Sub-Zero's Fatality:

We could censor Sub Zero's spine rip for the game like this:



Step 1: Move in and grab the neck violently.

Step 2: Rip off head along with spine, but as I've stated before, colour change silhouetting can be used to censor. It's been used in some retro anime (such as Fist of the North Star) to sanitize scenes with copious amounts of blood. Silhouetting the characters black and the background red is a good and artistic way of toning down the visceral nature of blood letting. Monochroming can also be used.

I've heard that the problem wasn't gore but DC not wanted to see their character's heads ripped off. I think this is just pussy crap. If you want to play MK, you play MK. Teen rating, notwithstanding, and they let Joker shoot people (bit bold in this age of gun anxiety).

Of course, Sub-Zero is likely to simply receive his freeze shatter instead.


Kung Lao's Fatality:



Step 1: Zoom in past opponents head...

Step 2: Establishing a first person view of Kung Lao throwing his hat.

Step 3: Hat flies at screen and splits it in two with as much or little blood as needed. Screen could go red, split in two and slide apart, whatever, but it'll pass a Teen rating.

His badass MKDA Fatality could have been done too.

Sadly, Lao isn't in though. Dammit!


Liu Kang's Fatality:



Step 1: The only step. Dragon Morph and swallow them more or less whole with as little or as much blood as needed and can pass the rating. I would imagine MK4's Fatality could also be accepted if the blood is toned down.

He also has his MK1 "Fatality", which could act like the DC hero's Brutalities.


Other characters:

Kano: Unlike Sub-Zero, Kano is problematic, since his theme is ripping organs out, and if not that, then slicing up the body with lasers. His heart rip can most likely be solved with the silhouetting//monochroming method, but that's pending on DC's mutilation angst.

Scorpion:
Toasty!

Sonya:
Fire kiss is as easy as Scorpion's.

Cage:
Not in, dammnit! I guess he got CAGED. Neck break uppercut would have been the ticket.

Baraka:
His MK2/4 Impale Fatality is effective without requiring a lot of blood.

Raiden:
Electrocution till they fall down. Add some convulsing on the floor and then they stop moving, emphasizing the deadliness while remaining sanitary.
Or for dark humour: A single sharp bolt like a real lightning strike, and they go stiff and fall down like a post.

Kitana:
Throw her fans into the head? A modified Kiss of Death?

Jax:
Difficult. Both his Head Smash and Arm Rip are probably too violent. I guess he could just shoot them or kerb stomp them for five hours.

Shao Kahn:
Sends opponent flying right up into the air and off screen with massive golf swing. Cranes head with hand shielding eyes to watch them go.

Shang Tsung:
Soul Steal. The Ultimate non-violent yet disturbing Fatality. Hopefully opponents wither to a corpse (turn to dust?) as well. Shang's got to have the Soul Steal.

Batman:
As a hero no censorship is really required. Have no idea what his Brutality will be though.

Green Lantern:
Anything involving summoning things to smash the opponent with.

Superman:
As of so far: He piledrives them into the ground with cool debris effects. I like it, but it seems a bit too fatal really.

Captain Marvel:
Generic beatdown.

Wonder Woman:
Lasso Brutality most likely. No censorship needed for DC heroes.

Flash:
Flash can make things explode by vibrating through them, but DC heroes don't kill. He'll probably just make them dizzy or something.

Joker:
Already revealed. One of the best fatals ever, and the very first to use guns. A gun Fatality seems somewhat controversial, but I guess they thought it was OK. I love it anyway. It has the dark humour and stylism that can be better than outright brutality.

Lex Luthor:
Dunno. Bitchslap the opponent? Nah. He'll crush them in his powersuit.

Catwoman:
Thighs anyone? I would like to see some clawing to the eyes, but that might be too violent. People are squeamish about eyeballs.

Deathstoke:
Is he a villain? Is he a hero?
Another guntality? A swordtality, maybe a decap, if DC can get over their phobia. I've already shown how it can be censored.

Darkseid:
I can't really think of anything sanitary for him that hasn't already been done.



Hopefully, the censorship will bring out more stylism and cool, after decades of trying to top the last violence.

darkseid could dig a huge hole in the ground, then throw the opponent in the hole ,then cover up the opponent with the rubble. just by looking at some of his pictures he looks like a character that could do this. although i know nothing about him until he was mentioned in this game.

green lantern could use his giant hand move to grab the opponent and fling him in the air, then as the opponent starts to fall toward him he could then use his hammer as a ball bat to knock the opponent through the air, as you hear the opponent screaming until they disappear.

Darkseid's fatality will have his OMEGA BEAMS

Yeah, I looked those up. He can disassemble matter that way.

Kano throws his knife into his opponent's stomach, walks over to the person and stabs him/her with another knife, then he takes out the one in his opponent's chest and slits his/her's throat.

Superman could lift his opponent over his head then perform an ultimate backbreaker. Then he throws him/her into the air and laser beams the hell out of his opponent.

most of the finishers you said "no much blood" if there is no blood in mortal kombat nobody will have a reason to call it (mortal kombat)

Hey, I didn't decide to give the game a Teen Rating.

I predict that Sub Zero's fatality will be his Ice Grenade fatality but more ice chunks that blood

They should make the fatality's more cinematic like. It's 3d for crying out loud, be creative with the camera. Make it all feel more dramatic, more gory. Let us feel the pain of them.

Like when Scorpion burns his opponent. He falls down in 3 seconds or so, with a "little scream". Damn, why not let the fire start slowly, burning him more and more while the opponent is trying to rub the fire off. Take close up angles of the face, where you see his panic. Let it last for a while.
You know, more dramatic.
I liked it in mortal kombat 1 and 2, when the characters would pause a bit, then the environment went darker, scary sound effect came and then they pulled of the fatality.

Mortal Kombat is a great game and a gory one. But it lacks a lot of "emotion".

SUB ZERO:

Sub could freeze the opponents legs and step away while they struggle. Then you charge at the opponent and sorta do a rugby tackle on them that tears them in half. Heh, i came up with this in like, what, 10 seconds?

SUPERMAN:

Superman uppercuts the opponent and sends them flying. While in midair, Superman freezes the ground beneath the opponent, then they fall through and big splash of water comes out. Superman then walks to the hole, and starts firing lasers into the hole while the opponent screams. No blood, and pretty hilarious ^^.

SCORPION:

Scorpion does the classic Toasty!, but instead of fire, lava comes out, and it leaves the opponent to flail around submerged . Kinda rips off Reptile, but im sure they can make a new one for him.

BATMAN:

Batman jumps into the air, and uses his cape as a pair of wings, and flies into the opponent and kicks him into a building.

FLASH:

Flash speeds off in the oppisite direction of the opponent, leaving him to wonder. Then he appears charging behind him and sends him flying. Flash runs to the place where he'll land and kinda elbows him in the back.

SHAO KAHN:

Kahn upper swings his trusty mallet and flings the opponent into the air. He then waits for the opponent while doing funny things, like reading a newspaper, or drinking a coffee, and halfway through one of these, the opponent scares the crap out of Kahn by landing on the spike if his mallet.

What do you guys think? One of these might crop up into the game? Oh, and Darkseids ( or Deathstroke, the one with the sword. ) , it could do him drawing his sword and doing a "anime styled quick dash ", like the screens go red and Darkseid's shiloutte slashes the opponent, and end's with the opponent collapsing ( not literaly, as in fallin over, not in pieces

MOAR!

SUB-ZERO:

Sub freeze's the floor from him to his opponent while making spikes at his end. Sub-Zero stands aside and lets the opponent slip 'n slide very slowly. Then when he's about to hit the spikes, Sub punches the opponent of the ice floor and melts everything.

SUPERMAN:

Superman freeze's the bottom half of opponent then steps up to him. He then starts pummeling his opponent, with each hit the opponent bouncing back, hitting the floor and coming up in time to be hit again. And at the end, Superman uppercuts the opponent and there legs unfreeze and he hits the floor.

SCORPION:

He pulls out his spear, sticks it into the opponents chest, twists, then pull's back and the entire ribcage comes with it while his chest collapses.

FLASH:

Flash dash's around the opponent while throwing punches, so it looks like 5 Flash's hitting the enemy. Then Flash comes to a sudden halt while his opponent quivers violently, then there head twists very sharply and it snaps there neck.

RAIDEN:

Raiden takes out his staff and sticks it into the opponent. Then he does a pole vault with opponent pinned to the floor and go's flying as Raiden land's on his feet and he jerks the staff up, and Raiden is left wondering where they went.

I dont know about you, but i'm seriously thinking about getting a job as a fatality designer for Midway.

I would love to see Flash punch the opponent from all sides "simultaneously".

I think Green Lantern could maybe form a giant hammer to uppercut, then the opponet falls from a skyscraper-like height. Suppose Flash could do some kinda crazy combo where he hits you from one side of the screen to the other back and forth, like tennis.

It ́s not good from Ed Boon censoring his game by himself to bring it closer to younger people. Don ́t get me wrong but MK is MK. Unbloody Fatalities since MK2 is like a big party without alcohol you know. Kitanas Fatality was changing to throw the fans in the chest and not in the head...

I like to perform a classic TOASTY!! fatality with Scorpion:

Press down,down,down,attack4 in the sweeprange and enjoy :)
