MK3 did not have Scorpion, and MK:TE did not have Sub-Zero.

I don't know, however, if I could play a game that excludes both of them. It just wouldn't feel right. It's playing Soul Calibur without Mitsurugi and Voldo, or Tekken without Kazuya and Yoshmitsu.

Semi-surprisingly, yeah. We already had a game missing one or the other, so what prevents us from leaving both of them? Maybe a game where this rivalry is actually introduced later in the plot, and a logical, non-canonically fucked-up conclusion to said plot. And make them genuinely different, if not just a distant descendant.

Maybe for MK8, sure, I'd take the risk.

I would take the risk too but the sub and scorp fans would cause an outcry worser than the MKVSDC one all because they think their two characters are above everyone else.

Well that's because we have a thing called a mind. Minds, as a result of experiences and beliefs, form opinions. Since different people have both different experiences AND different beliefs, they thus have different opinions.

I'm sorry but I agree with Jaded. I would certainly welcome their absence. They are becoming pains in the ass more than anything. I'm sick of looking at them. Every game they are in, everyone else is over shadowed by their presence. No other characters of the MK franchise have been marketed as much as these two. Damn, not even Liu Kang the main hero of MK is treated as favorably as Sub & Scorp. Please get rid of them, put the focus on others please.

By saying it's stupid without offering an explanation, you're implying that the games need those two in order to be relevant to the franchise and be a good game; you may as well have said they needed to be in the game. Your opinion is very shallow and doesn't go beyond liking Scorpion's constant pursuit of someone to seek revenge on for the murder of his family, which has been the focus of his whole storyline since MK1.
Also, how is Scorpion pursuing Quan Chi any more interesting than when he was pursuing Sub-Zero? What stands out from Scorpion's vendetta with Sub-Zero, which ended in a final battle, and what you're proposing? It sounds exactly the same actually, except we're substituting Sub-Zero for Quan Chi.
And on a final note, to everyone calling MK vs DC "MK8"...
MK vs DC is not MK8 because it is not canon. The next official MK8 game will be MK8, not 9.

Since Midway is referring to the future MK project as MK9, it is highly illogical to call that MK8. As much as I dislike this fact... and MK for that matter we should not delude ourselves. Canon in storyline means shit, story in videogames like this is like story in a porn movie.
