i think excluding Johnny Cage, Raiden, and Sonya is a bad idea. these are 3 great characters, originals that made this franchise great. Johnny Cage and Raiden in particular are 2 of my all time favorites. Cage was great as a fighter, he just needs a story revamp.

I know, I feel the same way about Sonya I just can't imagine not being able to play as her. in the past when I couldn't get by some other character I would pick Sonya and she'd come thru for me everytime. I really want her back. I said it before and I'll say it again: I hope these "sources" are wrong!

Kel-X, I'll believe you for now but when the game comes out and your wrong, I'll come and find you... no not really, im just messin' around.I sure hope your sources are giving you correct information.

I think Boon is really pushing his luck with killing of and excluding charcters.
It was one thing to kill of liu kang
but its another thing to exclude
SOnya, Kano, Cage and Rayden
Yeah they might not have strong storylines but Mortal komabt is a fighting game and these charcters are good fighters.
I'll be really peeved at him if he doesnt include these charcters.
I mean so far the game should be called mortal Komabt: Ninja's Dream ( Noob, sub,scorp,ermac, reptile and smoke?)

My thought exactly. This game seems to be favoring the ninjas, I mean I like them as much as anyone but if having them all excludes other characters that have no good reason to not be in the game then I say you can have em.

theyre excluding classics to make room for new characters, and some other one that never caught on to begin with. and the ninja thing is very lame. scorpion and sub zero i understand, but noob and ermac is a stretch. johnny cage is one of those characters with a unique storyline that still somehow fits perfectly into the game. if changes were made who could play a mojor role in future games. plus its nice to have diversity as far as story and personality goes for characters. Cages personality has to be one of the best in the game, Sonya too. Cage with his confidance, cokyness, and flashy special moves adds alot to the game. i think removing these elements is a mistake.

I just hope smoke and Fujin are in the game.

what exactly was so spectacular about Fujin, hes a Raiden pretender if you ask me. most of the new characters who made their debuts in MK4 were pretty boring with the exception of Reiko. between Johnny Cage, Sonya, Rayden, Kano, and Jax, 3 should return. id prefer Cage, Sonya and Rayden.

I just think Fujin has the potential to spawn into a great character. As for the rest of mk4's characters (excluding Quan Chi) I coudn't agree more with you. Furthermore, I must say I am happy Sonya and Jax are gone because the whole special forces thing just didnt fit well with the dark mythology theme of mk.

Jax can go, but Sonya will ALWAYS be involved with MK She is just as important as Sub or Scrop. Besides I'll believe she's not in the game when i buy the game and see she isn't there, not before.
PS. Fujin, not so great.

i dont mind seeing cage sonya and jax go. But raiden? Damn, hes like the element of MK. I hope he gets in.

And I believe Smoke was already confirmed. I do believe that's him (in human form) in PSM...

I really hope they bring Raiden back 'cause he's like one of the backbone characters for MK

Well if Kel-X's info and the "robot with the hand on chest pose" returning are both true, then I draw the following conclusions:

Fujin won't be returning. Although he was on both lists Kel-X commented on, so was Sektor. Both Sektor and Smoke had the "hand on chest" pose and were on the first list so one of them would have to be a returning character. Since Kel-X said only one peron on each list were returning you can eliminate Fujin.

That knocks the second list down to Sektor and Mavado. So either Sektor returns with Mavado not, or Mavado returns and Cyber-Smoke is the robot with the hand pose returning. Since I've heard other sources hinting at Mavado return, I'm guessing we'll be seeing the later option.

As for the too many ninjas, it looks like the only "unneccessary" ninjas we'll be seeing are Noob,Ermac, and one Cyber-Ninja. That's only 3 out of 24 so quit complaining. I'd be more worried that several of the 8 new guys turn out to be shovelware characters when they could have been used for more returning guys.

I dont want to say goodbye to these awesome classic characters.

Its not really that much of a big deal to cut characters out.
MK2 had no Sonya or Kano, and it was probably the best 2D MK game made.
MK3 had no Scorpion, Reptile, Raiden or Cage, and we all still loved it and played it.
Shang Tsung, Kano and Kung Lao weren't in MK4, not to mention the absense of the Cyber-ninjas.
And Lui Kang Missed MKDA.


Its a good thing that we are seeing some characters return that we haven't seen for a while. Baraka, Mileena, Kabal, Sindel, Ermac....

Screw the "classic" characters, the new generation (MK:DA & MKDeception) rules the MK Saga!

I personally, don't care if Cage,Kano, or Sonya are missing...Raiden IS abit of a stretch...but I figure they have to have atleast one "protector of earth" and that would most likely be Fujin.


We shouldn't be CRYING about these characters...but wondering about what happened to them in, or AFTER MK:DA

Did Raiden die, or is he an elder god, and no longer participating in defending Earth Realm?

Did Cage die, AGAIN? Did Kano finally get to finish Sonya and Jax off, before Mavado killed him?

Did Shang Tsung die? Maybe he killed Raiden? even though they're not in the game, explaining WHY they aren't, will still be interesting, and I am sure Konquest mode,player bio's, and endings will cover WHY some of these characters are NOT in the game.
