calling Cassie and her crew the teenage Scooby Doo gang? Lol

I saw the thread title and thought it was about Jennifer Hale.
Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost specifically.

The people who only look for negative things to exaggerate.
"The main heroes are 5 years younger than the last ones? lol Scooby-Doo, Teen Titans, Kids Next Door, Mickey Mouse Club!"
Being cynical makes people believe they have high standards.

It's not as bad as I had anticipated. But still a plot device and a stretch to have 3 offspring and one shaolin just happen to be fighting together in this game.
It's kind of like the Star Trek 2009 movie. Kirk goes from suspended cadet to captain of a starship within the span of like 2 days and his friends just happen to all get promoted too. Takeda and his little teenage buddies are fighting against characters they have no business messing with at their age.

I'm wondering if people calling them the Scooby Gang has anything to do with how the crew of Buffy the Vampire Slayer eventually started referring to themselves as "The Scooby Gang" or "The Scoobies" later on in the series.

It is not that much of a stretch; when Ermac chased the group like a floating ghost through the sky I did think they were slightly like Scooby Doo, not in a bad way but it seemed out of place for MK and Ermac, who has become weaker in MKX but he has gained unlimited air time. If Ermac made ghastly screeches during that cut-scene then I could swear that I was watching a Scooby Doo animation.

They need a large talking animal sidekick now.

Or Reptile, since the next game might be DA/Deception based.

I'm fine with it. I mean, Johnny Cage was told to make a team of young fighters. Who better to grab (or to trust) than those who inherited from or trained with the old fighters?
That said, I still would've liked at least one of the team members to be unrelated to the old cast.

MK Rangers would be more appropiate, haha. (no hate towards Cassie's squad, btw)

I don't think they gonna be killed off that quickly
