to MKFLEGEND ... yeah i can see your points about how someone claims there gonna own u and never played u... which i do agree is a little cocky/arogant etc.

but just the other day my cousin was playing MK2KungBroken online with the MKT for psone over the pc's and stuff and after it was all done mk2kungbroken started preaching his connection bs stuff , which i know is a lie, cause his ping was atleast 10better than ours, sure it might have effected him some... but the fact of the matter is out of that many matches (like 30+ ish) u could have still easily noticed my cousin was generally staying in it with him (like pretty close matches) and there is no way his lag was that bad from the way everything was playing out ... he just dont like it cause my cousin was staying in it with him in a good chunk of the matches.... sure mk2kungbroken still won like .... 25-27 matches and my cousin only won 3 matches.... but alot of the matches where pretty close and heres the funny thing.... a little while ago i was playing mk2kungbroken on umk3/mkt online and he said i was about 55-60percent (0= total noob... 100 = all out pro) and if u seen the matches my cousin was clearly doing much better than i was against him then after he preached his ping/lag bs and he was saying he thinks my cousin was about 50percent or "LOWER" .... which is BS since it was clearly obvious my cousin was doing much better against him than i was and he gave me 55-60percent.... the way the matches where going i would say my cousin would be 70+percent maybe 75.... that right there proves he was just pissed that my cousin was in it with him even though he only won 3 times vs mk2kungs 25+ times.

yes i can realize that online play is different than real arcade playing but still i have a pretty strong point if u ask me for the most part (atleast in terms of online play) ;) .... and also he "claimed" he was only playing @ 10percent of his potential which i think is more or less bs cause i mean if u think about it theres no way u can only being playing 10percent of your potential.... i mean if he said he was only at 70percent-ish of his potential i might have believed that.

NOT trying to start anything i just want him to ackknowledge that my cousin did better against him online than he was admitting.... cause the standard "connection crap" is what people always claim when there not doing as well as normall.... and like i say his connection was just as good as ours if not better for the most part. ... im sure the bulk of u guys would have agreed with me if u seen all the matches.

also my cousin was pretty much picking scorpion most of the time and once in a while he would use kabal but most (like high percentage) of the matches where played using scorpion which Mk2KungBroken addmitted to me that he's one of the worst or atleast lower half of the guys in the game so he cant claim that he (my cousin) beat him/stayed in it with him cause he was using top guys like kabal (since kabal is generally #1 according to MK2KungBroken) ;)

Well i feel that you have a very good point The Crip,i went through the same thing in Deception online,a lot of people new my gamertag and all,but they always wondered,is this guy a rank whore,a puller,good,bad or what,well lets just say they found out the hard competitive way.The only person that i feel has the right to judge us in anything is GOD,and only he can be absolutely flawless everytime.Now they know im a really good player,one of the best out there in MK:Deception.I have been following MK my whole life,i can easily say that the top 3 or 4 MK games of all time that im good in so far is UMK3/MKT,MK:DA,and MK;Deception....im not bad in MK2,or MK1,but those listed above are my best MK games Crip.

And i so want to face this MK2Kung guy in Deception or UMK3.But i don't think he plays Deception.The one thing that i personally think,now this is just my opinion,but if your a die hard MK fan like me,then im sorry but you have to play every MK game,not just the old ones or the new ones,every one period.I'm not saying that you should master every single MK game,but you should at least play it if you claim to be a "Mortal Kombat Fan" like myself,i mean i don't just play the games,i have all of the CDs,movies,taped every show of MK:Conquest,collecting all of the cartoons,i might get the figures of Deception coming out if they are collectables and not play toys,i also plan on buying the new comic series about to come out of Deception,now some of you may laugh,but you don't aget any more diehard than me,my gamertag is MKF which im sure i don't have to explain to you guys what that means.

I tend not to play the older MK games as much anymore. I think what you call a MK fan varies between players. I like MK very much and have been playing since the beginning but for me to go back and revisit games like MK 1 or MK 2 is something I can do without. One game I can't get enough of, after ten years, is MK3/UMK3. I'll still play the new games when they come out but they don't hold my attention as much as the MK 3 series.

I am pleasently suprised that Mortal Kombat outlasted the Street Fighter Series. Back in 1992 those were the games to play. I wish something like that would come along again because there was always good fighters to play. Always. Sure, there are good fighters out there now but its just not the same.

Yeah Sub_Zero i agree with your whole view and all,dude,without a doubt man.I thought honestly that SF and MK would still be facing off today,but at the same time MK has always been different than other fighters,unique,with the blood,fatalities and all.MK Forever baby!!!!!!!
It received a very sweet reward a month ago or so,best longevity,not an award many fighters or videogames in general get too often.It's awesome that MK still has it.MK is the best!!!!!!!

I would consider the game play quality from MKT last night to be unplayable in terms of lag, and frame skip, but I dealt with it and won 27 to 3 against your cousin. But also, keep this in mind, he only won 8 or so *rounds* total out of around 69 rounds, which is more important in saying whether or not the matches were close, cause shut out matches even if both rounds are close, are not close matches. He could have still won at least one round every match and still lost 27 to 3, and that would have been more impressive, I would have won 54 rounds and he could have won like 30 or so, and that would have been impressive. (Again that is 6 from his 3 wins and 2, maybe 3 other matches he won a round).

He was not playing me even close to my full ability, also, on top of that, the button set up I have for MKT is different than UMK3 for mame because I can't use my normal buttons and it makes run hard to use, and the keys lock up a lot, if anything, I was playing 10% of my full ability. I don't lie about this stuff, anyone who knows anything about netplay or keyboard layouts can back me up on that. Again just because my ping was 10 ms better than yours the millisecond I logged into the server doesn't mean my ping stays that low, if anything my ping probably gets up to 100 to 250 and stays there during the match, and also, Comcast has been having a LOT of problems lately.

There's a lot of factors when playing online, I try to get use to them, but I just can't because it's too random. One second I'll be able to do a huge 60% counter combo, the next time I miss the first attack and then take 50% back. It completely changes the flow of the match when netplay effects a critical point, and that happens against Nafa CONSTANTLY. Sure fire wins are turn into losses because of it.

In any event, I thought this thread was about N64 vs PSX MKT.

and even though my cousin did pretty much what u said in your post above... most of the "rounds" where close (health wise) ... even though u won a really high percentage of them like u said.... we aint braggin at all ... i just feel like overall your not giving my cousin enough credit is all... not saying we are great but like i said u said i was roughly 55-60percent on your scale and i feel overall my cousin is similar to me is all, so thats why i feel that your not giving him enough credit... but i guess everyone has there own opinions .... like i said above we both know your clearly better than us..... and if what u said is true with the keyboard etc etc... then i can see your point how u was seriously effected.... but it's cool we got it all sorted out.... and like u said we need to get back ontopic... but then again u can only say so much about both versions u know

well u dont need ANY money to play MKT online for the pc... or UMK3 for that matter either ;) ... u can download a Emulator called "ePSXe" for the pc (which emulates the psone console) and then use the MKT.iso file (or make the iso yourself from the MKT psone disk) ... then u can play online ;) ... then if u want to use your N64 controller for the PC ... cause im pretty sure there are adapters etc that u can get for this.

but anyways i dont have xbox live... but i do have a "moded xbox" (moded it myself, not to brag but i think im pretty good with that stuff in general when talking about Xecuter modchips and software setup, but we wont start talking about this) :) ... i dont like MK:DA much cause combo's are much harder to pull off on that game vs deception.... but as for deception only characters i really used much are JADE and KIRA ... jades 11-hit 41percenter is nice ;) ... but in generall i definately like the old MK games better..... mk1 and mk2 i like mainly playing the CPU but as for MK3/UMK3/MKT i like playing against people more overall.... deception just aint the same as the 2D MK (mk3/umk3/mkt) games if u ask me... slower paced (which for me is a bad thing) .... as for MK movies i would say Mortal kombat (the first one) was about a 6 out of 10.... and the second movie (mk: annilhation) i would say was much more cheezy and i give it about a 4 out of 10. .... but anyways... i would not say im a "die hard fan" but i was pretty obsessed with MK2/MK3 (some UMK3) back in the day when they where in the arcades..... we would use bicycles to go up town ( about 2-3miles one way, sometimes it would be just shy of 5 miles one way) with and with 25cents in our hands we would hope someone left 25cents in the arcade machine so we could play at times.... that was pretty deticated lol.... i could NEVER do that stuff anymore... it's just one of those things u can probably only do as a young teenager ... i was about 15ish years old back in 1995 and my cousin was about 12-13ish back in those days.

I can't stand when you always say that crap, cause it just happened one match, where I had jax, and you were human smoke, ok I has won the last round altough you had a better start. but for the others matches, you were rightfully owned. so it's so vain to say "each time I lose, it's cause of the netplay"....you know I have the same problems than you, I also have lost many matches cause of the netconditions but I don't always complain like you...the point is you can't stand to lose. and unfortunately for you, against me, it's about that(12/8 for me at Electronic dojo) so enough of your "I just lose only cause of the netplay" song, it begins to be boring.

So far the only guys that sound reasonable opinion wise are Maffa and The Crip,Crip you sound like a type a guy that would take a loss like a man,and take a win with class,you seem like you would win and loss gracefully.Not making excuses for your losses unlike some other people in MK or fighters in general.You can respect an opinion The Crip,thats a great value to have.Some people think that there opinions are facts and are always right,you don't the Crip,which is why i will always respect you.

Does anyone else think that thecrip and MKFLegend are one in the same lol. Not saying you are its just that it looks like it :)

to sub-zero187 ... i dont even know mkflegend ... just to clear that up ;) ... i only found him in these forums... i did not take any offense to that though. it's cool. to NMnafa .... yeah i can definately say u got a good point there.... so in that sence the matches with Mk2KungBroken may have not been close (or atleast as close) if he did not have the issues u explained.... but i guess in generall online can only be online and real arcade is real arcade.... it's obvious a real arcade would be a true test of ones skill but atleast the online play is generally good enough for the most part.... atleast against the 2 guys i played against (BustaUppa - MK2KungBroken) ... sure i can notice it aint perfect but it's atleast worth playing.... although u do have very good points... as even the slightest delays (lag etc) can mess up big combo's that require those HP (air juggle) starters etc.

Im sorry for not mentioning you Sub-zero,Sub-Zero,The crip,and maffa ,all of you guys seem to be the only ones open minded to other peoples opinions,unlike some other people.

yes but until now that's all we can have if we wish to play with people from all over the world. netplay has a lot of issues and disadvantages but it's better than nothing I guess...

I can 100% understand why people play on Kaillera. But, me personally, I'd rather not play then play that. It would be different if I didn't like other online games like UT2K4 and Starcraft I'm sure.
