I wish that they didn't make Noob Saibot a zoner, I hate zoning. I've strayed away from him as my favorite now. I wish he were like Sub-Zero, or Sonya, maybe Nightwolf. I just hate that he has slow combos, and very little good combos. Also, people just spam with him (and imo he look stupid when his primary takes a bunch of damage and his mask is torn apart, I hate that) he's such an awesome looking character, and he's a freaking zoner.

Look at that video, it's ridiculous. That Sub-Zero player wasn't the best, I'll admit, but that's a prime example of what I'm talking about.

Noob doesn't need a nerf. Anyone who thinks that is dumb. He is pretty weak. Alot of ppl dont use it properly. Whenever I play king of the hill online with noob, i always get at least 2 ppl to give me 10 respect points because I actually do insane combos with this guy.

he has high combos with overhead, he has lowcombos, he can combo into a blackhole trap, he can combo into a running shadow man, he can combo into an x-ray and he can combo into a teleslam.

In the corner, he can combo with the ex-shadow knees relentlessly for 50% damage, If using shang tsung and turning into noob saibot, you can do 73% combos with noob in the corner. Still doesn't need a nerf.

Noob saibot is combo heavy just people don't try.

Just be fucking good at the game and you won't have a problem! I mean, calling somebody a "scumbag" for spamming a move? Fucking gimp.

Oh look, a noob is calling me a gimp, what ever shall I do? You must be a spammer yourself if you got offended by my comment, and if you are one, fuck you. So tuff behind duh internetz. Try to be a spammer back in the arcade days you would've gotten your head pummeled through the arcade screen asshole.

Dude, you're so right. People think it's easy to spam from the comfort of the home, but come to a tournament or like back in the day, in the arcade and do that crap.

I was using Noob more frequently as of late and while I obviously use his shadow clones, I rely more on his combos and tricks than simply sitting on one side of the screen and throwing the clones non-stop, it might be a legitmate strategy (i.e. zoning), but I do not feel right playing him that way, I'd rather lose than say I won because I did shadow clones non-stop and zero combos, that's just me though.

Yep. "Zoning" isn't even in my gaming vocabulary. If I see it as spam hards, than it's most likely spam. I try to win with my combos. Not how many times I try to throw a projectile and pray they don't pick up what I'm doing before they block.

So this "zoning" strategy makes you an elitist. Wow. Sure takes a lot of effort and skill to be a good "zoner".

I usually use his combos more than his specials. Or I mix it up a little bit

Mine neither, I consider it excessive cheese and to be honest, most of the so called zoners have nothing else in their arsenal, once people pick up on their garbage and get in close, the fight's basically over.

I always find that humorous, zoning requires nothing of the person
performing it, no timing or thought, just reptitive button mashing.

I don't get the point of even wanting to play the game, aside from the point it's annoying, it isn't fun for either party, I can dispatch most of these people easily, but that's aside from the point, it's still boring and stupid.

I mean even when I'm getting destroyed by my opponent, I never go, "hey maybe I should sit in the corner and shoot Stryker's gun and grenades nonstop and hope this saves me, it's just stupid.

How is it simply "repetitive button mashing" when the person knows EXACTLY what they want to do. Whether it be a special move or a combo. In this instance, I can make the case of saying that people who perform bnb combos over and over are considered "button mashers" since they are pressing buttons to perform certain tasks that they KNOW will happen. If he presses buttons to throw out a shadow clone and he knew exactly what he wanted to throw, how is that considered button mashing?

And for the "it's not fun for both parties" please don't speak for everyone. I for one have fun zoning with Noob and knowing that my strategy prevents my opponent from even making physical contact with my character. It's hilarious

Repetition is doing the same thing in succession, that's a fact so that's how it's repetitive button mashing. Your question makes no sense, it doesn't matter whether the person wants to do it, it's still repeating the same move, desire to do it or not is not relevant.

Switching things up and doing different combos with your specials requires thought, strategy and effort, doing the same special move repeattedly doesn't.

and

I'm going to repeat myself, it's not fun, even if you have fun, the person you're playing isn't going to be like, "hey I hope they keep using the shadow clones exclusively, this is so much fun !" I would love to see someone say that with a straight face.

I don't think Noob needs a nerf nor am I advocating for it, you can play however you want, but I choose to not play that way, so whatever, getting a laugh out of doing the same moves is childish.

Personally I don't see what's fun in doing the same move over and over when the fighting engine in this game is designed and catered for you to be creative with your attacks. I'd have more fun pulling off a well practiced 12 hit combo online as Mileena then I would if I constantly spammed her Sai Blast.

I agree with the point made that it's not fun to fight against either. Whilst I recognise that every fighter is going to do what's necessary to win a match, I see no skill in repeating the same move over and over, nor do I find it very challenging to go up against. If anything it's more irritating than amusing or pleasurable.

It is boring, and while I'm somewhat in the mentality of ''play to win'' I don't encourage it outside tourneys. Like you won't win anything online so just play for fun. Unless you have fun spamming which I will agree is sometimes funny lol but not all the time. For instance when I fight a spammer, I have fun spamming back.

Talk about nerfs and buffs has everything to do with matchups since clearly characters are only strong or weak in reference to each other. Because of that the discussion necessarily has a lot to do with strategy and gameplay. I think Strategy is a much better place for this.
