Yeah but he also had his own shit. He didn't have to turn into people to have abilities. Captain Marvel basically is just a hyped up Superman. Shang Tsung has plenty of abilities unique to his character.

Actually at one point he did became and took the mantle of Shazam. Depends on Crisis-continuity, but know for sure he was or is in some continuity Shazam -taking the place of the old man.

DC Comics has an equal share of love and hate, as do all things. So what is Wonder Woman is similar to Superman? It really doesn't matter. What matters the most is that she represents DC Comics as the ultimate female superhero, which means she should be in the game. Whether or not she has cool powers is a story for another day.

...um, unless I missed some recent development or retcon, I don't think Captain Marvel is highly regarded for actual fighting skills. And even if he has recently gotten training or something....I'm fairly certain he's still not as good as Wonder Woman.

Now, I have nothing against Captain Marvel, but I would advise against defending him by suggesting he's pretty much several characters combined. That doesn't really make him more appealing.

The second "A" in Shazam is for Achilles who was a pretty good warrior.

If I remember correctly, all he got from Achilles was courage, not actual fighting skills.

Captain Marvel's powers are drawn from figures of various Greco Roman and Biblical Myths. Black Adam's come from Egyptian dieties if I remember, though with mostly the same effect.

And the speed of Mercury.

Yeah I didn't think Achilles was a god. He was dipped in the river Styx but I don't think that counts.

Hercules is half god..Atlas is a Titan, not a god. strength could have come from either of those two.
