^Prince of Persia was hella boring.

And anyways, what if a once rival company bought them? Namco maybe?

I'd rather Warner get them than Namco

Then you'd get weird non-MK joke characters regardless of whether or not it's a crossover.

Ubisoft has had it's struggles also, outside of POP and AC, they haven't really stuck out. Red Steel was horrible.

You seem to forget that Ubisoft handles the Tom Clancy franchises which includes Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, HAWX, and Rainbow Six. The Rayman Rabbids series has been doing great as well, and so is Far Cry 2.

They're also the publisher for No More Heroes.

NMH wasn't bad, I admit(could have been better) Tom Clancy you're right I forgot about, but speaking of which Splinter Cell has been MIA for a while now. I heard they're supposed to make a new one soon....

I don't know, I just think there's better companies out there then Ubisoft IMO. I also happen to chat with/know one of two guys that's on Ultimate Gamer WCG one of worked on COD:WAW and told me Ubisoft has it's inside struggles and isn't in the best shape of late. Not as bad as Midway but not the best company right now either.

Activision is actually one of the betters ones currently, another company I wouldn't mind perhaps getting MK.

Whoever buys MK should make sure they focus on making games well instead of making games fast.

But that's probably not ever going to happen.

If you mean, they're good at absorbing studio's with proper talent, bleaching them of any and all potential, and shipping out generic variations of the same game on an annual schedule then sure they ARE one of the better ones.

It'll only be twice as bad as what Midway has been doing all along I suppose.

It's working for Sony and Polyphony Digital, as well as Square/Enix. Both FF13 and Gran Turismo 5 are taking AGES to come out...although there's no guarantee that either will be any good.

The funny thing about this is that Warner Bros already has the rights to the last two MK movies so their already a step ahead of the other two companies in talks about buying midway.

Warner Brothers also own Mk Conquest series too so I will have no doubt in my mind that WB will take MK on board :) and ill be quite happy if this does happen

Marvel now owns the rights to all of the Malibu created Mortal Kombat characters, since they bought Malibu in the late 90's.

Just sayin'

Wouldn't it just be awesome if the private investor turned out to be Boon or Tobias? Don't know where Tobias would get the money, but still... One can dream...

the problem there is that by themselves they probably wouldn't have the money to back themselves even if they can afford to buy out the company once it comes to developing the next game. I assume they had a lot of creative control when with Midway, just time constraints. Seems like it would be worse if they bought Midway and had to depend on themselves for $$

okay i think that warner bros will destroy MK we will never see gory and bloody fatalities
so i have to say no to WB they cant satisfy MK fans in mk vs dcu one kano's fatality was doing a grapple
and sub zeros freeze fatality when he grabs the oponnent after he shatterd his opponent no blood just ice cubes

im saying that WB cant take over midway or mk
they would get much money and benefits
BUT it will never be the same

ubisoft... its not a really big company compared to like unversal and wb but that is what could make it work maybe the will buy it and its not ubisoft longer like midsoft or ubiway(wont happen but i liked the name)

blizzard...interesting but they would make to much WoW expansions and such

activision ...NEVER

sony ... nah it would make MK to a ps only game (big chance)

microsoft... same as sony except it would be maked for pc to

so this is my opinionwow

You've obviously not read the previous posts in this thread.

There is plenty of reasoning behind why the DC crossover was sanitized, and there is absolutely ZERO indication that a stand-alone MK would be sanitized the same way, especially when uber-gory titles like Condemned 2 and FEAR came out from WB, proving they aren't afraid of gore.

Ubisoft *IS* a big company (one of the biggest 3rd parties in the industry, actually), and they've had several successful franchises.I mentioned the VERY successful Tom Clancy games along with Assasin's Creed and its forthcoming sequel.

World of Warcraft would have no affect on Mortal Kombat were Blizzard to buy it. They currently have 3 games in development, and they're all being developed separately. MK would be the same.

I personally don't care about the company's logo, I care about the quality of the game. So WB is fine for me.

lol, that's an interesting take on it. Yeah, don't get me wrong I'm not like an Activision fan or anything (they're success is mainly due to GH no doubt) especially of late but in comparison to Ubisoft, I'd take the former in that one but fully support WB here honestly.

As some others have mentioned, WB has made some dark, gritty games Condemned, FEAR series and now the newer Batman:AA looks sick.

BTW, speaking of absorbing studios and other companies EA has to be one of the worst with that lol.
