I wonder WHY they reviewed Xbox version first, even though PS2 is out first.
I wonder if that 7 is judged really on the game on Xbox or PS2?
Xbox and PS2 has BIG differences, so I don't know.

Its greg kasavin. Trust me guys dont listen to him. He's full of crap and is an extremely bad reviewer. He said when he reviewed deception that the fighting engine is amazing and could last for years. Other sites have nothing but praise for the game so dont listen.

fighting engine could last for years? I never remember hearing that from him.

That's a pretty fair, indeed good, review, based on what I've seen of the game. As soon as it was obvious they were reycling 2-4 year old character models I was pissed off. IMO the game got off lightly on that score in the review.
As for the rest of it, I never expected to like the Fatality system that much- it seems lazy- and the endings presented to us from the German convention, which many of us believed could *only* be the final ones, are utter bullsh*t.
Looking forward to playing around with KAK and having all the characters in one game, but it should have been so much more.

OH MY GOD. It can't be. A bunch of MK fans disagree with a less-than-stellar review of a rehashed fighter...
Usually Greg is right on the money with alot of the other reviews he has done.

Yeah, just like he got it right on the money by giving MK: Deception an 8.5, right?

King jolly: Yup. i remember him saying it. In the vid review he said the core of the game is outstanding and will last fans for a long long time.

The thing is... 7.5/10 might seem like a good score, but by Gamespot standards, it's not good.
8.0 is good, they're gonna say that this game is worth buying. Then you get 7.5 it's like, "This game is okay, but I wouldn't buy it."

A 7.0 from this reviewer is an 8.0 from the rest of the Gamespot staff. This guy absolutely hates rehashes, and he approaches every game with the expectation that it should be a completely new game. It's part of his M.O. to pick up apart sequels that don't revolutionize the gameplay from their predecessor. In part, he's right. We should demand more from developers.
Then again, he probably isn't qualified to discuss the fighting engine on the same level as someone like konqrr or the other obsessive players here on MKO.
And, we all knew that MK was going to be MKD with more fighters, and we're all excited about it regardless.
Lastly, he isn't qualified to say the series will be "lucky" to continue beyond this game. That's like saying Madden would die out from one lackluster entry. To me, he's giving his ego too much credit and counting on too many fellow gamers to heed his judgment. My copy of the game is out for delivery; what about yours?

I agree with cloneofdan. I haven't got the game and I'm already disappointed. They've been recycling for years, but this time they hit the limit man. I CANNOT believe they got rid of the character-unique fatalities... *sigh* You'd think these people would've smartened up by now, huh? It;s just UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE!!!!! So most of the shitloads of characters will have the same models, same moves and same finishers... WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT ABOUT!!!!!!! BRING TOBIAS BACK ALREADY FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!!
Those idiots should know that deep stories or fighting moves didn't make the franchise what it is, it was gore and shock value and now they have taken the fatalities away!?! Bah! Might as well go play MK:DA.
MKA= MK:Disappointment.

True! And one more thing: More Vogel "power" over Ed Boon's one. Vogel is a true hardcore MK fan, and Boon a kiss-ass n00b fan...

Vogel should stage a coup d'état and become Creative Director.
