She was the only newbie female in MK4 and she is just that damn awesome!

She's an evil backstabbing biotch who looks fierce rocking yellow, has cool specials and gameplay, and gots oodles of potential as a villainess in the storyline

If you don't think she's interesting, no one will probably convince you she is. It's all just opinion.

I love latinas, native Americans, Indians and most dark skinned women. Therefore I love Tanya.

I like her MKD main outfit look. It's simple, yet stylish and sexy. The design is Edenian, being a leotard with high-heel boots, and the sash perfects it. Her MKD main outfit is one of the best female designs in my opinion.

I like that she is an Edenian female who is NOT a ninja type of character, but is more of a sorceress. She is an expert in magic and Edenian artifacts, and uses that knowledge for her own benefit.

I like her special moves, seeing as they are flashier and more stylish than many of the other female characters' moves, even Jade's. She uses fire as her main element and has the typical fireball, but also an aerial fireball which only Sindel has as well. But other than that, she imbues fire into her other special moves which revolves around spinning kicks, putting those long legs to good use.

I like her weapon stance in MKD and think she should keep those weapons as part of her main fighting style, like Kitana has her fans. I never cared for the boomerang, and Jade already has a boomerang used in her special moves. It is simply too tribal a weapon for Tanya, who I see as a more sophisticated woman. The tonfa blades are stylish and fast which I think is alot more fitting to her.

And I actually like her storyline. It's not the best, that I agree with, but it shows how she is a woman with an inner conflict. She is arrogant and selfish, thinking about her own survival more than anything else and therefore serves those in power with her grand knowledge of magic and Edenian artifacts, yet she misses her home and wishes to return to it, but because she is seen as a traitor of the Edenian throne, she can't return. It's a rather sad tale, really.

I would love to see her return as a DLC character for this game, maybe in the next batch of characters, or as the secret DLC we saw in the Skarlet vignette.

Ah, Tanya, my favorite female in MK..

So full of beauty, grace,and yet, so treacherous..

I have always loved Tanya. Ever since I was younger and played MK4/Gold.

Firstly, I love her design.

Though I'm not too fond of yellow, It completes her skin very well. But the golden color it became in Deception was even better.

My personal favorite look of hers is her Mortal Kombat Deception alternate. It was a creative, flattering and a non-skimpy update to her original costume.



Her primary in that game was a refreshing change and gave her a unique style and was one of the best female design in the series.



Secondly, her gameplay.

I don't really remember her well in MK4, but actually Armageddon was where she felt most fun. Deception, she felt slower and was more boring as a result of the stupid decision to give her fire attacks and remove her boomerang. Though she was roughly unchanged from Deception, she felt faster and was my main female.

I used her constantly and always had fun.

Thirdly, DAT BOOMERANG!

A badass weapon for a badass character. Unfortunately, she did not have in Deception or Armageddon. Hopefully, when she retruns she'll have it.

Others include:

Her potential. She can do great things. Only if the Team does great things with her. [Story/ Gameplay wise]. Her MKD bio mentioned that she longed to return to Edenia. They can expand on that. She has depth as character, but it is limited.

Her fatalites. I loved her Neck Snap and Kiss of Death from MK4. Those were her best, and nothing can top them.

What I dislike:

Tanya being chained up in the Coliseum. Hopefully, she'll be freed soon.



Her Deception Alternate costume featured Tanya with lighter skin. Idon't see why they changed the skin tone between alternate costumes.

Her undead eyes. She looked better with her brown eyes. Let's bring those back.

I liked her in MK4 because she seemed like MK's first "seductress" character. It wasn't made explicit, but the idea of her story seemed to be that she was jealous of everything the princess had and trying to take not just her realm, but Liu too, or at least was using her feminine wiles to lead him to his death. She even had that whole "sit with my crotch in your face before I snap your neck" thing as a move AND fatality.

I miss all that. If the Deception version of Tanya was the first one you knew or paid attention to, you'd totally think she was bland and had no character or story.

I also miss the boomerang. She had an ACTUAL boomerang-shaped boomerang in MK4, not a bladed circular thing like Jade. Those Talim-ripoff bladed tonfas in Deception were crap.

I agree with the Neck Snap fatality and her attitude in MK4 were really nice and should have been added to her Deception appearance, but I completely disagree with your opinion about her weaponry.

I really can't see the appeal to a boomerang. It doesn't fit her character at all and it is one of the most boring weapons ever, in my opinion. The tonfa blades are alot cooler.

But of course, that's just a matter of opinion.

Meh, I just think the "kobu-jutsu" is an ugly and impractical weapon that doesn't fit her character and was only put in the game because everybody had to have one in that generation. At least with a boomerang, she's got something in common with Jade, like...whatever region of Edenia their ethnicity is native to (the desert?), perhaps thrown weapons that come back to you are part of the culture. And it'd be nice if one of them had a "boomerang" that's ACTUALLY a boomerang and not some bladed wheel thingy.

I will say that Tanya is the only character in the entire series I hate. She's a backstabbing bitch who is beyond redemption, and is a horrible human being. Granted, I think Quan Chi, Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, etc. etc. etc., are all horrible people, but at least I EXPECT THEM to be horrible. They are sorcerers and overlords of power and hate.

Tanya is a walking cancer of envy and passive aggressive anger working for an ultimate goal to screw everyone over and benefit only herself.


That aside...I love her because I hate her. I want to punch her square in the face simply because I hate her so much, but at the same time, I want her in any game. I understand why people like her, and I have no issues with people who like her. And I'm not even one of those people who say shit like, "Well, I'll just use her as a test dummy".

No. The bitch is ruthless, but I don't stoop to her level.

The main reason I like Tanya was her amazing gameplay back in MK4, her first game. She wasn't as fun to use in later games as she was much slower, but hell, everyone was slow in MKDA-MKA.

Also, I liked her ending in MK4, I thought she was a good character and then BAM that loud bitchy laughter started and Liu Kang got killed- beautiful!

Oh oh, lol can't believe I almost forgot this, I loved her screams of pain in MK4, especially when you'd do a bone-breaking grab.


I think she's like Rain in a way, she's got a good amount of fans but she definitely has a good amount of haters as well.

I'm sorry, I don't see how Tanya looks like a maskless ninja. There's nothing about her that screams "ninja wannabe" on her whatsoever, especially with her updated Deception look.

Her story wasn't that bad either. She's a Grade-A traitor! She really is. I'm pretty sure half the users, or maybe all of the users here would have thought that Tanya was another good character by looking at her portrait, then watching her ending, be stunned that she's a bitch after all.

Everyone's move in Mortal Kombat is basically generic at this point. I really don't think there's been a really interesting original move since... God knows when.

But she's one of those evil characters that you know is the biggest prick in the pack, but still is someone that you gotta appreciate because she's really gone a long way up until Armageddon to fool/trick/betray a heck of a lot of people and or creatures... Canon or not, if she could betray the Dragon King like she did in her ending... What do you not like about that?
