Maybe most controversal, but best fighting game of all time? I know it is opinion, but how can he choose MK1 over MK 2 and UMK3?

I think it is funny that they took an image fro DaveMK.com. You would think that G4TV could capture their own images from the game.

Well it's easy for them to say they think MKDA is the best fighting game ever made since it sounds like they don't play fighters. Its not like their words are more truthful because they are on TV. Its just that when people see reviewers on TV they think the reviewers know what they are talking about. For some games they do. I think playing Jak 3 for 3 hours is enough to learn what parts of it you really like, but a fighter takes so much longer that reviewers will apparently never put in the time to actually say intelligent things about them, thus MKDA is claimed to be the best fighter ever on TV.

Seriously folks, who do these people think they are? It sickens my heart to hear that MKDA has any recognition from anyone on the planet that it ever existed, let alone the best fighting game ever, not even the MK series, EVER. All fighting games. MKDA > SF3 3rd Strike = False. They say MK is the best series, that is GREATLY debatable, but to say MKDA is the best of that series would tend to make people believe MKDA is the best fighting game ever.

Just forget about it all. Another G4 show said Guilty Gear XX sucked because you could beat anybody by mashing one button. Others have claimed that the DOA series is not mediocre. The closest thing to a truthful fighting game review on G4 was from XPlay which said Virtua Fighter 4 Evo was one of the best fighters ever, and that Def Jam Fight for New York was indeed better then Mortal Kombat Deception (or DA or 4 for that matter).

Anyways, yeah, it kinda shocked me too. MK1 is fun, but I am not sure it deserves best fighting game. Heck, I Iiked SF2 better back then...the control seemed tighter and the collision seemed more on key.
Basically, I have stopped listening to reviewers and what not. What it comes down to is another person's biased opinion. No matter what claims a reporter of any type makes, there is no such thing anymore as an "unbiased" review, especially in this industry. It basically comes down to another person's personal opinion, and personal tastes, which for some reason makes it important because that person got the right to put his or her opinion in print.
MKD made me see this the most. Look at the reviews. They are super high in some sources, super low on others, and yet others rather average. With a spread like that, tell me how reviews anymore aren't biased in some way, and tell me why I should listen to any reviewer's "opinion" anymore.

Anyway, if it were up to me, I would've used MKII as an example.

MK2 would have been a way better choice than 1 IMO. The gameplay alone was a lot better. That's the time I really got into MK in the first place. MK1 came out and I was like "ok, that's pretty cool". MK2 came out, and I was blown away.

I couldn't believe he said it. MKDA best fighting game ever.... those words don't belong anywhere near each other.

They claim that MK is the best fighting series ever when they have barely played any of the other fighting game series?

As much as I love MK, I'm the first to admit it isn't the best fighting game franchise ever.

How they can come to this conclusion when they haven't played the other games is truly mind-boggling.

I haven't played many fighting games really, I'm not much of a fan for games like Tekken (Although I only played Tekken Tag Tournament). The two games that I have good memories of are Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. Mortal Kombat 2 and 3 were my favourites from the series, although I haven't tried the newer MK games yet. Mortal Kombat is the only fighting game that I have been able to play fast and interesting fights in and I've always loved the graphics. I didn't like Mortal Kombat 1 as much as the later games but it was still decent, especially for it's time. Looking forward to playing Deception... I like the blend of realism and fun in the MK games and I just hope it doesn't dissapoint me. I doubt it though since I even loved Mortal Kombat 4. :D

The guys who write for that show are obviously idiots, there is no way mortal kombat is the best fighting games ever, street fighter 2 anyone?!!!!!!! and MkDA, right yeah hmmm.

MK2 was fine... but MKDA and MK:D don't belong in this world. The fact that MK:D is the most flawed fighting game on the planet (as it was produced by ignorant and incompetent people) is unknown to them, which means they have no idea what they're talking about.

Those kind of reviews piss me off... I wish the reviewers fired. And shot.

well for me the OLD MK's (MK1 - MK2 - MK3 - UMK3 (arcade) ... and probably psone version of MK:T) are the best fighting games ever ... but 2 player wise i would say UMK3 is probably the best (arcade wise).

single player wise i think i would go with MK3 cause i luv abusing kabal's 68percent 10hitter on the CPU.

ALL other fighting games to me (with the exception of Killer Instinct 1) feels like your just "jamming on buttons" ... which sucks... cause all those tekken/virtua fighter/soul calibur/ etc etc and the list goes on, flat out suck in my opinion.

the NEW 3D MK's are not bad but out of the 2 new ones (MK:DA - MK:D) i liked Mortal Kombat Deception more since pulling off combo's in MK:DA was much harder and sorta ruined the game for me... cause standard combo's in MK:D are much easier to pull off... u just start hitting the button sequences and it just works... MK:DA has a weird timing or something cause it's hard for me to do combo's on it.
