There's a thread for the Kold War Scorpion design. Beneteau's work (this thread) has nothing to do with it.

It's not an either/or scenario. Your question is really 'Why wasn't this Ermac design included?' Bernard's on staff, so it's the same answer as any design choice in the game. Although, presently we don't even know that the design hasn't been included, so even that question is premature.

There were some truly terrific Kitana and Reptile designs that weren't used. It's always a part of the process.

Fact!
Some of Kitana's conceptual art they showed we've seen in game as Ravenant Kitana.
However Ermac's main does look like a super simplified version of this outfit... so I am not sure it might be different enough to make an alt... but fingers crossed cause i really do love it
Yeah this really should have gotten in as a costume.

Both of his costumes for X are just MK9 inspired but with less bandages covering his face. Rather uncreative.

They definitely used this as inspiration and like others have said: this is very difficult to implement into a game, a lot is going on with that costume.

Am I the only one who prefers the hooded mummy look of in-game Ermac to this artwork? This looks like a scarecrow. It's a cool concept but it's not what Ermac is all about.

I guess it would be cool with Farmer Jax?
