i like Jade. I think she might be my fav female ninja esque character of them all. I like how in UMK3 she has to choose between Shao Kahn and Kitana, and she chooses Kitana. I think Tanya was a total ripoff of her. Anyways, i like her boomerang special, and that one special that reflects projectiles.

I really like her look in MKD/MKA. I think it was much better, as were her fatalities, because imo her 2d fatalties were craptastic. Her hara-kiri was hilaiorios as well!

All in all, Jade is a cool character with a good story; i hope she's in the next game, but she ain't in my top 15 characters who should be in MK8 though.

Jade is also one of my favorite MK characters... and I mostly like only the female characters.

I think she was one of the coolest characters in UMK3 because she was such an incredibly fast fighter. In fact, I think she was probably the fastest fighter of them all. I also think her "shake-n-bake" fatality is one of the coolest in MK history.

I loved her in the movie. I was very glad that they made her a super quick, effective fighter like in the game. I was just disappointed about two things: they objectified her when she first comes out, and she is evil. Other than that, she was perfect in the film.

I really like her MKD alt look. I think it's the best costume she's ever worn, excpet she isn't the fastest figher anymore. And I hate how her staff looks. I also hate how she fights because she moves so gracelessly in MKD/MKA. In UMK3 she moved extremely smoothly and pretty much looked cool when she would fight. In MKD, she looks crappy when she's fighting, but I still picked her a lot

I think she's better than Kitana and Mileena. Kitana is too much of a "pretty" damsel type. And Mileena, well the mainly interesting thing about her is her mouth. And unlike them, Jade actually has powers. Her vanishing winds is the best move she's ever had, as well as her shadow kick and projectile evade. Jade is definitely cooler than both of them to me. Plus her storylines have always been pretty good, especially her UMK3 one.

I think she's one of the MK characters that deserves more attention, more promotion. I hope she returns for next-gen, especially since I know she stands a better chance than my all-time fav, Sindel.

Jade is like a black version of Kitana. She's more stronger than her. Kitana is OK but I like jade better.

In MK2, Jade was a hidden character and I got 2 use her and she had Kitana and Mileena's powers. I wonder why. I also wonder why she had brown blood whenevr she wuz sliced or hit.

Anyway, on Jade's BIO it said on one line in one of the old ones that she even had to betray her friend, whitch is Kitana, to her master, whom is Shao Khann. So I'm wondering if she's neutral.

Okay, I'm pissed at how this thread has gotten such few responses since it was posted.

Where are all the Jade fans?

She's cool, fast, smart, strong, interesting, has cool moves and a strikingly eminent appearance.

Is she missing something? Or is that just the MK sluts get all the praise?

I think Jade is OK,in MKT she was pretty good,and she was good in MKD,but shes kinda slow now.And she's weak in MKA too. She's like a bland and boring version of Kitana imo.

I like Jade, and I see potential in her for the future games. It sucks that her storyline hasn't gotten much fleshing out. Her past needs to be explored, and she should step out of Kitana's shadow and be her own character. I don't have any concrete story ideas for her if she were to be in the next-gen games.

In terms of gameplay, Jade has always been pretty decent, never top-tier material despite her seemingly great cheapness when fighting her CPU in UMK3 and MKT.

I would've liked to have seen her use Fu Jow Pai, but Fan Zi Quan does suit her as well. I don't like the way the staff looks in MKD and MKA, and her style is definitely not Bojutsu with the way some of her moves are. If you want Bojutsu, look at Raiden's Staff style.

Anyways, Jade was fun to use in UMK3, okay in MKD. As a character, I do like her and her MKD looks.

She can kill whomever or go through whatever problems, but the truth is, Kitana's persona consists mostly of a typical, old-fashioned, delicate female.

Evertime she appears speaking, she's always so soft-spoken with little or no attitude. The only time she really showed some strength or aggressiveness in her personality was probably in MK: Shaolin Monks.

Even in the movies, she was depicted very reserved and delicate. Yes, she can kick ass and be a very bold warrior, but when it comes to her personality, it's just weak and delicate.

I'm not trying to say that I hate her. I simply want more fierceness from her.

In most of her pictures, she also appears more of like a "pretty" woman that a fierce warrior. Even Midway agrees that she's delicate, evidenced by how she was given a move named "Pretty Kick" and her famous fatality where she needs to kiss her victim on the cheek. It's everywhere, hon. Her bios, no matter how deep or tough they make her seem, do not make up for the little soft "princessy" personality that she carries.

She's my least favorite female ninja for this reason.

Once again... MKD alt was her best look. If only I could find a HD render of it.

She's an Ok character for both her storyline and powers.

I even found her more powerfull in MKD and MKA than in UMK3 and MKT.

But what happenned to her after MKT and the end of MKDA?

I just know she came too late in helping her best friend Kitana and the earth warriors again the deadly alliance. After that she freed Sindel without hesitating in attacking Kitana who was under Onaga's control.

I hope her MKD ending is canon. Tanya must be given a good lesson after all. Her betrayal is an insult.

Pros
+ Extremely loyal

+ Amazon look or ninja look, both are cool

+ Can be immune to projectiles, effectively making her a great Sub-Zero/Scorpion killer

+ Weapon style is extremely fast, versatile, damaging, and has superior reach

+ 3-Attack in Fan Zi is a very effective popup that can lead to all sorts of things

+ Has an infinite teleport-throw loop in MKA that can be easily exploited

Cons

+ Has only one (and rather crappy) low attack in Fan Zi. Blockers will have a field day with her unless you start to do throws.

+ She's as slow as Onaga! Every time I'm at medium distance and want to combo a whiffed move, the opponent recovers before I can get to them! I thought she was supposed to be the fastest and most ninja-like.

+ Short Fan Zi combos. 3 - 4 hits max. I guess the creators saw her super combos in MKD and were terrified.

+ Her face without her mask looks far too manly.


All that said, I love whooping some behind with her online. She's really very good, you just have to know how to use her.

One con I'm surprised you don't mention is her weak story. She's pretty much a Wedge-type character, being stuck in Kitana's shadow. I'd like to see her get out of that shadow and develop more into her own character as well as get a lot of backstory.

For her maskless look, I think she looks better in some renders than others.

D+4 is speedy, but it lacks reach. The enemy has to be practically giving her a gynecology exam for it to hit.

I too dislike her story a bit, though I think the rivalry with Tanya has potential to develop into something deeper than just the traitor/patriot duality. More drama would definitely spice up an otherwise bland and repetitive story. Then again, a lot of characters could use this.

Jade is definatly among my favorites. I wonder if she is royalty as well, seeing as she is best friends with Princess Kitana and has her own desert.

She always seems to give me trouble in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Trilogy. She is among my favorites in Mortal Kombat Armaggedon.

I never found her story very interesting but thats okay because I like her anyway.


I like her design change in Mortal kombat Deception and Armageddon especially her unmasked looked, though had I created her design, I would have made her Primary outfit less skimpy.

I think what would have solved the problem is simply turning those thigh boot into pants.

Lots of the time, mk-female skimpiness is very unnecessary. Li Mei's primary would have also been better if those boots would have been pants, I think. Just imagine it. Same for Jade.

Jade is a very cool character, I really really like the green female, but she needs serious development.

I too feel she has more attitude then her best friend Kitana, and she has the potential to carry on without fallowing the constant Edenian plot we are all used to. Jade has to get out of that shadow!

Her role in MKU and MKD have been kind of the same, nothing really that shocking, but not bad either.

I hope her story in MKA gives her true development, I love the rivalry that has been established between her and Tanya, could lead up to some interesting twists. She had a great ending in MKD.

Her look in MKD is no doubt her best, more then pretty, its mysterious and very Amazon like. She even looks latin and like a gypsy (like QS(TB) said). I LOVE what they did to Jade in MKD, she really needed an innovative costume. Both primary and alt are great, but her primary is her best.

Her special moves are good (except for the rip-off of Cages shadow kick) and her fatalities are fantastic!

Due to her new look, I think it's safe to say that she's not black - what everyone thought she was during MK2 and MK3.

I think she is Latin or Amazonian or she can even be Indonesian since they also have dark or tanned skin. I simply don't think she's black or African anymore.
