People shouldn't be surprised at 14 new characters. They've said its the most new fighters in a single game, the most before was 11. That leaves at leas 12+. Plus the Sub-Boss might be new.

I'm def. okay with this rumor if it's true. I want to see a lot of new faces this time around. They can do classic dlc.

I would be bummed too. She's my 2nd fav character but honestly I'm used to her getting no love. I mean MK9 was for MK1-MK3 characters to be fleshed out and she was just standing there getting her ass kicked -.-'

I'm sure you guys play other fighting games, these rumors happen all the time (look at any Smash Bros. forum and watch as every other week we get a "my friend passed me along this information" post). Specific character deconfirmations, vague details, and just enough "wasn't too sure" tidbits to keep it sounding real, this is all pretty obviously fake.

I have no doubt that we'll get a leak and see a snippet of something soon, but not this soon. The game was announced not that long ago, I doubt anybody can just go to NRS and see all this in action quite yet.

Oh it's bullshit but that doesn't make it any less fun to speculate about. 14 new characters is too many in my opinion but if that was true I'd be so thrilled over the supposed 8 MK4-MKD characters. At this point I'm only expecting 3-4 MK4-MKD faces, so 8 would be a great amount. Altogether we would have 16 returning warriors and 14 new ones, I could get down with that if it meant more MK4-MKD characters.

Some seems true and some doesnt. like the Kotal Kahn thing and Sheeva not being in the game. Idk about the whole 30 character thing but could be true because post mk4 there were barely returning classics in each game with the exception of Scorpion, Sub, and Raiden. I think the only shoe in post MK3 characters are Fujin, Tanya, Kenshi, and Shinnok. Havik and Bo are more than likely to be in but you never know.

The only thing I can figure is that Kotal Kahn was the elder god Shinnok had to answer to back in the day, and now that Shinnok has escaped the Netherrealm, Kotal Kahn has come to personally hand him his ass.

8 postMKT characters? Sounds too good to be true.
And only 8 MKT chars? A little too less to be true.
Hence, maybe its true.

Besides, I think, they always can release "missing characters" as DLC, if there is enough demand for them. And another thing: IGAU showed, that people are interested in DLC characters, so this time there can be more of them.

The worst thing for me, is that DLC characters probably won't get alternative outfits, they aren't part of the storymode and they are overal less than the ones that make it into the game.

So all my favorites better be in there! (Most of them spare for Smoke, Shang Tsung, Kabal and Noob Saibot survived the blood game anyway!)

I'm going to go ahead and bank on "Kahn" being a god-related kind of surname for outworld beings. Just a hunch. We know Shao Kahn had a very different role before his hostile takeover. Perhaps Kotal Kahn is like a Fujin of Outworld?

I seriously doubt he is an Elder God although that would be amazing.

So:
Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Quan Chi, and Kenshi would most likely be out of MK9

and:
Fujin, Tanya, and Shinnok from MK4-MKA

those are the characters that are most believable, obviously anyone else like Ermac, Havik, etc. are possible but the ones mentioned are like the 'duh of course they'd be in' characters.

Couldn't really see Mileena being in without Kitana given the way they dumbed her down in MK9.

Bring on the new character count; that's an excellent number! Hope that is true, at least.

Well I wouldn't be too sure about the alternate costumes. Fans bitched to high heavens last time and they finally received the alternate costumes...though they were exclusive to the Vita, which I thought were stupid. It's possibly that they've learned their lessons and will just give alternate costumes for DLC characters right off the bat.

Did they give alternates for the DLC Injustice characters? I haven't played that game much.

14 new characters, 16 returning and DLC for all the classics is perfect. You can make the story go foward without forcing some characters to return just because, and you make tons of money on DLC.

So with Scorpion and Sub-Zero already reveiled... that means only 6 more characters from MK9.

I really hope it are evil characters, not Johnny Cage and Sonya blade...

We could get more then 11 new fighters maybe even 14 since ed boon did said that mortal kombat x will have more new new fighters then any mortal kombat before inculding the first mortal kombat
