Its all bullshit, and "i" hopefully(we) must live with this.I dont say it sucks, but i cant call it mortal kombat anymore.Feel free to flame me,i kno ur gonna 2.Goodnight all =)

The only thing that I didn't like about the old games was that everyone had the same moves.
Now I like MKDA better than the old games because they are all unique.
Both were good 2D, and 3D, but I think 3D is much better.
The more realistic the fights get the more I like it.
If they went back to the old style, I wouldn't like it, because I have already tasted something better.
Actually I completely stopped playing MK and street fighter once I discovered Tekken3.
It became a rare occurrence for me to play my 2D games.
I think that most people would like MK to continue evolving the way it is.
I had been waiting for a long time for the MK games to be like the complex 3D fighters like Tekken etc.
When I found out that MKDA was going to be the way it is, I was extremely pleased.
You could compare my joy to a little kid on Christmas morning.

i like mk:da, not just of the graphics, which by the way is extremely terrific, but i also like how the moves are not the same from previous (i.e. scorpion's spear is back, forward, square or something like that, no longer back, back, x) and the new characters are great (except for kenshi, bo' rai cho, mavado, etc) and the way the classic characters look so much better then before (i.e. sonya with her thong, jax with his bandeliere and machine gun, sub-zero and the icy'ness of the arms, etc) i think that mk:da has got to be, the best mortal kombat game to be made in the history of time
MKDA and old school mk games shoudnt be compared imo.
Simply cos the two games are in a league of their own.
Its like comparing the SF series to Something like tekken. Both are good series in there own way. But comparing 2D to 3D games is silly.
MK1 was my favourite mk in 2D, but as time goes, so does technology.
MKDA is brilliant, and i love the way midway, reinvented the entire mk engine to do so. lets hope they keep up the good work for the next mk

Nindz pretty much summed up what I was going to say, MK games were the best 2d fighters ever but they arn't anywhere near as good as DA and no other fighting game on the market atm is as good.

yeah i agree with all that, but what dissapointed me about this game are the new character looks.
here are the characters i believe have been screwed up big time:
reptile
sub-zero (except for his alternate costume)
quan chi
cyrax (more with his new "soul" thing than his look. just wanted to point that out)
etc.
and some new characters look sorta wierd too, but im too lazy to name all the characters i believe are screwed up. l8er all.

The KI games were good at the arcade, but I didn't like the home versions, they were toned down way too much.
I wish they would remake KI2 arcade perfect.
Or maybe have a guest KI fighter in MK6.
That game was pretty awesome.

I know exactly how you feel, MKDA is not Mortal Kombat, its an entirely different game with MK characters slapped in it.

In all honesty, the gameplay of the earlier MKs was very shallow. The main appeal was in the fatalities, and in the hidden secrets and the rumors surrounding the game. However, it lacked authentic martial arts action. The aim of MKDA was to change all that. The new fighting system makes the game much deeper. If you don't like it, what can I say? Dust off your SNES or Genisis and play MK2. For those of us who want a game with some depth and lots of replay value, let the game evolve. For me, MK has always been more about the story and characters than the simple gameplay.
