Yes, Midway Games, who is in charge of the Unreal Championship titles for the X-Box, will include Mortal Kombat characters. IGN has posted the new trailer for the game. This FPS, already familiar to many PC gamers, will probably feature Fatalities - the command "Finish Him!" is very noticeable in the trailer. It will also feature "special guest appearances from another realm" (it flashes the MK dragon symbol across the screen as it mentions this!)


This will come as no surprise to avid readers who have noted MK characters making cameos in Slugfest 2005 and Psi-Ops as well.

GameDaily has posted what has to be one of the most significant videos yet concerning Midway's upcoming Mortal Kombat: Deception: the opening cinematic! Without going too much into detail (so as to remain spoiler-free), it tells the final fate of the Deadly Alliance and shows the aftermath of that final confrontation.

IGN got to do their own hands-on preview, this time on Midway Aracde Treasures 2. One of the more interesting things mentioned was that the emulation is not 100% finished, with Mortal Kombat II and Mortal Kombat 3 only running at about half-speed at this point in time. (Not mentioned in the article is that at E3 earlier this year, Midway had the first Mortal Kombat running at perfect speed.) Also mentioned is that the GameCube version is coming the furthest along.  Here's some praise for the MK games near the end of the article:

Twenty bucks for twenty games is never a bad deal. But when those twenty games are award-winning arcade hits...that's one hell of a package. There are a few games, like the Mortal Kombat duo, that are worth the pricetag alone. Midway Arcade Treasures 2 shouldn't be missed, no matter if you're an old-school gamer or someone who's never even experienced the originals when they hit the gameroom those many years ago.

Yes, GameSpot has done it again... 5 more videos! The coolest is the one featuring Kabal vs. Kobra. The also posted an additional 6 screenshots - including what appears to be Kira in Konquest Mode.

The folks over at GameSpot have updated with 5 brand new GamePlay videos of MK: Deception. One of the fights is Darrius vs. Dairou, eliminating once and for all the rumor that they are the same character. We've also got some nice clips of Nightwolf vs. Mileena, and a Sub-Zero vs. Ermac battle. Finally, we're treated to a Chess Kombat and Puzzle Kombat movie.
