PS2 = nearly 1,000,000 copies
Xbox = 450,000+ copies
Gamecube = 250,000+ copies

I must say that the GC seem to be lacking in terms of sale. Then again, it's good that it above the standard 100,000 copies!

As if the gamecube version being the worst seller wasnt obvious. People who buy Nintendo systems are hardcore fans who appreciate AAA titles like Zelda,Mario,Metroid,etc. No one picks up gamecube for fighting games, which is why MKDA sold worst on gamecube. PS2 gamers are about 45% fighting gamers EXCLUSIVELY. Also, since MK is a dark game of course PS2ers and Xboxers will buy the game more. Look at games like devil may cry and halo..violence games that are exclusives. This is why gamecube version sold worst.

sweet... I'm one of the rare people who own MKDA for the GameCube. More people bought MKDA on other systems probably because... theres more PS2's out there (since its been out longer), the better controls, and people seem to want the x-box version because it slightly, SLIGHTLY has better graphics.

also because the GC's control isn't really a fighting game control. But whats even more ironic is that more MKDA copies sold on the GBA then Gamecube (or so I heard a while back).

Just a bit of clarification... in North America (MK's biggest market), that's certainly the case. Worldwide, however, X-Box and GameCube are neck-and-neck, with GC coming out with a slight lead, I believe. (I'd have to do some research to get exact numbers.)

Just my $.02...

That doesn't necessarily mean that it is the best game. I know some greatest hits games that are crap, not that mkda is crap, well... . Anyways congrats to Midway and Ed Boon

Wow... I never heard that... pretty shokking if you ask me... and yes the Cube's small D-pad isn't really fighter-friendly... I experienced it with Blood Roar: Primal Fury... It's not impossible, it just plays sweeter with a big D-pad.

Aha... thnx 4 that, I just kinda asumed that X-box was slighly more popular then the Cube... I know that in Jap. the Cube's pretty big...

the game is less then a year old and has no comp. meanwhile there are fighters that are almost 5-10 years old that are being played more then MKDA, and thats not my opinion its a FACT.

I hope they keep it up for the upcoming future of their games. It's Been a long long time since i posted something here on mk5.org, hehe.. Just in case i might not post anything again in the future, Thanks to everyone, appreciating mortal kombat in any way, as being a fan in making their games a hit from the very first time mk came out in arcades to wherever mk's history might go to. It certainly has gone very far, thanks to mk5.org, midway,edboon,johntobias and every single crew and staff members for making their dreams come true and letting others enjoy it. Awesome Job Guys!

I half agree in your opinion. MKDA dosent need to have “competition” to become a popular or fun game. And in FACTS, MkDA is just a much more popular video game then the rest of the fighter ones. With a original and interesting story.

I think the reason it dosent have competition, is cause its difficult to master, while in other games U just press many buttons hoping to do something, MKDA is different, U have to learn the style moves, control them, and then attack.
