Great episode, and SmokeNC was a awesome guest. Really fun throughout the whole thing, I definitely want to see him again, and wow I really have liked every single guest so far. Everyone's been great, and that's awesome to see. The Sheeva discussion was really interesting too and it made me appreciate the character more. I still don't want her in the game, though. Oh and the competitive segment or whatever you want you want to call it sounds great. I would love to see how that plays out and if you have guests on it I wouldn't mind being a part of that. Good shit as always and keep it up

Also, what is the ending theme? It sounds like something from MK1 but I can't quite put my finger on it. I've been wondering this for awhile now lol

If you're talking about the Versus pod, that would be the Game Over theme from MK1.

If you're talking about the NetherKast, that's the Continue Theme also from MK1

Okay, so episode 17 was funny as shit. Extra props this week to Shadaloo, 10 Black Facts had me dying of laughter at work. Needed it badly. Yet another great, enjoyable episode.

As for Versus, I love the concept and thought the first episode was great and I completely agree with Temp's argument and the overall outcome of the episode. Very much look forward to the next segment.

Really loved the versus thing, Temp would make a great lawyer!

Sheeva retro (y)

Nice to hear that some of you are positive about her as well. I really hope she is in MKX. And if so, I hope she will be somewhat like what i've mentioned in previous posts/threads.

But a question, why do you believe she will be excluded just because Goro is in the game? There is no rule against having multiple characters with multiple arms ^^

Well guys nothing new was on the stream except we got to see Reptiles full fatality I know you guys are going to talk about that real soon. It reminds me of Kung Lao's full fatality with the head splitting open.

Because Goro does everything Sheeva does and he's already in the game. So the problem is that as it is, Sheeva offers nothing new in terms of moves or gameplay when compared to her cousin(not literally) character.

Also, I absolutely hate hearing my own voice.

There's this increasing tendency to portray all three of the Shokans as slow brawlers, and that was never the case originally. If they were following up on Trilogy-era behavior, Sheeva should at the very least be quicker, nimbler and more graceful, no less agile than your regular characters. She was never slow at all before MK9. Sadly they don't seem to see the distinctions that way these days; their viewpoint is likely that "one's good enough" as they lump their collective behavior together.

I can literally counter by saying that there is no need for Sonya/Johnny to be in the game, because Cassie is in there.
Or, no need to have Cyrax if Sektor is in there, No need for Kung Lao if Liu is in the game.
No need for Fujin because we have Raiden... And so on :P

So no, Goro does not replace Sheeva in any way.

Goro has been a boss. A slow hardhitting boss.
Sheeva started out fast, then went into a grapplertype character which I personally think is the wrong move.

As I have mentioned before. She has 4 arms! 4 arms doesn't have to only mean tighter grip on someone. It could just as well be a flurry of punches. Imagine if Sheeva had Kung laos new throw, or his spin. What if all her 1 button inputs = 2 punches.

I don't remember all of Goros special moves from previous games, but for me, and I guess for most of us, played Sheeva first. She was the one where WE could use the quakemove & teleportstomp for the first time.
If she would return, then yes, maybe she would need some new special moves.

Here's the difference in comparison.

The MK team treats Sheeva as a female Goro. She offers NOTHING different as she currently stands. And that last part is important, the "as she currently stands part". They COULD make her different, they SHOULD give her some variation and maker her different from Goro. But they haven't. They do the exact same thing.

Cyrax and Sektor do different things from one another. Cassie doesn't play like Sonya and Johnny even if she has the shadow kick. She's a different character.

Fujin isn't Raiden in presentation or playstyle.

The problem ISN'T the possibility of having a second shokan. The problem is that, currently these shokan play identically.

So the fact that NRS has failed, or at least hasn't seen it fit to differentiate between Sheeva and Goro in the past in moves and play style like they've done with Cyrax/Sektor, like they've done Cassie and her parents, that doesn't bode well for Sheeva now that Goro is in the game.
