I'm an idiot becuase I like VF, T or any other world-recognized competitive fighter, over DA? Well, that's cool. I mean, people have fought and died in wars so that peeps can have their own oppinions. It's nice to see people exercising this privilage.
Here's my oppinion; hope it's some what educated. Aside from grammar, heh.
DA is a fighting game for people who don't like real fighting games. It's a good "game", but not a good "fighting game". I bought Toshinden for $2 last week and that old ass classic has more depth than DA. You can crouch dash, cancel, buffer, no canned combos, standard zoning principles, BT options, etc. Hell, you can even fox-step. Toshinden is almost 10 years old...that's really sad on DA's part, really sad.
I find it odd how people thisthingisdisableduate a fighting games quality on its story. It's obvious with americas high rate of ADD that people have lost the ability to logically thisthingisdisableduate termonology. "Fighting game." Wait, it just hit me; it must be a game which emphasizes interactive, physical combat between two or more characters. Oh, but wait, that new thriller by Dan Brown just came out. I'd like a good story, I think I'll pick that up on the way home from work today.
Yah, MK does have a good story. I mean, humans fighting for the fate of earth and all. Gods and deities battling amongst each other for power and the "common man". Sounds kinda like some old greek/babylonian mythos. A little Gilgamesh if, you will, mixed in with some what nots from here and there.
Sure beats the hell out of Tekkens traditional Japanese story telling. A tragedy of the cursed hero. Torn between parents of light and dark. Continually battling with his demons, trying not to hurt the ones he loves. It's just to intimate, isnt' it. No one wants intamacey.
BTW: Most fighting fans belong to multiple boards. It's a bi-product of, well, being a fighting fan. However, some people go to Harry Potter and LOTR fan sites. They like stories.
In my oppinion, of course. Myyyy oppinion.
