I like her, but I think she could use a slight redesign. I do think they could make her a really fun character to play though, they could give her some IGAU Hawkgirl type moves like the air charge and stuff, would be so awesome.

I'd definitely be up for the return of Nitara. Then again, I'd be up for the return of any 3D era character.

There's room for a vampire in the Mortal Kombat universe. The story with Ashrah's Kriss in Deception and Armageddon is something that they could go back to.

For those of you who forgot, the Kriss is actually a vampire killing weapon that was locked away in the Netherrealm by a vampire that managed to break free from its control. Ashrah found it and it controlled her into killing demons and made her believe she had to kill the vampires for the greater good. Nitara rushed to the pyramid to find the "power" to stop the blade.

Vaeternus is probably still fused with Outworld in this realm. Nitara could join Kotal Kahn's army and Ashrah could be lurking somewhere.

Well, you answered your own query. People were not talking about her because either they do not care about her or they wanted characters that had a higher priority than her.

I do not care for her to be honest. I do not hate her, just purely apathetic. She is a character that is just there, making up the numbers, which admittedly is not unique as I feel like that about at least a dozen or more characters. She has a solid design although the wings are tacky. I would rather they were gone. Specials, fatalities, and story are completely uninspired. Overall she needs a lot of work but is not unredeemable. Just needs more work.

I've wanted to have Nitara return for a while now. Definitely my favorite female character and I was bummed when Skarlet got put into mk9 and not her.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it stated in the comics that Nitara was the originator of Blood Magik?

Nitara isn't hated by most, just overlooked. I think MKX would've been the perfect game as far as atmosphere for characters like Nitara and Havik. What a miss.

I want to know more about the MK vampires especially.

She doesn't have much hype swirling around her due to the fact that she was one of the few that were straight out deconfirmed by Boon pre-release.

I like Nitara a lot though. Aside from Kitana, she was my favorite MKDA female. Definitely my favorite female newcomer. I kinda wish they would just give Skarlet's powers to Nitara so they'd have more to work with, but unfortunately it seems MK9 and the comics have sorta made Skarlet a "thing" again so who knows?

It brings more depth to the vampires of MK since their use of blood is actually based on magic.

She was a largely forgettable character in an era of MK that introduced pretty unpopular new characters. Being forgettable was more the fault of Midway(at the time) for not utilizing her other than as a pointless side character with an uninteresting (and ultimately irrelevant) story about finding an orb that'll allow her to separate her realm from Outworld.

Now, that may make her important to the Vampire race. Perhaps a leader or high priestess. She was clearly powerful...she was able to just randomly generate a portal that just sucked Cyrax out of Netherrealm and threw him somewhere into Earthrealm.

Poorly developed. She could really benefit from the overhaul in the rebooted series. .

Nitara was fine, but underdeveloped. Clumsy fat vampire girl :D I was to design female vampire fighter I'll give her freaking agility - 10 times more than ninjas, moves like hypnosis and venomous bite that drains health, eventually turning the opponent into a zombie. I'll give her a lot of flying moves, maybe invisibility, curses, ancient weapon cuz she was alive for centuries..

I'll give her a move when executed successfully she bites the other fighter and sucks his blood and that gives her something like power up and she becomes more faster, damaging and stone skin and so on..

So yeah, she was uninspired and unoriginal as most of the newcomers.

Agreed. The female fighters introduced during the 3d era were actually my favorites, particularly li mei and ashrah.

I am a real big fan of Nitara's. I was so freaking upset when she wasn't in this game but maybe MK11 will be her chance to shine.

This is where I think NRS really dropped the ball with the Story Mode is when we discuss characters like Nitara....characters who could've popped up and had something to do or say (however big or small) in the arc of the Outworld Civil War. We saw Kotal Kahn clashing with the Edenians but where was Skarlet? Where was Nitara? Where was Li Mei (aside from showing up in Earthrealm)? Where were the Centaurs? Where were the Shokans? It could've been so much more than it was.

And I'm not just referring to like an epic battle either. These characters still could've shown up for cameos just to explain who is on who's side and why.

A barrier for Nitara's inclusion in MKX would have been figuring out where she would appear and who she would follow.

Quan Chi had enough followers in MKX and if Nitara showed up during the 2nd confrontation at the Sky Temple with Shinnok, she would have been anticlimactically captured alongside D'Vorah. Kotal Kahn has no real connection with Nitara unless she joined the Outworld faction.

I like Nitara and I would have love to see her come back. Hopefully she will be back. She's one of my favorites back in Deadly Alliance.

I love Nitara! I want hem to make her into like a Vampire Pirate thing. I think that would be awesome. She was also one of the few females who accomplished everything she set ot to do. Shes a bad bitch.

In fact, as much as I like the character of D'Vorah...Nitara EASILY could've fulfilled that role - prime advisor, a powerful ally who helped Kotal Kahn ascend to the throne, secretly working for Quan Chi. It would lend far more credence to her being defined as an "evil" character, when she otherwise has had no presence in MK other than sending Cyrax into hot lava and throwing him into a random portal to Earthrealm that she apparently has the power to generate.

She's not as much in demand because there are already about a dozen characters who would be more relevant to MKX who haven't made the cut.

People talked about her a lot when Skarlet's blood gimmick was revealed. A lot of people, myself included, felt that it would have been better suited for a revampired Nitara.

I would live Nitara back, in MKX or beyond
