Well here is why I liked the old games better.

-Characters were alot more original and better overall imo. In MK4 and MK:DA they had rip-offs and many just were stupid, more then the old games I think. Now the old ones may have had more ninja's then needed but they were all original in moves and that's what counts.

-2-D looks more realistic character wise since they were digitized characters.

-The fatality's in MK:DA were ok. Some were kool but other's were lame and considering only 1 person had only 1 fatality made it all the worse.

-The 3 fighting stances were a nice plus but I could live without them since some of the stances were not that good. So in this case it's a draw for me.

See MK was the only game to have real looking humans unlike all other 2-D fighters which made it all that more gruesome and realistic when it came to fighting and then killing them which made it special.

MK:DA is good, hell it's even great.....just I prefer to pick up and play any classic(2-D) MK game instead of MK:DA. While MK:DA greatly improved over MK4 in the 3-D department it still is just another normal looking 3-D fighter.

Also MK:DA was loose for a 3-D fighter which hurt it for me also. Fighting games need to be tight and it was too loose and not enough control over the characters. There were no real good air juggle combos because of it being in 3-D also which I didn't like.

Both are great but the classic look and feel get's my vote for being great and alot more fresh when it came out unlike DA.

Now this is just my opinion so I ask no one to come and pick everything apartment and comment on it cause I will not be replying back and forth since this is my opinion and that's that.

So for the most part it seems that the way it was made is the problem, how it plays and lack of originality in character design, not the fact that it's 3D.

You made a lot of good points there.

I can't say I agree with all of them, but for the most part yeah.

To tell you the truth, I don't think MKD is going to be much better than MKDA as far as Game play tightness, and character design goes.

It's just a feeling I have.

I hope I'm wrong, but somehow I doubt it.
MK games tend to be very simple and it shows in the 3D games. I'm expecting MKD to be mostly eye candy.

Yea, 3-D was never the problem. Just it lost the more realistic style imo.

I will still get MK:D no matter what since the better original characters are returning and people have 2 fatality's again with stage kills.

I'm hoping Boon wasn't fibbing when saying that the game was going to play tighter and that you would have better control over the character's when moving around in the boards.

I though believe it will atleast be more then eye candy since Konquest mode looks to be big and have lots of great stuff in it. Now for the more tighter and smoother gameplay..........well let's hope it's fine tuned and made better.
