Honestly....they should stop being a bunch of vaginas and let their characters take part in the world of Mortal Kombat the way it was MEANT to be.

All out blood, gore, and dismemberment. It would be a one time thing and something DIFFERENT for them.

They're in a different world and are opposed by super natural forces and beings that want to kill them.....so they now need to fight BACK and kill THEIR enemies to survive.

So fucking what if Batman or Superman got their heads ripped off? DC are a bunch of sisses if you ask me.

Always wanting to cater to their younger audiences hearts and wims.

It's kind of ironic that the people that are complaining about the blood and gore aren't old enough to buy an M rated MK game.

I can't believe people are so upset about this. There's still blood, there are still fatalities. It's just rated T and the blood itsn't covering half the screen

I'm 21 going on 22 this August so lets get that out of the way.

I know there is blood....but thats not my issue. This is FIRST.....a Mortal Kombat game....not a DC game. Yet DC is the reason for the Teen rating.

Their influence shouldn't be as heavy as it is. They agreed to put their characters in MORTAL KOMBAT's world....they should follow the formula to the fullest extent.

Because of their pansyness....characters like Superman have rehash fatalites from MK 3 that they now call "Brutalities". And basically...all finishers will leave characters fully intact. Remember...no dismemberments of any kind. All because of DC's infulence. Straight up...fuck them.

I always wondered what the obsession was over their characters not being harmed much.

I mean in JL Cartoons we see em tear the hell out of each other, but in this game they can endure a few scrapes and cuts and some torn pieces of flair.

Kinda odd, but what can ya do...

I'm not bothered by it much. Game still looks fun.

my issue is that i probably won't be able to rip supermans head off. but i think the dev team is more to blame than DC. they have a right to say how their characters will be treated, the MK Team knew that coming and were willing to abide by that so. eh.

DC has a standard to live up to. They have no problem with violence, but they'd rather their characters take part in things that can be looked at and taken at least a little seriously. Up until this game playing MK has been like watching a cartoon. Punching a character and watching them lose a gallon of blood isn't "Serious" or "Mature" it's over the top, silly, and childish.

Don't get me wrong, I'm entertained by it as much as the next guy. But I find people who act like a company is trying to cater to kids by toning down the ridiculously overly violent nature absolutely ridiculous.

DC characters have been in a lot more dangerous situations than a couple of low-level threats that most of the MK characters represent without compromising their morals.

Nope, they just have an image that needs to be respected and maintained.

Sorry to say that you're not too pleased that this game won't be gory enough, but we've already heard so many people rant off about this problem. So it's less gory, big deal, it's not like Mortal Kombat will stay that way for the rest of its series.

So don't buy the game if you're that ticked off, that's the only advice I can give you. Becuase if you're just going to keep making threads about how you can't stand that Mortal Kombat is going down a level with its ways, then why bother getting the game?

How would you MK Fanboys feel if another company wanted to take MK and do what they wanted with it? You'd be bitching if they turned MK characters into a softcore pansy peacemakers.

Midway is respecting DC's wishes, get a fucking clue. If you hate it so much, don't pick the damn DC fighters.

since the beginning the whole MK vs DCU idea was horribly wrong, and there are tons of reasons, list them all it's useness, repetitive and boring, but sometimes is necessary.
1)BAD TIMING: everyone, also Midway, knows how the Mk fanbas was dissapointed after MK armageddon...the whole KAF system sucked,90% of the characters were recycled from the previous game, the graphic engine was the same since 2002,the stupid kata endings, etc.
MK would have be the BEST MK game possible with newer characters, with a totally new artistic direction, with REALLy serious, dark and gritty atmosphere, with blood and Gore(in MK vs DCU we have only Blood, the Gore is missing).
I think that the MK fanbase needed some kind of(don't know the right word)
"outrageous"?"super violent"?"scandalous"? like GTA4 or Carmageddon...something that almost gets banned, something that also newspapers, media and TV talks about violence, like MK managed in 1992.

Look at Manhunt2 and all the criticism it had...i didn't like Manhunt 2 game, but i liked the dirty side of the game, the scandal that was generated, all the protest from parental organizations.

2)AN ADULT AIMED GAME: ok no sex and no drugs...but what about less childish appearance of the game, with mature characterswith obscure past?

3)TOTALLY REVAMPED: we want a totally new game, with a LONG development time(not just 2 years, but something like 4-5 years) where EVERY single characters have a different move set, with different unches, kicks, etcWith motion capture artists for VERY DIFFERENT characters, like DoA,VF and tekken franchises already did since mid 90's.

4)READING THE FORUMS:Ed Boon promised more than once that he'd read the forums to understand better what direction the MK franchise would follow to please the fans.Atually except for few ones, almost NOBODY wants a MK crossover game, and also the few ones surely didn't want a crossover with another dying company like DC,with a bunch of known characters but uncompatible with the MK ones.
The whole superhero idea really sucks...i really admire Marvel comics.
Marvel nemesis:rise of imperfects let some wel known heroes like Spider Man and Wolverine die some violent and brutal death, such like explosions, corrosion by acids, etc.
I know that Rise of Imperfect wasn't a violent gae8also rated T) but Marvel would never do a crossover with a M franchise like MK.
Dc instead have the role of the pain in the ass ruining his own heroes and also the MK warriors. It's not a secret that the better solutions was a different fighting game for both franchises..instead they chose to merge both of them in a stupid test.i Guarantee 1% circa of the total fanbase is REALLY happy about the game( the Midway forum is full of ppl that feigns to be happy about the game, and will buy it nly to support Midway)
5)T RATING: two or three blood drops aren't enough to considering MK vs DCu a "violent" game.We want to see some intestine, hearts, lungs, guts, livers, mutilated arms and legs, head explosion, brains ripped off, dismembered body parts, etc.
IN mk vs DCU we're going to have some deadly moves, but are far away from the gore levels reached by previous mk games.
6)BUYRATES: are we so sure that the DC fans will buy the game? For what i know a lot of MK fanboys won't buy this shit.
so if DC fans wont' buy the game and the MK fans won't buy it as well...who will buy this game?
7)NINTENDO WII IDEA: actually this game would fit perfectly to Nintendo Wii as exclusive game, instead the xbox 360 and ps3 should had the REAL MK8.Midway ruined everything dissapointening both Nintendo and MS/Sony fans.

I'm not really worried about ripping off arms, legs, spines, heads and such. I'm also very very happy that they toned down the amount of blood loss. If someone punches you in the face, of course you're going bleed, that's natural ... however, you're not going to go spilling a bucket of blood all over the place. I would actually prefer if there was no blood popping out at all.

I personally feel the only time blood should be spilled in that way is when you've performed a very powerful attack on your opponent, otherwise there should just be visible bloody noses, lips, cuts, and normal wear & tear that would naturally happen if you were physically fighting someone in hand to hand combat.

yeah the ball blood thing from the last game was stupid.

and i think the T rating will make the dev team be a little more creative with the fatalities and brutalities since they can't just make everything explode like they did before.

Personally, I like the down-sized amount of blood, I was getting bored of watching inhuman amounts of blood falling out of me after being uppercutted, or having a bucket full from just a light jab

I agree. The ripped clothes, bruises, black eyes, cuts, oozing blood, etc. in this game is BY FAR more realistic and brutal than punching someone and 8 gallons of blood fall to the ground. I love this new direction.

Yeah, that is true.

There is still a part of me that's saying, "DC characters? WTF?!" Despite that, I've grown to appreciate MK vs DC. The game is much better than the last couple of games. The graphics are better, the fighting engine is better, the gameplay is much better, what's to complain about?

Honestly, any other crossover, wether it's Mortal Kombat vs Tekken or Mortal Kombat vs Soul Calibur, would have been rated T as well, and you know what? I would not have complained. That is why I'm not complaining about it now. It's still a MK game, people! There's still blood, and brutal blows and whatnot. We have something, and it's great!

You either take it or leave it, and stop complaining!

They don't want something realistic. This game is going to over the top, epic, and all the other things MK fans enjoy. No wonder the gaming community as a whole looks down on MK fans. Threads like this makes it seem like people are upset because there won't be pints of blood being lost at a time. The game still looks pretty brutal, and it looks deeper than the last three MK games.

This game will be a great way to expand MK and take it to the next level.

I totally agree.

Of course MK is famous for it's blood and gore, but that's not all it has to offer and that's not all that matters either. If that was all that matters, MK would not have made it this far, because there are plenty of games with much more blood and gore than MK (and the blood looks better too).

If someone was to create a "What got you hooked on MK?" thread, I don't think that most of the people will put "tons of blood", or anything similar, as their reason.

I agree. This is a one time thing and it is an MK game first and foremost. DC should allow their characters partake in the gore and severe violence. It's only fair to follow the standards of the series.
