I thought he was a poorly designed character. The chest thing was cool but that dumb hat...and ahhh I just couldn't stand to look at him. He could have been the best character in the game and I wouldn't have tried to use him just cause of how stupid looking he was.

Hsu Hao is an excellent character. I always choose his alternate outfit, it's pretty kool but I don't like his default costume too much. He's a very strong character, I don't think he should be considered as a filler character. IMO he was unique. Especially when fighting against Jax, I love using Hsu Hao. His wrestling style is badass. Fatality is badass. He should have been the leader of the Red Dragon instead of Mavado.

I like Hsu Hao, but I asumme that he dies...... Hsu Hao R.I.P.

Cause he looked like a friggin gay man stripper, his story was lame, he was a modern palatte swap: (a filler), bad fighting moves, bad fatality, etc.

He was most definitely NOT a filler. Fillers are generic character for whom little attempt was made to give them any unique qualities, simply to increase the number of characters you can say the game has. Li Mei was a filler, as were most of the ninjas after Scorp and Subby. For example, Smoke and Jade were both Fillers in MK2. They've both been fleshed out since then, but that doesn't change their origins as fillers.

However, the simple fact that he's not a filler does not mean he doesn't suck. Indeed, he does. he sucks huge green donkey.... well you know what he sucks. He was just a bad character overall. A failed attempt by the MK:DA creative team. He had a stupid appearance, stupid moves, and a lukewarm storyline. It's best if Midway just lets us all forget about him.

Did someone write that only quan chi returned from MK4? Umm thats not true, sub, scorp, sonya, jax, rayden, reptile, cyrax, kitana, kung lao and i think thats it were also characters that return.

Anyway i never really thought about it until now, but i don't think i like hsu hao either. I generally just don't like the big bulky wrestling types like zangief and hulk and such. But yeah he is kinda uninteresting he just does whatever mavado tells him. I kinda hope he does get killed but just because i don't like a particular characters isn't any reason he should just be killed off. But i think the only reason i don't like him is because i just don't like big burly wrestling characters. But i don't think thats reason enough to HATE him. He did have some good moves and his fatality ranked as one of the tope five.

Quan Chi was the only NEW character to return, dicky. Think before ya speak.

I think it is because
1:He is uninteresting, just doing whatever Mavado tells him.
2: He really looks g*y, mostly because of the hat i believe.
3: He is a big general wrestling guy,totally boring.

I HATE HIM!! I hate playing with him, I hate playing against him. I just hate him. The worst time I had playing MK:DA was doing his Konquest. Thats the only time I've picked him.

I dislike him because first he was ment to Shao Kahn, then Midway tought of Dealy Alliance, so Shao had to go. Then Kublai Kahn came. He looked more better. A bit of Japanese feeling in to it, now... I shall just say i don't want any skulls above my message.

Hsu Hao is my favorite MKDA char.When i saw him the first time,he's looked fun for me.I've played with him and he's fun to use.The only problem is the fact than his clothes are too dark.That supposed to be dark green,not black and it sadly why he's looks g*y :(

He was never intended to be Shao Kahn from the start.
A new employee supposedly screwed up and named him "Kahn" without realising there was past character with the same name. Or so the story goes.

I liked him. Sure he may have looked dumb but I loved his styles weapons and special moves.

I hate every new fighter from mk4 and da none of them turn out to be anything they all look to generic and look like comic book characters.And Hsu hao is just awful damn awful.

Well actually if you guys think about it Hsu Hao might have a 2nd chance in MK:D because No character has Shuai Chiao, Wrestling, and the Sun-Moon so there is like a 60% chance he might be back, plus he doesn't die he's in the prison stage too

when you pick him especially in his alt costume name him the rapist. and when ever you win a match say "you just got raped, or you just got molested, or i gave you a Micheal Jackson. and also say it whenever you give someone the backbreaker! trust me if you do this he will be the worst character to lose to!!!!

I liked Hsu Hao. I thought he was a pretty good character. His alternate costume was one of my favorites from DA, he had one of the best DA fatalities, he wasn't a bad fighter, and he had some potential as a character. If Jax's ending wasn't canon and he returned to find Mavado dead from Kabal, he wouldn't know what to do. He would probably try to get revenge on Kabal, maybe taking the lead of a cluster of Red Dragon members to lead against Kabal's group of Black Dragon members. Then Kabal and Hsu Hao could have a one-on-one match.

Unfortunately, Midway decided not to expand upon Hsu Hao. And it's a pity; he could have become one of the franchise's best characters.

I'm torn on this guy. Yes, Hsu Hao was a very generic character, just created as an expendable henchman, an obvious one hit wonder like Jarek before him. And yes, his design was just a boring musclebound goon in a Village People hat. But I think he's a pretty strong character to use, and his fatality was one of the best.
