Yea, I get what Bezou is saying. He's more dissapointed that he wont be seeing a new big monster as the sub-boss even thought there is one as the boss. It's just kind of a weird thing when I think about it, but i'll get used to it. Just like i'll get used to alot of new things in Deception. I hope I'm not dissapointed with the game, though if I liked DA it seems like i'll love Deception.
best mk game:
Deception(hopefully)
MK2

Agreed. But hey, I like MKDA more then Mk2.

I'm happy about Noob Smoke being the Sub-Boss. First of all, it gives Smoke and Noob, two underrated characters (well, Noob at least) that never got a real chance to prove themselves. Now that they've teamed up and have they're own special moves and fatals they should be badass.
2nd of all, I'm glad that the MK Team is being more creative when it comes to the sub-bosses. Think about it: All of the MK Sub-Bosses have been huge monsters:
MK1: Goro
MK2: Kintaro
MK3: Motaro
MK4: Goro
MKDA: Moloch
It's nice that they came up with something new and gave the big scary monster angle to the main boss, the DK.

I think they actually will have two sub-bosses... I think noob-smoke maybe something like shang tsung in MKII, he's not really a sub-boss but you ALWAYS face him before kintaro. I think what would be cool to give an initial surprise would be to only have noob-smoke and the dragon king listed on the fight "tower" After you beat noob-smoke another sub-boss appears out of nowhere, and you have to go again... sorta like in mk1.

The Noob-Smoke fight could be quite challenging, and from the description it sounds like a endurance style fight just as i thought. Sweet!
It is a fresh change. Besides, having a powerful monster before Onaga would be overkill in my opinion.
I think this is a wonderful sub-boss idea on Boon's part.
I know its no big dealk, , I guess its a new change, a "fresh" change....but it just.....sucks. LOL.
Well, I will admit that even though I WILL give them a chance, a monster for sub-boss was the best option.
I guess the endurance match is cool. but them as the sub-boss?....

Exactly, this is new and fresh i'm going to love the challenge of fighting two on one! It will be so exciting!

We don't need a huge and powerful creature, we have already Dragon King as final boss for that... Noob Smoke as sub-boss is an original idea (this idea could have been used for Shang Tsung/Quan Chi in MKDA, but only as bosses, of course)

It's nice that Smoke is finally getting the respect that he deserves, IMO, and that Noob is finally doing things to actually warrant it, like killing shokans and thinking for himself.
And it is interesting that they're a sub-boss. Fighting them will be a challenge.
But I'm going to find myself missing the feeling of a great big shokan fist in my character's face. I wish we had Kintaro back.
All in all, I'm fine with it. Change is good, I'm all for a little break in the tedium.

well the dragon king is a huge boss creature so wouldnt that kinda balance things out. shao kahn was tall but not a hulking beast. me thinks dragon king plus large shokan, etc., would have been overkill. besides noob - smoke is 100x better than that steaming pile of shit moloch. wheee lets make a big, blue troll that growls and has a third eye *strokes hand in air*

I refuse to believe Noob-Smoke is the Sub-Boss until Midway/Boon confirms it...
The "real" Sub-Boss might have been disabled in that build of the game...ever think of that?

The funny thing about denial is it only can stave off the inevitable for so long. wink
Noob and Smoke fans are worrying too much about this. I severely doubt they'll remain fused in the next game. It's just an experiment at something new. Or would you rather all play the same game every time? wink

It would be overkill to have a monster like Kintaro then go on to face another monster in the Dragon King? The final boss is generally a smaller, cunning individual. Shao Kahn was physically intimidating, but he was no Kintaro or Motaro in terms of being a monster. The Dragon King is the ultimate being, having another monster would just take away from his intimidation factor.

I don't mind playable sub-bosses. I mind playable end bosses. Well, I mind playable sub-bosses too. but not Noob-Smoke. wink
But no end boss should ever be playable. Or else they'll just be as strong as a human opponent.

I kinda like the idea... i don't know... it's original...
I REALLY like the concept of Noob SMoke.. name kinda sux though... and the dfatality as they described it doesn't sound like much..
I bet the gameplay with NS is gonna be ally fun though

ahem, IMO Noob-Smoke itself is just a goofy damn idea... perhaps when you defeat 'them' it'll cause the two entities to split? lets cross our fingers

I find it strange that Kitana is stated on her bio that she is the Dragon King's personal bodyguard if Noob Smoke is the sub-boss, and yet Noob's bio states he is going out on his own with no master.
I don't mind the sub-boss not being a big monster, but I don't like the idea of Noob Smoke being it since I wanted to use them and being a boss has a cheap stigma to it and probably means they'll be a royal pain to unlock.
I hope they're just an endurance match, since the current demo was only 80% done.

agreed... if you look at bosses, 'traditionally' the sub-boss is always a powerful monster/creature, while the final boss is simply cheap (Goro/Shang Tsung... Kintaro/Shao Kahn... Motaro/Shao Kahn... Moloch/Shang & Quan Chi)... now the boss is actually more powerful than the sub-boss, which IMO, is the way it should be

I guess I'm still holding out hope that they'll change this. I mean, the MK team has been guarding the sub-boss secret through the whole production cycle. Plus, Noob and Smoke began as seperate characters on the select screen, now they're together. Noob was on the MK4 select screen pretty far into the production cycle before he was removed. My point is, this can change.
I like the idea of Noob-Smoke. I think it's a cool idea, and from the video's I've seen of them, they look like they're a helluva lot of fun to play as. That said, I agree with queve and several others that just don't think that noob-smoke should be the sub-boss. The sub-sub boss? Okay fine. But if there's no connection to the DK, then why are they the sub-boss? I was kinda hoping that Rayden or Kitana or Liu Kang would be the sub boss.
MKKitana had a great idea about the sub-boss being contextual. Characters could fight their enemies. Heck, I'd love to go one better and have some story play out before that match, kind of like making it a 3 part story where act I is their bio, act 2 is midquest, they've come upon their enemy, and act 3 is their ending. I dunno, just my opinion on it.
Either way, I like noob-smoke, but not as the sub boss. I'd be okay with a speedy sub boss, since the DK is huge, but not two guys that have always been hidden or peripheral characters. Unless their story actually has to deal with the main part of the plot this time, which it doesn't seem to.
Oh, and as for the earlier argument about Scorp and Sub-Zero taking a few games off. I say turn Scorpion into Hanzo, his mortal form. As for sub-zero...how old can this guy get?? He's going to be a frosty pile of bones in MK7!!

alright think of it this way.
the dragon king is a fucking beast. he will pwn us all many many many many, etc, etc, times.
the video i saw of noob-smoke a while ago when it was confirmed i think it was gamersday, looked very promising.
youre gonna be just chillen, thinking youve won the match, then all of a sudden, N-S is gonna pull this sick ass lighting fast alternating combo and bust the shit out of you.
then, i think, is when youll re think them as being a lame sub-boss.
(sorry, i read the first post then skimmed a few, saw something about chimera, heard that awhile ago, so sorry if this is out of order or off topic at this point) grin

I think it's a good idea but why wasn't it like this in DA against the DA. They loked to be cool in the vid I saw.
However I don't like the break in the tradition. I suppose they wanted Onaga to seem more powerful
