I can't speak for everybody but I'm getting the game because I like MK and the gameplay looks fun. I could just be crazy but that sounds reasonable to me.

The story mode, mastering your favorite characters, playing online, playing in tournaments, playing all of the single-player content with buddies.

Basically, the point of getting the game now is to play it.
