I like him alot. I'm guessing it is in fact the combination of Quan Chi and Drahmin. Those two would have to go somewhere. Quan Chi is too vital to the story line to just disappear. A scab is part dead, and part living. A mix of Drahmin and Quan Chi fits this description.

I'm more than willing to bet that 'Skab' is just the temporary name they're using for Drahmin so they can save time. Remember in MK3 Cyrax and Sektor were Mustard and Ketchup, Sindel was Muchacha, etc. Skab just sounds way to much like Drahmin...its ridiculous how similar they seem.

Skab looks like he's going to be one of my new favorite charcters.I liked Drahmin alot even though alot of people will disagree with me.

scab is indeed a intresting character but they could make abetter name for him. if he is a mix between quan-chi and drahmin is name should be quamin.

Another of my crazy ideas. Maybe Skab and Dairou could be one in the same? Hotaru and Dairou would be too similiar if they were both in the game (and not connected), so maybe we might see the samurai, Hotaru and the walking scab, Dairou. Maybe he was also intended to be the Krypt Keeper in MKDA?

Skab is a unique name. I like it. But with a name like that he has to be disgusting. His face is very much like thin skin over a skull. It looks as if he is bleeding all the time.

He certainly looks cool enough, and as for the name, I can almost guarantee it's a temporary dubbing. But t doesn't sound too bad if you pronounce it "Sk-AH-b".

My opinion, SKAB is cool name, and he has a cool image. My theory that could indeed be KABAL. Kabal does have a disfigured face when he takes off his mask. Think of it, S-K-A-B, it has K-A-B in his name. It could just be a working name, or a new name for Kabal, or totally new character. It'll be cool if it turned out to be Kabal. If not, I agree he should have an imprtant role in MK:D.

lets try and break it all down then. there have been many rumours floating around about this character but which one to believe?

he is reiko - clothing is similar, could have "deformed" due to the power of kahns helmet. also if clothing is anything to go by, then you could also say that he looks like rain as well. if he is either of these two characters, why not just retain their original name? deception purposes - i think not. neither character was ever crucially important to employ an elaborate deception scheme.

he is a new look for drahmin - nope. the prison stage now confirms that drahmin retained his own look and is loked in one of the cells in the background. so no merge with quan chi either.

quan chi and drahmin merged - see above.

liu kang's "zombie" form - i personally would like it if this was true, and kang's body under the control of the DK. think about it, zombies possess no identity of their former self and so the DK would name him and give him a lowly servants name for sick humour more than anything else. however due to some sources saying lius zombie form is an alt costume of his spirit form it makes this theory highly unlikely.

he is kabal - i think he is too ninjarish to be kabal. i'd say this is about as far fetched as thinking he is rain.

he is a new character - given his appearance you would almost have to bet that he would be an oni or some kind of demon or spectre. hopefully he is a sevant of the DK and then the torturings in the netherrealm were so intense that he lost all identity... who knows? who calls themselves Skab??? this last theory looks like the most probable but as to his true story only time will tell.

probably because that render is an alt. for noob saibot. "skab" was seen with sub's and mileena's alt. renders in that german mag...and everyone seems to forget that german mag is the ONLY source for this alleged skab character.

Didn't we get the name "Skab" from the same people that said Ken Masters was in the game? I believe we did...and if so, I am pretty sure the name is either wrong or subject to change.

I for one think Skab is really Liu Kang as a Zombie. That's my nutty idea.

Too an extent Skab and Noob could be the same character. I get this information from two videos at IGN.

Video 1: Noob and Skab are both seen in this video. Noob fights Ermac (and is killed) and Skab fights Sindel. Notice how they both have the same style. It doesn't make sense to me as to why they gave two renders the same style if they were testing.

Video 2: Skab is shown fighting Ben. Ben kicks Skab off of a cliff onto what appears to be a beach. Skab has an alternate fighting style from the previous video, yet I can't recall the name of the style.


For some reason, I'd rather have Skab as an all new character rather than have someone like, say, Jax return (you ruined the Muay Thai fighting style you son of a bitch!). With such an interesting look, he could very well develop into a new and interesting character. Slain by Noob and now wants vengeance? Kind of a Scorpion-ish story but egh...

There are so many options with Skab in regards as to who he could be.

He could even be Shao Kahn for all we know. (Hey, there's a theory for someone to run with!)

I think it's something we're just going to have to wait and see about.

Edit: The reason why you haven't seen any pics of him is because the only pictures we do have of him are from a magazine, and by copying their images, it's a violation of copyright laws. However dmitch has him as an avatar.

SKAB is also in the new E32K4 trailer fighting BEN KOBRA.
