Man, after i played the N64 version, i couldnt believe how much it sucked. I was a bit pissed that they had more cheats, but cheating in mortal kombat aint fun unless ure a p****. Now even though i own a new PS2, and the glitch where you cant complete the game's end is there, the PSX version is still better. The biggest misconception is that if the load time is good, then the game will be good. Even though the glitch is in there, playing MKT against your friend is better than the computer, cause then you have proof that you whooped their ass

100% Ermac combo????huh seems interesting,id like to see that,and yes i do like to nab opponents out of the air when im playing someone good.Its risky,but sometimes you have to take risks.In the time it would take me to attempt to pull that off on a great player,i could have already done two 45-50% combos,thus ending the match in a win.

OH yeah and MK@KUNG,i just got a PSX used for 19.99 retail price,im going to play MKT right away,i got that too,brand new the Greatest hits version,i believe.

I must see for myself just how much better it is than theN64 version.

Be sure to let us know as soon as possible, also, have you seen ANY of our UMK3 combo videos? They average 2 100% Ermac combos per video I think or more.

Just copy and past into the browser and the links will work (direct linking is not enable for my site) and perhaps after this you'll understand how simple it is to do big damage with Ermac. I know you're talking about simple HK, LP, JK, teleport punch, lift, HP, HP JK or fireball combos when you say 45%, but if you are going to do combos like that with Ermac, why use him? Smoke can get higher damage combos in the same situations, which is why Ermac is most effective damage wise when you bypass damage protection, otherwise, pointless to use him.

Graduated????Hardly,graduated a long time ago,ok my official report,game itself great game overall,Loading time sucks as i remember,gets tideous after a while,sound is a lot better than N64 but still not the arcade,Graphics are sweet on the PSX version.Since i just got it and can't play anyone yet,i played the arcade mode,think its kind of retarded how they put motaro in an Endurance match with baraka...personally but whatever,i like the older MK characters in it,the bosses are stupid in my view,way too slow and no combos what so ever.But overall my vertict is this,The PSX version has some better features over theN64 version,and theN64 version has some better features than the PSX version,honestly overall i like the both of them,but at the same time they are not exactly like the arcade...but damn close though.Oh yeah and one more thing,i can't satand the typical controller they gave me,it blows,i must get a newer one or a better controller for MKT in general,it takes some getting used to after playing the N64 version as well as the GC and XBOX verisions of Midway arcade tresures.
Well tomorrows my B-day so,my friends are going to take me to this hot place called game arena,with plasma screen tvs all over the place and they offered to play MK:Deception vs me for 3 hours,i can't wait,even though i'll win a lot it will still be fun because they dont do infinites and shit.I would love to play any of you guys in Deception but you don't like it because of your reasons.Are you guys sure your just not afraid to face a good player in Deception??????If your a die hard MK fan like me you will play it.Unless your the typical quote on quote fighter fan thats obsessed with every nook and kranny,just have fun with it!!!!!!!!!!!But if your a die hard fan of something ,you will love it no matter what!!!!!!!!!! I am a die hard fan with higher expectations and standards. I'd rather not play then play something that isn't good. And, as far as I can tell, given I only have access to play people over the internet, the best game I can be playing right now is UT2004 since I can't stand Kaillera. Vctf all the way.

Well the higher standards thing i'm sorry to hear about,but just remember this no game is perfect,not MK,not SF,not VF,not tekken,nothing!!!!! And to MK2Kung,Why do i pick Ermac you ask,if i don't necessarily do those combos???Well thats easy because i love Ermac,hes my favorite character to use,second i have had more than enough success with him,just playing the way i do.Just because you may have higher standards with a particular character does not mean that another player can't be good with that character,i can see if i didn't know jack about the character,but thats not the case at all.I know i have one of the best Ermacs out there,in UMK3,as well as in Deception. I won't criticize you just because you like to do big time combos with Ermac,thats a great thing,but with all due respect,you have never faced my Ermac nor do i give a lot of my opponents the opportunity to do combos like that,and if you picked Ermac,i may just pick his best counter to beat him,just like i do in Deception,and let me tell you man,i have had a lot of success in doing so,i may be newer to these forums,but i'm a very smart player when it comes to serious kombat. Can i play online MKT for the PSx somehow or not????I'm new to the PSX version,so any useful information concerning online play for the PSX version would be greatly appreciated.

How fast is your computer, what kind of internet connection do you have and in what area of the country are you located?

Yeah this could all be resolved quite easily with one night on Kaillera. I could tell you whether or not you've got serious skill, or you can beat noobs.

The whole point of picking Ermac over Human Smoke would be to do combos that do more damage and utilize his different special move in the most effective manner, otherwise by using it only in auto combos, you are limiting yourself. By limiting yourself you are not taking your ability to its full potential. Just answer Dreemer's questions, PM me and we'll set you up.

well once u get used to smooth gameplay from the original arcade games (on mame emulator for the pc with the mk arcade roms) ... the N64 version flat out sucks.... the framerate is horrible on it and even visuals on it are not that great.... i never played the psone version but im almost certain it will be better from a visual/frame rate perspective if it's anything like the sega saturn version of UMK3.

although i used to play the hell out of MK trilogy on the N64 back when it first came out ;)

but nowadays i got alot perfect arcade transelations so trilogy is just screwed overall. (MAME on the PC with the arcade ROM's :) )

also... i was reading what you guys where saying about virtua fighter etc etc... well... i cant stand all of those types of games like virtual fighter/tekken etc... cause it feels like your just "mashing buttons" and not actually playing the games... but it might be my lack of ability to learn how to play those games... mk games are much simpler to play... and the only fighting games i really like besides with the exception of killer instinct 1 arcade that i run on the xbox.

the classic 2d mk games are the best ;) (my personal favorite is MK3 cause of what i mention below, although UMK3 is probably my next choice)

p.s. you guy's video above are pretty impressive... you guys are really inventive on some of those combo's ... i never really knew u could do 100percent damnage combo's and i never knew u could pull off alot of that corner abuse neither ;) lol

but i have yet to find a more effective combo against the pc in MK3 (not UMK3)... then Kabal's "10-hit 68% damage" combo (CPU opponent runs towards you... roundhouse - tornado dash - groundsaw - LK,Lk,HP,HP,D+HP - drop kick - fireball) ... im not counting smokes repetitive spear lowpunches spear (repeat til there dead) BS wannabe combo ;) Kabal's combo is about the only consistent easy way to beat the CPU on master setting ... cause as long as u can get em to run at u a couple times here and there you practically guarenteed the win... they removed this from UMK3 :( lol ... this combo im sure as u guys already know wont work on a regular person but it's great to abuse against the CPU ;)

VF4 definately takes a lot of practice to get good with. There are so many moves you hae to lear for each character its insane. Unless you know the moves for a character you really do end up just mashing the buttons to get through.

MK3's was fun because it didn't block anything close. You mention the ground blade to combo which is blockable but the computer does not block it. Similarly, you can constantly get them on any level with close screams and nets because they just won't block it.

exactly ;) ... how do u get that online program working? ... im assumeing your using it with mame?

cause it would be nice to play you guys on there ;) if the pings are decent.

If you live on the east or west coast you will be able to get under 30 ms probably to at least one server which is great (granted you're on late at night) but you're not going to find much MK competition on the west coast so hopefully you're east or at least midwest, Florida, or Texas. PM me and I'll explain how to set it all up, it's not difficult really, you will have to get use to netplay in order to enjoy it at all cause 95% of the time during the day it's next to unplayable but after midnight EST, you can get in a lot of great games as long as both people have a decent ping. Sometimes when the other person has a high ping (around or over 100) it can lag both people.

Also, make sure you watch all 7 UMK3 videos, I have to do something about that page cause a lot of people think it's just one video saved at different qualities because I've encountered a lot of people who have said "Oh I thought you just made one."

Well for Dreem and MK2KUNG,my computer itsself is slow staring up,its not fast as far as signing in,however once im on the internet its faster,i have high speed internet DSL,its very fast where i am though!!!
I live right near a Verizon station,like 2 miles away from me or less,so its sweet,and as for the part of the USA,i live in NY,the east coast.

I hope that this is enough information for you two guys,and MK2KUNG,i see your point about Ermac,but that doesn't mean that i can't be successful with him,ok and unless you are an employer of MIDWAY and know that for a fact as a actual programmer of the game,then its just your opinion.We are all entitled to our opinions MK2KUNG.

There is an new Version of Project64 out, 1.6 wich runs MKT smooth finally!
It still looks like crap (pixelated) but its 100% playable.
They just need to add Kaillera to it.

I wish they had a psx version online somewhere.

There is also ePSXe which has been running good for a while and had Kaillera too.

Well i cant believe it i went to this videogame store just looking around and i asked if they had any old psx games and they said yes then i asked if they had mkt and they did!! it only cost 7 bucks im not sure what version it is it doesnt say greatest hits on it its just silver and says mkt.Iv had the n64 version for a couple years now and i must psx blows it away.First thing i noticed was the graphics and sound are way better and the streets level sounds different it sounds better like they remixed it or something.The loading time isnt to bad could be alot worst im playing it on my ps2 cause my psx is broken. It froze once already when i didnt continue but thats about it i have it on very easy and the computer is so fast im suprised this is going to be alot of fun.

All i can say is that its high speed internet DSL.The processor Dreem,i'll have to get back to you on that one ok man.Unfortunetely im not a 100% techno head plus i'm not the head of the computer in my household,i'll ask though and get back to you Dreem ok man.

And Psycho dude,i just got MKT for the PSX as well,however i got a used PSX,its in ok shape surprisingly,but MKT that i got is brand spanking new,i found mine in Best Buy of all places,in the oldschool classics greatest hits section,they had two copies left,i got the Greatest hits version,sweet game but the loading really blows,mine has not frozen yet,hopefully it won't.64 version is faster and up to par in that aspect.

Ok im the psycho one? sure kid i dont even believe you have the psx version you hate it with a passion.And n64 up to par ROFL it sure as hell isnt faster and the gameplay is way off have you listen to the sound of it is sounds almost bad as the 16 bit ones.And i remember you saying all the reviews where the same wrong at gamespot they gave the n64 a 5.8
and the psx version 8.6 fact.

Project 64k supports Kaillera. ^__^ When I'm on, rooms are full of N64 players.
