Anyone else turn off the blood in the MK games?

Last week me and my friend were playing MKG and just decided to not use blood. I don't know we both agreed it feels more like a fighting game when we played that way and less of a fatality demo. Since then, we play MK games now with no blood. Just wanna know if i'm the only person here who doesn't give a fuck about the blood anymore? It's what got me into the MK universe but anymore it's just a chore to watch that cheesy blood splatter everywhere. I guess I'm just not amused by violence like I used to be.

It has been an extreeeeemely long time since I gave the slightest bit of a crap about violence or fatalities or blood in a fighting game. I never went through the effort to turn it off in MKT for PSX, my only console MK at the moment, just because its turned back on the next time I turn the game on. The people I play against also do not care one bit about the violence blood and gore. We play to push the limits of gameplay, and to enjoy what are some of the best fighting games there are. Its a little annoying that so few people see past the flashy blood and fatalities and end up ignoring good gameplay.

I turned the blood down on MK-DA but I thought the game was missing something so I put it back on MAX.
I don't turn it off but it isn't a big deal.
This is exactly why I don't understand why people were throwing a fit with the one fatality thing in DA. Sure, Fatalities are pretty cool to see the first week the game is out but who hasn't seen them all a million times by now? It's not like adding one more per character would prevent you from seeing them all and not caring anymore after the game was a few weeks old.

Because the MK community that focuses on the gameplay and story is far outweighed by the people who play for blood and secrets. That poll sent me into seizures I swear.
I noticed too after playing a week without blood, it's far easier to focus on what you're doing on screen. No distractions.

just want to remind everyone that MK wouldn't have ever gotten past MK1 or MK2 without blood and fatalities. Sure, the fatalities get old, but some of the really good ones are always a joy. And besides, a fatality is like a final way of saying 'fuck you' once you've won the match. I'd rather unscrew someone's skull and eat their brain when it says 'finish him' than to kick the guy in the knee and watch him fall on the ground like he slipped on a puddle of oil. The thing that got me about MKDA was that all the fatalities flat out sucked ass, so I really don't care for any of them. I don't play MKDA much anymore anyway, it got old after about 2 weeks. When it comes down to it, I have never played MK without blood(except at rest-stops along i-95, since violence in video games seems to be illegal at such places), and I never plan on it.

I play that way all the time...it's the only way to play in public without offending anyone. I know what you're thinking, "Screw anyone who doesn't like it!"...well, if the only way I can play at a video game store is to have the blood off, then I'm all for it. MK is fun as hell with or without blood/fatalities.

If MK's name ever gets drawn for a big tournament like ECC (yeah right) or any tourney for that matter, I say they should turn blood off as part of the rules. That's why "L337" fighting game players shun upon MK because of the blood. So maybe we could show them there's more to it than that if we get the chance. Right gang?!?!??!

not really...but thats my opinion, and yours is cool with me.

Blood or not I don't really care. I'm just too lazy to turn it off so I just keep it the way it is.

The UMK3 tournies I've seen all had blood turned on but the people running the tournies would never go through the effort of turning it off and besides, only hardcore MK fans would play in a tourny so there wouldn't be many people to offend and they don't need blood off to remind them that gameplay is what makes it good.
I dont turn off blood, but fatals, IMO, after the first time you see them are boring. It didnt bother me in the least that MKDA had only one fatal per char, but they get so damn boring so damn fast. I remember back in the day when I would get so excited when I saw a fatality, even if it was done by my opponent. Now they just put more time between me and my next opponent.

I said MK6. If it gets the call for a tournament with other fighting games, it would be a good idea. Not just for offending people but people that are there that just watch games being played that hate MK for it's blood, it'll be a good way to show them there's more to it than blood. If MK is ever going to be a serious fighter amongst the fighting game genre, things have to change.
