The price isn't the issue.

It's the fact that they knew core fans wanted other characters and were completely ignored in favor of bringing casuals back to the game because casuals can't resist guest characters. The casuals make up 90% of the game's sales. (Not an actual figure but I imagine it's close to that)

I don't think who the guests characters are is the relevant thing, but the quantity. Idk, it's like you buying an album you like but 4 soundtracks are from other artists. Some may like, some may hate, cuz they are buying something they like, and you usually want the full experience, so, if there were possibilities to put 4 soundtracks from the original artist, why put someone elses?

I feel like this isn't fully NRS' fault. WB's hands are touching the whole thing, and you know how companies can screw the artists' creativity over more selling products. To me it's like "ok we will give you the resources ($$$) to make another KP but you have to put X character so it can balance things (WB has to profit over it)" and NRS can't say no to that.
