I honestly don't like the select screen that much... It's just too bland... It's probably not final though. It needs a better background and it needs the selected character name somewhere (not everyone is a MK addict that recognizes all the guys like us).

By the way, Blaze is next to the bosses as expected and some other guy I'm assuming it's.... Meat?!?! I hope it's a new boss and not Meat... It looks badass though.

Good to have you back, Max. Taven and Daegon are brothers, incubated somewhere beneath Earthrealm by their father, Argus. Dragons were assigned to each brother, Orin and Caro, who were responsible for releasing them when Blaze instructed them to do so. Mortal Kombat: Unchained was around the time when Blaze became aware of one brother (Daegon) being prematurely revived, but by whom exactly is unknown at this point. Taven is the new Shujinko of Konquest, and his objective is to locate a powerful weapon deposited by his father, seek out Blaze and destroy him before Daegon does. There is a lot more information regarding Argus and Delia, but a lot of the storyline is unclear right now, most of which concerns Blaze. Hope that helped.

Taven is the main character that will be on konquest, he will be competing with his brother named Daegon... and their mission is to deafeat blaze, so as to be the new protector of edenia...... i sugest you find more on them on Wikipedia.

That does not look anything like meat to me. If it is him, he is a brand new character in my mind. He don't look like "meat from mk4" He looks better.

What happened with the nice bagrounds we had in older MKgames? Those gradiant backgrounds are ugley.

I hope and I think this one ain't final, using the Beat up renders for Quan Chi and Shang from MKDA is retarted as fuck, some of the characs have big ass heads (Quan Chi, Onaga) while others are way too small (Nitara, Kai) haha

Anyways it looks all too photoshoped for me to beleive it's the final one.

Now this was a nice select screen, all characs icons look fresh:

Actually, as a graphic design/3D Animation major, I can tell you with nearly 100% confidance that what you're looking at is a photoshop.

I realize it's an official piece of art, mind you, but that's far too nice to be a screen-cap. It looks like the background is a screencap, Scorpion and Sub-Zero are renders, with the backgrounds cropped out, and the actual select screen was layed-out in photoshop partially from new artwork, partially from existing.

I wouldn't be surprised if the KaK gets moved to a less arbitrary spot. (Seriously... what's he doing up there... I think unless they find a way to center him, he shoudl be the final box, or at least the last one in that row... why break up the ninjas dead center?) Or, if the crispness and beveling on the grid and red and blue select boxes gets toned down to "television quality" if you will... and if all the characters whose portraits are made from existing art get new ones. (I mean regardless of what Reptile ends up looking like, that's a cinematic render from shaolin monks, not a play model from Armageddon. Mark my words, even if he's remodeled to have the same costume, it won't be the same portrait.)

Wow. I thought opf the same thing! I know its official, but it's too "clean" to be a screen cap. My guess is as you mentionned the background was screencapped and the rest is old renders photoshoped on top of the new ones (just to cover up what their new looks are)... Then we can all be happy and have brand new renders for everyone, new costumes too I hope. Plus the two question marks cover the two characters (Khameleon I hope, dunno know who else, don't care much though Gemini would be a nice touch). That's what I think.

You see how all the background colors are different colors. Like for all the ninjas its orange, all the male characters light blue, all the MAIN characters/sorceres and gods blue, girls purple, bosses red.

Thats pretty cool. Guess they are trying to break them up into groups pretty hard. Actually this is looking less and less like the actual screen....some1 might of photoshoped this up.

Eh, who knows.
