I agree, for me, Tekken, VF and other fighting games similar to these are just boring. There is nothing new or special. It all starts and ends the same way. The story isnt deep and powerful enough to make U love the game. I also agree with someone up there, when I play, I dont really care about the characters! I know nothing about them! Just choose whoever comes, but Nina is a cool chick.

Soul Calibur is great! But I still stay firm that compared to MKDA fighting system, is not deep enough. I mean, just weapon fighting gets boring after a while. There is not much to do.

lol..........MKDA is deep when it comes to strats and tactics but no where else. lol, 3 stances add nothing when 95% of the characters r most effective when playing in just 1. like i said MKDA has a lot of tactics to it and mind games which r very deep but saying 3 stances and/or the "story" is 1 of the things that adds depth in MKDA is just plain ignorant.

i just want to point out that right now evo2K3 is going on and there r hundreds of T4 players there right now but if u will notice that MKDA is NOT part of the tournament. in fact, this tourney has SEVERAL of the top fighters there but no MKDA. and look at the tekken forums, they're VERY MUCH alive with hundreds of thousands of people on a daily basis and then look at this place..................dead. so when it comes to what game is played more its obvious that more people chose tekken 4 over MKDA. i am a hardcore MK player and its defending champ as i have been through most of the 90's and when MKDA came out i quit T4 and played it but after months of no more tourneys and a dead message board i went back to playing T4. these r the facts and NOTHING can change the fact that T4 is played 9999999999999999 times more then MKDA.

That's because Evo is run by Shoryuken.com who as a whole are very much anti-Mortal Kombat with their community being comprised mostly of Capcom and SNK fanboys. It doesn't surprise me at all that MK: DA isn't part of thir line up. I am somewhat surprised however, even when we ARE talking about shoryuken.com, that Super Street Fighter II is included. Sure, let's not play a relatively new 3D fighter, let's play a 10 year old 2D fighter! Brilliant!

nono, i'm not dissing it. i say that i would still play it over T4 if it had comp. but someone put up thia thread on MKDA vs tekken4 and people keep saying y MKDA is better then tekken and while it might be better it doesnt matter cuz there is no one to play. T4 along with other games r played WAY more then MKDA cuz they have a community of playes that actually want to compete and r willing to leave their home to do so. then u have the MK community who only plays for "fun" amd doesnt care about tourneys or traveling for comp etc and then they wonder y other games r played 100x's more then MKDA. not trying to be cold, just letting people here know y MKDA is not a mainstream fighter anymore.

I gaved every game I saw a chance. I played Tekken, Dead Or Alive, Virtua Fighter, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.

The two best (gameplay) are Mortal Kombat and D.O.A.

But what MK has, wat no other Beat 'em Up ever had, is a very cool story. By the way, the story of D.O.A. doesn't make any sense.

But not only the Story. THat what I miss in all that Beat 'em Ups with that chinese fighting styles is the shaolin-style.

MK has the best story, MK has the best style and MK has the best gameplay.

Well Thomas to be fair, not being in the arcade might have something to do with that. Kind of like DOA3. DOA2 had some decent comp because it was arcade like the rest of the fighters. Now that it's home console only, it's just not there. That and I don't think many people are willing to buy a $400 plane ticket just to go somewhere to play all the time.

Playin' a fighter just isn't about "the game" perse'. When I jump on the bus to go play Tekken i sit back, draw some peeps, pull up a chair to the cabinet and chll with my cronies while listening to trance over the arcade speaker system. We play for hours on end. Joking with the techs and complaining about the shitty sticks; doing a set-up that only a noob would fall for, and then letting the person know it when they fall for it. Then we leave, go to the movies or go out to eat, discuss who owned who. Who's got a nice new set-up, who's nina is haya whore, etc. Then when you go to bed you realize that you're getting better by playing real human comp. Because today you wave dashed into iWS moves like butter.

I personally think DA is crap, not rank crap, but crap none the less. That's my opinion and I am entiteled to it. Neo has clearly expressed his view and it also accurately expresses the view of many others. I have epxressed my view, along with that of others. With depth, play mechanics, etc aside, that's what putes T4 over for "ME" in the MK:DA vs. Tekken 4 debate. Some have stated that DA wins becuase of story and - cough - gameplay - cough - . The truth is though and I agree completely is Tekken is PS2 only and Arcade. MKDA is scattered across f'n everywhere so it's hard to set up real competition because it'll be "but I play yadda yadda version" (whether that's the truth or cop out). If a new MKDA tourney comes out or for MK6, use the Xbox for the tourney. I'll bring the freakin' Playstation controller converters. That way no one has an excuse except for the Gamecube owners. But only like 2 of them bought MKDA anyway so who cares?

see I liked mkda alot but i like tekken a bit better if the 2 combined it would be the best fighting game ever the next mk game needs more fatalities and more charecters every mk char would be great then tekken would be wiped the floor by mk

2 million plus people beg to differ on mkda being a crap game.and not to mention mkda being fighting game of the year. mk6 is only going to get better and bring some features that were left out in mkda and put them in mk6.and any one thinks mkda suck obviously needs to practice. its not the games fault if the people suck at it. if you think the mkda sucks fine thats your opinion and entitled to it.

Both of these games were a huge dissapointment to me, but I would choose mkda because of the storyline.I like both of their gameplays and characters. BUt tekken 4 only had technically 2 new char. Christie was just a rip-off of Eddy,Violet was lee, and combot is just another mokujin. But if it was mkda vs. Tekken Tag, I would choose tekken in a heartbeat.

VF players,tekken players,etc all think MKDA revolves around mix ups. Ask anyone who hates MKDA, and they'll either tell you its because of that or because of guaranteed combo strings. Little do these people know that MKDA is a lot deeper than T4.

To make a long post short, T4 is not as good game wise, but its community is more than 10 times bigger and doesnt have NEARLY as much scrubs and ignorant players as this community has. They understand that tiers exist and that some players are better than others. this is something most of us MK players still cannot grasp to this day.

T4 a better GAME? no, but its more compelling than DA because of the players and since it has a tournament scense,

Please, enlighten us. Well, at least me, on what exactly it is that makes DA deeper than T4. Becuase, quite frankly, I don't see it. And neither do 95% of the communities you just mentioned. Peeps always "claim" DA is deep, but don't give insight on this, honestly, bold statement.

As with any fighter, it stands to reason that people like game A over game B, while others prefer C, etc. Comparisons are fantastic, especially when thrown down on people who actually listen and take into acount the information being thrown down. But comparisons are loosly based off of oppinions, no? I couldn't give a shit if a person says "DA roxorz your buttor, Tekken suxorz monkey azz!!", or any other game for that matter. Well, obviously I might mind a little becuase I'm taking time to write this post; but that is becuase I don't see the logic, the reasoning behind "why" it roxorz buttor. Mid tier character. I guess Kageh is a scrub for thinking for himself. All depends on the user playing the character. Nobody here disagrees about tier lists about which characters are more powerful than others. But they don't decide who wins.
Just for the record, the community on the SC forums isn't much different than here. More people giving strategy but that's simply because SC is a deeper game. But as far as character standings, everyone told Kageh he can't win with IVY. The same crap happens here where people take tier lists as some characters can't beat others. It's a load of crap. The problem here is the people that are saying so and so can't beat so and so try to type how the match will go. As if they get a memo of how exactly their opponent plays 2 weeks prior to the match and how exactly the match will happen. Now THAT's being ignorant. Do I disagree certain characters have problems against others? No. Can they still win depending on the skill level of the person using the character? Yup. Nationals prove it.

players like fetz, mick,etc r very good friends of mine and r top players and i know this from what they tell me about sc2. heres how sc2 is.........almost any character can beat any character but ONLY in sc2!!!!!!!!!!!! SC2 is probably the most balenced fighter ever made. in SC2, with the exception of yunsung, almost any character can beat any character but all games r not like that, not tekken and not MK. i still stand behind the fact that in MKDA scorpion is unbeatable. btw, theres an IRC interview with me up at www.blood-sports.net
