I have one of those, just for old times sake. the quality is quite poor, the graphics aren't that good and the cotroller is flimsy... but... I love playing it from time to time, because MK was really uncomplicated back then and it's easy to finish the game with all characters.

yes. it has some glitches due to its poor quality, if you touch the action buttons while loading it can get stuck so you have to turn off the power and start all over again.

furthermore, it's really basic, you only get to play the standard charcters, no Goro, no Shang Tsung...

Okay there could be something wrong. my plug 'n play is arcade perfect minus some unimportant details. Check into these things before you take my head off for buying it.
1. Check the batteries for leakage or change the batteries for great performance
2. having trouble hearing sound? Turn up the dadblame TV(I had to do that)
3. Not playing at all? Do not take the game apart, but check with a worker at the store where you bought the game in case it is defective or broken.

Okay now that that's out of the way this is good for:
1. people who don't have the money or room to get an original arcade machine
2. people who couldn't get MK:D collectors edition(AKA Me)
3. like the thought of having a controller tricked out with the MK dragon( ME)
4. who hasn't played MK before and would like to start by-the-book
5. who doesn't have the home system version(have Genesis version but its missing in action)

and finally, hate me for saying this, but i loved the genesis version's music

kool. I got that like the day it came out. I only need 2 more games to have all the MK fighting games. The controler actually comes with a book that has the bi,special moves,and Fatalitys of all the characters. Which is really kool because now i dont have to look em up. The controler isnt that big unless you got small hands. The D-pad is kinda loose though so watch out on the controls. My overall rating of it is a 4/5 for being a good game , the booklet, and beung a klassic

I've had this one for a few years now. It is, IMO, WAY better than the Sega and SNES version. It is not quite as good as the PC version, but the PC sound has bad sound and....good luck getting that to run on a new machine now.
