That's not what the OP is saying at all...
He's asking who you guys think is the most iconic female Mortal Kombatant in the game.
I'm going with Sonya on this one because she was, after all, in the first Mortal Kombat video game.

Most iconic female?
I'm inclined to go with Sonya, but idk, Mileena has been gaining on her since 2004.

The Absolute truth of the matter is that Sonya Blade, and now, Mileena, are the most iconic females + poster girls of Mortal Kombat.
Between their popularity and their undeniable role as the "iconic female faces/representatives" of MK, they both rule all of our lives. Our world spins around them. Sonya's always had this role and Mileena started thanks to MKD.
...
That being said, Kitana is also very iconic and popular. And lovely Queen Sindel will forever remain the Queen of MK for being such a badass (now moe than everbefore) along side the fabulous Jade.

Sonya, definitely. With Kitana really close.
I really can't believe they didn't use her in the advertising of the game, but choose Millena instead. Not that i don't like Millena (well, to be honest i don't like her much in this game, but i loved her back un MKD/A), but i think that always will be "the girl" of Mortal Kombat, and the one non fans recognice the most.

Well, Sonya's been used for the advertising of all the other MK games for all these years (except MKD). Despite not being the main poster girl of MK9 (crown that Mileena rightfully deserved after being completely ignored from MKvsDC), she was still heavily used and revealed in videos, interviews, and screenshots. And once the game was out, we saw that Sonya was just as prominent and iconic as she's always been.
And lets not forget her glorious presence in MKvsDC, the game that proclaimed itself to be of "the most significant and popular" characters of MK.
Sonya is still up there, but, Mileena was a right choice for this game ('cause of the gore and 'cause of her absence in MKvsDC).

Mileena owns all.
Then again, yeah every one the females are the Queens.
Except for Sheeva. To hell with Sheeva.
