The image doesn't look so much like a still render to me than it does a screen capture from a cinematic.
Perhaps it's from the opening? Or perhaps we are getting in-game cinemas and endings as people have been wanting too?

Now, all they need to do is add in Karasu as a secret fighter out for revenge from the Grid and say that it's Liu's "missing" brother..since his Grid storyline kinda hints at that.

I think that the overall design is awesome but I think he could probably use a change in the eyes department. In mk 2 his eyes were just a solid black and I think that added to the souless feel that he had goping for him.
