The Noob-Smoke fight could be quite challenging, and from the description it sounds like a endurance style fight just as i thought. Sweet!
It is a fresh change. Besides, having a powerful monster before Onaga would be overkill in my opinion.

I LOVE the Idea of them being Sub-Boss...The dont have to be Monsters...They can Be Powerful on their own...they also have a speed advantage...they can change any time and ya wont know when or where they will come from!

I have to see it in Action first. It might be great. That is what I wanted in MKDA; Quan Chi and Tsung fighting together as the boss. For example Tsung starts attacking then back off for Quan Chi, but Tsung doesn't go way, you just see him away from the fighting range and so on.
If only it was like that,... But as of Noob Smoke, It could be interesting as long as it is challenging!

I'm not liking what I've heard about the Noob-Smoke tag team so far.
I'll hold off any real judgement until I see them in action in the game, but based on what I've been hearing so far, it sounds like they ruined two good charcaters.

I'm very disappointed with this. If that is a nearly finalised version of MKD and they're indeed the sub boss then I think it really does suck. But, as long as they provide a decent challenge, I guess it won't be bad!

Well, we all pretty much knew he was going to be the sub-boss when the dual character thing was confirmed. Why would they have two of the most powerful characters in MK working together just for the hell of it.
black_dragon - I agree. Smoke and Noob's strength is in their speed. There was a thread a while back about having a speedy sub-boss to balance the powerful Dragon King end boss, and it looks like that's the way they went.

MKO Released vids on them a long time ago...Noob is fighting then out of Nowhere Smoke Appears for a Few Seconds when he pops up from the ground...then He Goes back and Noob Attacks Furuioulsly...I REALLY am digging this!

I think this is a terrible idea. But maybe tis cause I dont like either Noob or Smoke much. But it does mean the sub bosses will be playable. But I hope its jsut an endurance match.

I like it. I just hope they are interesting enough both gameplay- and story-wise.

hmm for me.. kitaro wasn't the hardest guy in mk2.. it was smoke... and in umk.. it was noob.. so.. both in one team=one big ass challege.. i like the idea..

Noob, eeer, Boon said that they have great Sub boss which will be playable.

I love the Tradition. FUCK Noob-Smoke, this is extremely dissapointing. Like many others, i was expecting a big, strong, and powerful sub-boss. They let down 2 great characters that couldve been the possibility......a Chimera, and most of all, an improved Reptile. How sad.
Not to make a BIG deal out of it, but Noob-Smoke totally doesnt fit the sub-boss style at all. If he was a semi-sub-boss i wouldve been cool with it, but as our ACTUAL sub-boss? Damn..........and hes playable to.
MKD is almost out, but i still do think they can change this for the final version. But what are the chances of that happening? Blah.

I think Noob/Smoke being the Sub-Boss was a given once it was declared they were "fused into one".

It's ok. I like the idea. We had too much big monsters in tha past, it's time for something different. Noob - Smoke will be strongest sub buss since Kintaro's MK2 days.

See...no one has mentioned this yet, everyone seems upset about the tradition, and the fact that the sub-boss isn't some big bad monster...and that's fine...however, the idea here is to keep the focus on Onaga, as the feircest, baddest guy around...and that's FINE with me...
HOWEVER...what's with the godamn storyline?
Noob-Smokes bio, makes it seem like Noob is out for one guy, himself.
It seems like he's trying to make his own claim to power...and being the sub-boss for the big baddie in any game is almost like you're "second in command" or the boss's "Last defense"....
So it would imply there's some loyalty...even though his bio is COMPLETELY different...about how he wants to build a following to those only loyal to him...WTF? That's the biggest travesty, if he is indeed the sub-boss.
