OK, the following characters were meant for only one game and they were quite cool if you consider them as storyline adds:

Hsu Hao: at least a mongolian. Mongolians have a rich tradition of martial arts, and for a servant of Mavado, he did his time well enough. His reason was to be killed by Jax (also deepening Jax's storyline)

Mavado: disagree, with a little help, the Red Dragon clan could have been an interesting twist in the storyline. Only his moves were not so good. But the grapling ropes idea wasn't that bad. He just lacked other moves. (he reminds me of a batman-neo misture)

Nitara: too she could have been an interesting story-based character. her look, no designs were awesome, and she had it all to look as a vampire in the Mortal Kombat universe (original vampires in Hinmalayan folklore had permanent wings. They were called Rodjungs, and MK is an oriental ga-me at least for MK1, MK2, MKDA and MKD)

Sheeva weren't as bad at all. But she was horrible compared to others.

Stryker (well, if he is a one time character with an addition fighter-like concept, than he was right. I just don't like the use of firearms. Oh, and Sonya was meant to be a character named Stryker. ONly they changed the Kano chaser idea to a female army man/woman)

Others like Kai, Rain, Jarek, Reiko, Fujin, Ch/Kameleon are just plain stupid.

since when is Reptile an alien!? if you mean he's an alien because he's from another realm, I guess that puts about 3/4 of the characters in your hate list. and anybody who hates Hsu Hao because he's Mavado's little b*tch better cork it! isn't the whole 'betrayal' storyline getting a little old? Quan Chi betrays Scorpion, Shang Tsung betrays Shao Kahn, Frost betrays Sub-Zero, Quan Chi betrays Shinnok, it's about time somebody did their freakin job in the mk universe!!

almost all the character mentioned in this thread are those damn waste of space, complicated chinese name havin, boring story line, no staying power, bull crap garbage characters
The only good characters that show staying power and actual individuality are the characters from MK1, 2 and 3 (except Stryker)

Kenshi, movado, shunjinkinikanokanao, ching chong mong chi li, wong tong ching tong su, or wutever, all these damn characters are crap!
STOP ADDING THESE DAMN CHARACTERS!!! NOBODY USES EM! NOBODY LIKES EM! AND THEY NEVER SHOW UP IN OTHER GAMES!

The king of lame are Mokap and Stryker. Both looked alike, didn't have an influence in any of ther other characters, had cappry moves and besides that Stryker used a gun. Stupid gun weilders...you shouldn't be in MK you dumbasses...unless you are a robot...

Well, I personally like MKDA characters the most, and for me MK4 was the deep point where Reikos and Kais kept me spooking for night.

I personally like new characters, AND THE GAME WOULD GET PROBABLY PRETTY OLD IF IT'S SEQUELS WERE JUST THE REHEARSALS OF OLD CHARACTERS. Nobody would like those games anyway, becouse they don't have versability. And Boon definitely not wants to make a game for a special clique, just becouse the first game rocked. He needs to make money as every working man, and he needs refreshment to keep the game alive. If you can't understand this, I feel sorry for you.

There have been decent tries in the past
for example Frost was almost a success, and (that blind guy, i forgot his name) is a decent character, but most are just ass

look at it this way, about 95% of the characters from the original games (MK, MK2, MK3, UMK3 and Trilogy) have survived
about....25% of the characters created since then (Mythologies, MK4, MKG, DA, and D)
have survived

I believe that the character that I show no interest into is Rain. Rain had only showed up in Mortal Kombat Trilogy and we have not played as him or seen him since.

I did not pick Rain because before him were Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Ermac. If I thought that was too much, they added in a purple ninja named Rain. I felt like Mortal Kombat was turning into the power rangers at that time.
