Yes, these would be nice if they were implemented into the game to give it a different fell and more strategically innovating(sorry for the big words).

The cartwell idea would be interesting to see pulled off by characters like Bo Rai Cho. smile

If anyone remembers battle arena toshiden, dives were used in the game to avoid projectiles as well. However they were slow and didn't come off as well. Another great idea.

By rolls you mean recovery rolls right? If so the ones from DA need to be enhanced for this game.

The flip idea is interesting and the wall jumps would make this game cool.

Great ideas overall.

There have already been variations of these things, with the exception of wall jumps. Even then, I don't think the mechanic inside MK would allow it to ALL characters. Maybe one, here and there, like the impales/evades/taunts/powerups.

there also could be the possibility of using other things in the enviroment to escape/attack... maybe a bar or something over head to swing over the opponents' head, and maybe land a back kick as you land on the otherside... but the opponent could duck your airial attack, of course flipping off walls and swinging and whatnot would need an attack set of its own, and if these moves were person and style specific(the flipping and swinging) then that would add more individuality to the characters during a fight... I think if that were implemented, maybe changing fighting styles in mid-air... so if you swing through the air at someone, they wouldn't expect a weapon attack if you don't have your weapon out, but you pull your sword out and attack right before you get to them... but then fighting style switching and attacking would have to be sped up... and aerial weapon attacks would need pretty specific timing...
While rolling in some stylesif the person attacks and misses you I suppose while rolling or being on your back you could use your feet to take them down... that might be useful with Bo 'Rai Cho in his drunken stance, because I think there are some ground moves in that style... not sure, but I like the idea of putting these things into the game... later

Awesome ideas! I'd love to see the acrobatics on the bars and the mid-air style change! Those would be great in game!

there was a unused button on the da control scheme the could put a dodge button on along with the block because blocking a sword doesn't make sense

I didn't read thru all of the replies in this thread, but what about doing something like the position changer like on tekken 4 where you can switch positions with ur opponent... so then they will be against the wall. I know it is kinda copying but I really liked this in Tekken 4.

There was some stuff in there!!

If u get hit against a wall, you can roll away to the side. Or jump up and flip off the wall behind your opponent (like the pic a few posts above), or jump at the wall, spin around and kick and one more i think.

Some of wall attacks would be awesome too.


I'd like the cool looking evasion flips to be done sort of like the Timed side step in MKDA and VF4.

Timed side step turns in to some kind of flip.

I might just happen with fireballs when you are like a jump distance away.


I'd be nice if it was just like a regular move too.

Like tap Up+3+4 or just tap UP, UP fast it could be like a new side step, like a variation on the >> quick step command.


The extra side step might link to some attacks too, like a sweep, or scorpion could throw the spear while in the air.

Nice ideas dude. Scorpion throwing the spear in mid-air would be pretty cheap. But everything else seems cool.

Hey I like this! That would be cool for certain characters like Sub-Zero like you said, Scorpion (backflip off the wall and in mid air throw out his spear) Or Tanya too (she could whip out a boomerang or two) Or Mileena could push off the wall and (with her Sai out) dive at the opponent Sai first. This is definitely a cool idea. Good job.

I said above that Scorpion throwing the spear in mid air would be pretty cheap. It'd be weird as he'd have to reel them in after landing. Moves that disable the opponentlike the Spear and Subs Ice Blast would have to be made avoidable otherwise they'd be abused. The other attacks though, like the diving weapon attacks sound pretty cool.

What if the mid-air attacks had different functions than the grounded ones. Lioke Scorpion can through his spear and as he comes down he flings the opponent into the air with the spear. As for things like Sub-Zero's ice blast being avoidable, Tgrant, that's where your ideas come in.
To fix the cheapness of a side flip aerial spear toss.

You could have it so you can do a side step to avoid it, if you time it right.

The same as the side step in VF4. If you do it at the right moment, you will be able to move before you fully recover from your attack.

What they could do is, when scorpion throws the spear and you are still in the recovery animation.

You could tap Block at the right moment, and you would do like a dodge, lean back or to the side, maybe do a tumble to avoid the projectile.


problem solved smile

A move like that for scorpion would look so awesome.

I think it's worth it.

That would work well, Bleed and I wouldn't mind seeing those aerial moves in. I'd also like to see a Spear counter where someone sidesteps and pulls on the Spear pulling Scorpion towards them! That would really screw him! It'd be funny if they did it on the aerial one and just slammed him down to the ground.

Cartwheels, Wall Jumps, and Flips didn't go so well with the Tao Feng(MK Wannabe)game. They seemed so off-the-wall(literally) and didn't fit the game. Example: Your fighting your oppenent when suddenly, he backflipstowards a wall, jump off said wall, and do some kind of combo hitting high and low. Also, if they implented this in the next game and they had all deathtraps on all stages, that could rise another problem.

Ermac rolls out of the way of danger, when the Sub-Zero reacts and uses his quick Dragon Style to counter and stay on the offense. Ermac goes flying into a trap.
