It's not hacking, it's cracking, How many times do I need to clarify that? ='(

well whatever it is, he has done a good job, not that much of a big deal like everyone is goin on about it...
well every character should have their own file, if there isnt anymore extra files of other characters that we dont know, then that means theres no more characters!

This stuff is fantastic - it'd be really cool to re-text Konquest mode! And I assume that the in-match style names are pictures as opposed to text on a spear picture?
Would be cool to edit the style names if at all poss.

I dunno, Garret's still trying stuff out (but you know that, heh). So far it's been nothing earth-shattering, but who knows what'll happen with time? If he'd ever get off his ass and unveil "the thing I probably shouldn't be mentioning much less talking about", he'd probably be more motivated to do stuff. (Is that esoteric enough?)
But yeah, too bad about the models.

All of the Krypt text data is stored in a file in the art directory, so that's completely possible.

What sort of things have you done? And are you still interested? I can always use the help of someone with a modded Xbox. Do you know C/C++ or Assembly?
On that note... anyone with a steady knowledge (as in, MASTER of the language) of either of those should contact me... especially Assembly. Although it would help if said person had access to a modded Xbox and a legal copy of MK:DA (gotta keep it legal) to perform edits and view them on-the-fly.
Things have been busy for me, so I haven't had much time to work on modifying MK:DA or the website. I don't want to make promises I can't keep, so I really would prefer not to mention my plans.

I'm learning C/C++, and we're still going to learn Assembly together, aren't we?
We'll talk on IRC or something, bai.

can an admin assist me with resetting it?
I've sent an email, but RL takes priority over the net.)
wonder if he mentioned what he read here to anyone on the development team?
None-the-less, kudos to you guys and your efforts. It's definately interesting to see what you are discovering and learning.

LouisTypo Wrote: Ok, sorry if it sounds like I'm making empty promises. The MK:DA version I am going on is for PS2. |
Bleh, too bad, we (Me, Garret and Kryptondog) are all into the Xbox version (although I hate the exbox with a passion, I guess that's why I joined in. >:))
Anyway, if someone else could help, in terms of coding in C/C++/Assembly, that'd be awesome, just contect either of us.

i wish i had something cool to say

Screw You Guys, Im going home
cmp eax,32h
jne xxxx
push 3F99999Ah
call xxxx
fstp st(0)
add esp,4
jmp xxxx
push 3F800000h
call xxxx
Above is a little disassembly fragment with the addresses x'd out because it was taken from the final release build of MKDA.
If you can find this fragment in the .xbe file you can modify the speed that MKDA plays at. The push 3F99999Ah corresponds to 1.2 as a float and is the game's virtual clock speed in a PAL 50 hz mode (cmp eax,32h checks for PAL mode...)
The push 3F800000h corresponds to 1.0 as a float and is the clock speed in NTSC mode. Set it to 0.5 to play at half speed or 1.5 to play 50% faster. Some stuff whacks out if you go too fast or slow but it is a total trip to play the game at varying speeds.
Enjoy!
