It is severely important that the gameplay has to be more in-depth than current fighting games.
If you noticed in like 99.9% of MKDA Reviews that either give the game between 7-8.5 rating compared to VF4 -9.0 and Teeken -9.0 and fucking Silly Soul Callibur II - 10/10.
The reviews say "Mortal Kombat Deadly alliance lacks depth in its gameplay whilst looking at other top fighting Games, Mortal kombat is shallow and underneath them gameplay wise.

So, make MKD surpass VF4:E,TEKKEN4, SC2 and DOA4 so MK can reclaim its fighting crown which is rightfully theirs, deeper gameplay - better game!

MKD is going to improve on MKDA, but in itself it has it's own style. If they don't like it, tough. It's what the fans like not what some reviewers like.

as far as gameplay goes, I always thought that 2 hand to hand fighting styles were a bit over the top.

I would drop 1 of the hand to hand styles and then expand upon the remaining styles further so that they had atleast 40 to 50 moves in each style.

Oh, and add Capoeira!

soul calibur is not silly, and while its true that the mkda gameplay might have seemed deep at first due to the multiple fighting styles i personally soon discovered they have little real impact on the gameplay.

Heh, who in the world of MK could you imagine using Capoeira? Agree with the styles though. They should either stick with one and expand or making moves more useful.

Lol yeh.....but off the top of my head, Li Mei. Maybe even one of the cyborgs would be cool IMO - I'll go with Sektor because he's my favourite cyborg. Failing that - a completely new character that we haven't seen yet. grin

I don't see why they couldn't implement capoeria into a new character from earth realm
Of course it has to be more in depth and better than any current fighting game cuz it will be the newest one. That goes without saying..

But yea.. I do wanna see an improved fighting system and animation which we're supposedly getting.

MK is my favorite fighting game, but SC2 is much, much deeper than MKDA. Sorry, but this is the truth. I like MKDA and CAN't WAIT 'till MKD came out.
I dont think that MKD will be a deeper game, I think we will get more features, but not deeper gameplay.

Its coming out too soon for that..

Now the NEXT MK game... has to be hooked up.

Well, I think you need to look at things much deeper. First of all, more time was spent on Tekken 4 and Soul Calibur 2. Secondly, MK: DA had a new fighting engine to it while Tekken 4's engine and Soul Calibur 2's engine didn't really improve or evolve at all. Yes, I wanted MK: DA to have more depth and stuff but the MK team didn't really have a lot of time. And from the stuff that we know so far about Mortal Kombat: Deception, I doubt that the other fighters can compete with it. Believe me, MK: D is going to be deliciously evil (in a good way of course wink).
The Stewie influence is apparent in here...

lol...

But MKD should still be good.

We dont want the game TOO complicated like VF

Soul Calibur, Tekken, Virtua Fighter - they're all much deeper than Mortal Kombat as regards fighting system. But it's not the point. The point is to have fun playing fighting game and that doesn't depend only on fighting system. There's a lot more factors that make a game fun to play. So if U have a good time playing MK then where's the problem? I take pleasure in playing all those games. But if someone likes only one game, there's still no need to flame the other just because it's better than the one U like.
As for the Capoeira, it definitely should be in MK:D. It's lethal fighing style, which fits the MK universe perfectly. A new capoerista-character would be great, but I wouldn't mind if one of the old fighters makes use of it. Just imagine Kai doin' some ginga grin

P.S. Eddy & Christie rule! wink

Very true. Tekken and SC2 are deeper. But like it was pointed out, MKDA was the first game to implement its new fighting engine. SC and Tekken were just re used from the previous installments. So its makes sense that MKDA would not be up to the standard of the other greats. Now that the MK team has gotten their feet wet, i expect Deception to be much better than MKDA was. It may not be as great as the SC2 or Tekken, but i think its safe to assume it will be much better. But Im sure if MKD took the same amount of time that SC2 took to make, it could deffintly surpass all the others.

I like how MK has advanded from 2D, to 3D and now able to land off into different platforms while fighting..unless that scene was only meant to happen for the FMV of Baraka vs. Mileena (Li Mei?). Do any of you think MK could ever be as close to graphics as XBOX - Dead or Alive? Not that I'm complaining about how great things are now, but just a thought..

I think we should start bets on what the game is going to get rated because i think that it will get a 10/10 because with the Konqust mode alone, just think of the possibilties. This game is going to be a Mk fans dream come true, i know im already saying this is going to be the best game ever.

Till this day I am very suprised that people think that that a videogame mag's score of a game is a fact. To me people not buying or trying a video game just because a a vid game mag said so. People think it is fact, but it is there only opinion. To me MK: DA is the best fighting game I have ever played, and I dont care what any vid game mags or web sites have to say about it. play the game yourself and be your own judge. I own several (70 rated games ) I love them. so it does matter what people say as long as you like them. One of the best things to me that MK beats all other fighter that VF4, tekken, and SC2 hasn't and most likey will never beat Mortal Kombat in is its mytholgy. To me MK just has a more interesting storyline than any other fighting game, and it looks like will always to me
