Why can't you just come along?

We're not inactive, Sub. Our clan just runs a little bit different from yours.

You guys (or MK4Life, I guess) did draw the idea of RP-style missions from our clan, but used it differently. I favor more complex, puzzle-like missions leading to tough accomplishments, whereas the Khan's Assassin's clan seems to shoot for making its mission straightforward and free, meaning everyone involved can pretty much act however they like. Obviously, this means that you guys are gonna get a lot more posts, because the members don't have to plan anything out or think too much about how the post should be constructed, they can just have their fun writing about their character and how they handle whatever situation is at hand.

So no need to mistake the intentional slow pace of the OIA for inactivity; I'm still around, and the members are still around, you guys can PM us or talk to us anytime you want and we'll be here. But, like I hope you guys saw from our last assignment, our missions are made to take a lot of time and a lot of good posts, I don't really like the idea of my members just posting away a bunch of things that there's really not much control and rules over.



I think this works for the OIA clan especially because the OIA is thought to be very technical and intelligent, and also because I like my members and myself to get some well-deserved Dragon Points for our hard-to-make posts (since they HAVE to be a good length and involve time and intelligent). This is what I wanted for all of us when we started the clan (I even ranked up to Warrior because of this rule the OIA has), and this is what we're accomplishing pretty well IMHO. True, we have to sacrifice the constant post-after-post effect that you guys have established, but I think given how the OIA clan is run, that's perfectly fine. And finally, I don't know if you were talking in character or out of character when you said you hope to be stronger than us when we become "active" again. If it was in character, then touche. If it wasn't in character, then I really don't know how you define "stronger" and would need to be explained about that a bit before I say anything in response.

P.S.: MK4Life, althought I really wish you would've talked to me before drawing ideas from the clan, I'm not gonna whine about it or give you a hard time, 'cuz that's just throwing precious time away and I also don't wanna interrupt your clan with things that don't deserve that much attention to begin with. Just have a talk with me if you ever wanna discuss anything like this in the future, please, since I honestly think I'm entitled to at least that after the work I went through creating the OIA and its hooks.

Dude, not everything is about ranking up. MKO is supposed to be fun, after all. We're just having fun doing our own thing. We'd rather be a Mortal, having fun, then a Warrior, always concerned with ranking up.

LeoBrZ81, I PMed you a long time ago regarding me taking this idea from your clan, way back when my clan was first starting. I waited and waited, but you never replied. So I just thought you didn't care and just went and posted.

SZ: Let me get this straight, this Roland guy, he's connected to Shinnok how?

Smoke: Simple, Roland's deceased father was a horrible criminal. He brutally murdered many, many innocent Edenian's. He was sent to Netherrealm in the afterlife. Roland's father was one of the key members who helped in Shinnok's overthrow of Lucifer in Netherrealm.

SZ: Ah...

Smoke: Now I have a question, why are we going to Outworld instead of Edenia?

SZ: We are going to meet up at the SKA's base first. No need to have to meet up in the enemy's territory.
*Grabs his scythe and Smoke's axe of rack.*

SZ: Let's begin our travel to the portal.

*The two are near the portal, when all of a sudden, an Oni pounces on Sub_ZER0*

Smoke: OH SHIT!
*Throws barrage of Shirukiens at oni, killing it.*

SZ: Why did you do that, I had him right where I wanted him.

SZ: Right, right, as if you don't owe me any. Let's go throught the portal.

*The pair enter the portal and arrive in Outworld, near the SKA's base.*

*The two see Reptile in the base's jail, scarving down a prisoner.*

Smoke: Reptile! Why are you eating, you must not be going on the mission are you?

Reptile: You guys can handle it, I need some relaxation time.

*the two meet up with MK4Life*

MK4L: I'm sure you guys know the deal. You want Roland, we want their leader.

SZ: Are you ready?

*MK4L grabs a arsenal of weapons*

*The three enter the portal, arriving in Edenia.*

I see what you're saying, but we're assassins, we just kill, it's our job. Especially if we're Shao Kahn's assassins.

If we were known for being smart and doing things in a well though out manner, I would have done so.

Frankly though, I find it a lot more fun reading other people's posts and never quite knowing where they're going to take the story, rather than setting things up so they have to do things a certain way.

As i munched down on the prisoner relaxing, I gave a farewell to my comrades, and wished them luck

Um... I don't really understand why that sentence of mine stood out so much to you. I'm not saying that DPs are all that matter, and I'm definitely not saying I'm always concerned about ranking up. I was just saying that I wanted to use my clan not only for fun, but also for getting closer to rank up, and the only way I could do that was by making strict rules that the posts on the assignments had to be thought-out very well and be very relevant to the last task given in my post. So I'm kinda sacrificing the freedom of the member's posts for a cause that I personally think is important.

I'm perfectly fine with you guys preferring the free-style posting. I can definitely see why you'd prefer it, too, since it has its advantadges (lots more posts, people have 100% freedom on what they do and what happens). I was just trying to say that I wanted my clan to run differently, so it's all good.

MK4Life, sorry if I didn't reply to that PM you sent me. My inbox is a real mess, and I get too many PMs at certain times, so it might've happened that I didn't see your PM and it got lost in the bundle, or maybe I never got it (MKO PM is known for errors). Either way, it's fine, you've used the idea of RP-style writing differently, after all, so it's not like you totally ripped us off, you kinda made it your own, which is an accomplishment in my book. So I'm not bitter over it at all, since you have your own style, after all.

-The portal opens to a section of Edenia, that is a vast desert. Far off in the distance, we can see a pearl white castle-

SZ: I'm gonna go ahead and guess that's it.

-The three walk past the desert-

M4L: Maybe it's just a mirage...but I keep seeing something over there....

-M4L points to a point in the sand, that seems to be shaking-

Smoke: No shit....I'll go check it out.....

-Smoke goes to kick the point in the sand. An underground tunnel of sorts is discoverd. Just then, three henchmen pop out of three similar places in the sand. Another one comes out of the hole that Smoke is hovering over, and uppercuts him. Smoke goes down hard-

SZ0: You alright Smoke?!

Smoke: Ughh...

M4L: They must've gotten word of our presence!

-M4L draws his war hammer-

M4L: I'll get these idiots...you watch over Smoke!

-SZ0 draws his scythe and runs over to Smoke-
