Hey, I was at a local pizza place the other day and I was playing MKII when I noticed that the purple background for the outworld actually looks like the MKDA Shang Palace and Palace grounds!! The detail that the guys keep in the continuing story of the MK saga is incredible!!

It's to bad that Quan Chi and Shang Tsungs palaces were built in MK:DA and didn't exist in MK2. Sorry to disapoint.

I hated Deadly Alliance I thought it sucked. It was an ok game, but it was not a MK game.MK2 is one of my top favorites its tied with MK1.But I likeed all the MK's until Deadly Alliance.I know people will get mad about this comment but I think John should go back working with Ed or create a MK of his own instead of Teo Feng.I like the idea of rereleasing the origional MK's in 3d with new secrets.

Even though I really liked MKII alot and I played it until I couldn't resist anymore... I have to say that... My favorite is MK3/UMK3/MKT for classic kombat... MKII gets way too boring, especially with the corner trick which is the fundamental way to play MKII, I even rather play MK1 nowadays than MKII... I'm not saying MKII sucks at all... The backgrounds and overall graphics are awesome, but I like MK3's also... plus the run button, the dial-up combos, the two level stages... The tons of selectable characters in UNMK3/MKT the endurance rounds... All this wonderful stuff makes me (today) play much more MKT/UMK3/MK3 than MKII and that's an important issue for me because the replay value is what makes a fighting game a good game, not just nostalgia or quality graphics (and for me MK3/UMK3/MKT's graphics were as good as MKII's)

I disagree. yes MK2 is a great game, but I liked MK3 better. -_-

Exactly, mkda doesnt feel like mk at all, I still think that mkII and mkt are the best mks. I havent played mkda since like february. Once you get everything it has no replay value

MKII is hands down the greatest MK game ever created and I believe the best fighting game in existence.
I still say it's the best one, even in direct competition with what's out now.
The mood is perfect, the sound is absolutely incredible, and the engine is genius. The game does have combos, but they are very difficult to pull off and not part of any formal combo system.
It's just an incredible game. It will probably never be duplicated, but I think MK:DA is definitely on the right track.
One thing I hate is we never got a proper home version of MKII. Hopefully, it will be an easter egg in MK6.

Nothing's bigger than MK2.
In Germany you aren't allowed to enter Arcades when your not 18. So me and a friend decided to go to Spain for 2 weeks in order to find an Arcade with MK2.
As soon as we arrived we started searching. And in the second Arcade we found it. My friends was looking at the crappy Virtua Fighter Machine while i was throwing the first coin in MK2 machine an started drooling. As he realized what happend the fight began. in this two weeks we put all our money in this machine. i must have been something about 600 DM thats abous 300$. This game changed my life. I loved it an i still love it. Playing minimum once a week on Snes or on MAME.

Whoa, what are we, nerds? People are fighting over MK? No offense, but that's not cool.

I like MK2 but I have to say I prefer MK Trilogy. Because I played that game for years when it was released in 1996 in the UK. I stopped playing it in the year 2000, and the brief period I had Street Fighter Zero 3 which broke when I played the game for over 400 hours.
Trilogy had the most characters so in turn I think it's better. To me the only thing MK2 has over it was the atmosphere of the game and the Fatalities which I have to admit I missed badly when MK3 came out. But they improved the gameplay which is really what counts for me.
PEACE!!!!

i prefer the first mk. its just so classic and is the most realistic of the series, though i guess mk2 is equally as good...but then so is...ah theyre all good!
i have no idea how people can compare mkda to tekken though-i see absolutly no resembalence at all.

No, I won't "admit" anything..becuase DA is my favorite. MK2 is a close second though. I hope MK6 beats them both out with jaw dropping depth, visuals and story. Look forward to playin yall online.

Yeah I'm down with 2.
1 seemed rushed and as I come to find out it was.
3 and U3 added too much and got over whelming
4 was a mess
Trilogy I haven't played
and DA I need to get to Komplete my XBOX fighter collection (along with MK cousin Tao Feng)
I gotta say though I was never much of an MK fan until I started playing the other day. I'm more of a Street fighter, KOF person. but MK cool to me now.
