Well I for one think yes!

I don't know why we need soooo many updates and new pics of characters that WONT be part of the default 12. I'm sure it would not have a affected your decision to buy the game had they not revealed all the characters that have been shown to us.

The first two trailers were fanatastic imo, and really built up my anticipation for Deception, but with each new update the excitement of surprises seems to be shrinking.

I mean, what benefit did showing the Dragon King in action actually provide? In other threads people have complained about how in MK4 and MKDA the bosses lost their 'intimidation factor' becasue they were avaiable from the start on the select screen. Many others have claimed Moloch was not threatening becasue they saw him before MKDA was released. I remember when I was 7 or 8, fighting my way to Goro in MK1 for the first time, and pausing the game for like 5 mins thinking 'WTF, how am i supposed to beat him?' as he had such an imposing nature.

I firmly believe that the Dragon King would have had the intimidation factor at a maximum for most players when they battled their way to him for the first time. His stage is daunting and he is a very badass boss. Why did they need to show him?Imagine fighting hard to get to him, beating the sub-boss or bosses and then thinking, 'I gotta beat HIM!'

Same goes with Raiden and his charred clothes, leading many to believe he is evil now. Was there any legitimate reason to spoil this major plot twist? (if its true)

And what Boon said yesterday about Smoke/Noob yesterday. I think it would have been a great secret (not a good story, but still a good secret), if they are a sort of combined force. But no, spoilt again.

Have we seen too many fatalities? The trailers have shown MANY fatalities, ok there are two per fighter, but still - i dont want to see soo many. Just a appetizer, not a full meal.

Same with all the death traps, we've seen so many already! I'm sure many of you would've loved to wait until their first fight in the arena, and knock your opponent into the death trap - not knowing what to expect, then being VERY surprised.

So some of you will say "well dont watch the trailers!" But I'm sure as you guys know, if you like coming on MKO it is almost impossible to avoid any new update. There are usualy 6 threads about the same thing, many revealing spoilers in the thread title.

So yeah, I REALLY hope they don't show us anyomre and DEFINITELY not the Sub-boss, I mean, what the hell would be the point? They keep showing us things I feel should be kept secret, but all the things we've seen have been purposely revealed by Midway. So enough is enough, there is just under two months to go until MKD is in stores - I'm sure us MK fans can wait til then without another update. And hopefully that will send our anticipation into overdrive until Oct 4th arrives!

Agree or diagree?

I've said many times before that this stuff never bothers me. It doesn't spoil the game any less because I'm not experiencing these things first hand via the game. But then, that's probably just me.

I guess for others too much info is being released. But you've seen the threads. There are people who want to know these things! You can't please everyone. Some want info, others don't. Unfortunately we have no say it seems in what they release.

Yes that is the problem. The same with which fighters will be in the game, you just can't please everyone. I wasn't a huge fan of the MKDA fighters, but I like the MKD ones. And I'm sure it is the opposite for many others.

BUT, maybe they should regulate when the updates are gonna happen. That way I, and others who dont wanna know, will know when to avoid MKO and other MK websites for a little while, until the excitment of the update has died down. haps one update at the start of every month of something, I dunno...

Maybe

It doesn't bother me at all. I've actually been known to read scripts of movies before seeing them, and it hasn't ruined an experience for me. I've known the end to a many RPG games before actually finishing them.

To me, you may read about a certain character in the game, or even see pictures of them, but it still doesn't change the experience of actually seeing them first hand and playing the game for yourself.

That is just my opinion and I know other people don't like to be spoiled. It's kind of a 'to each their own' situation.

I see your point. But knowing things in fighting and racing games doesn't bother me since you can do the same fights or races over and over and get different results everytime. And actually the only videos they're showing now are of the puzzle and all that stuff. The main thing I have problems with (and it's probably how you feel about them revealing stuff about MK) is when they show too much of a movie in the trailer. They give you all the good stuff and when the movie comes out, there's no suprise and all the cool stuff is old news. *cough* reloaded *cough* Or in adventure games if you see too much it can spoil the suprises. I'm a huge Splinter Cell fan but I haven't watched or read a single thing about Chaos Theory since the stuff from E3 because I want it to all be a suprise. So though it's hard to resist, if you're REALLY not wanting to find out anything new then you'll have to avoid this site for a couple of months because you know that EVERY LITTLE detail that leaks out will show up here.

That's a good idea, but then there will be topics made later even after the hype dies down. There'll be some thread on some characters story and the thread title may most likely give away info you'd tried to avoid, so you could learn something you don't want to at any time. An idea would be to make a seperate board to discuss the latest news stuff, but that won't happen.

Besides, by the time you get back, it'll be time to leave again as another update appears. You could just as easily have someone inform if there's new news at the site before visiting. Then not visit. It's tricky, but as I said, you can't please everyone.

It doesn't bother me at all like Tgrant said it isn't like we are first hand experiencing it it is just information it isn't like we know how to unlockt he characters or where or how to do the death traps or where to locate them. We know what characters there are ya but did we play with them and know there moves and all that good shit?? No so it isn't too much info.

And if you wanna look at it it is your fate don't say i can't resist because you can easily not go to the MK site or any MK site. Soo it is your decision whether you look at it or not but for me too much hasn't been revealed.

And i like your signature kid wit those 4 Jades

Agreed! It's the same for me and exactly what I was getting at in my first post! I know the end to some rpgs and still complete them anyway. Even movies I'll find out the plot and then still watch. With fighting games the experience of encountering a character, unlocking them or playing as them or any of the other stuff isn't ruined by videos or images!

I agree in general when you know too much about a game the surprize isn't there when you play it. I don't mind pics now and again but whole videos is a bit much for me, hence I don't get them grin

We are the same in that aspect I guess. But I also know people who HATE for any part to be spoiled, so I sort of understand... sort of.

And thank you, I edited them from this capcom card game that I keep slipping on the name of.

Threads should at least be marked with *SPOILER* in the title, I think that's only fair for the visitors who want to know nothing outside of the first twelve characters.

As for the Dragon King being revealed, I have no problem with that. Walk past any arcade machine and you'd see Shang and Goro in the opening story screens. Same goes for MK2, you'd see Shao Kahn. MK3, you already knew Shao Kahn was the big bad and you had seen him in the previous game. The Deadly Alliance may have already been revealed and made immediately available, but I don't think that takes away from the bad ass factor of the two most evil men in MK History. The guys that not only beat the hell out of Shao Kahn, but also murdered Liu f'n Kang.

The thing i dont think we are getting is that seeing pictures is wayy didffrent than actually playing for yourself So what if we saw a few pictures and videos.

I agree showing the DK was alittle much but if you don't wanna see it don't look don't worry about other people getting spoiled its about YOURSELF

And also even if they show us hidden characters it isn't like we know how to unlock them or know all their movez and fatalitiez....they wont show us EVERYTHING but just worry about yourself if other people wanna ruin the surprise let them do it.

The first time I saw the fatalities, I thought they were a lot cruel and brutal! I felt like I had a knot in my stomach! Now I'm usued to them...

What about you dudes? Regret seeing the fatvideo as well?

Well lets look at what we DONT know

1. The sub boss
2. How many characters are really playable
3. Sektor, Jax, Reptile, Kitanna ect being playable
4. Does the Deadpool have a deathtrap
5. Every Stage
6. Every Fatality
7. The Intro Movie
8. Liu Kang (Semi Confirmed)
9. Shao Khan (Highly Speculated)
10. Confirmation of Alt Costumes

so though probably %80 of the
unlockable characters have been confirmed , there is still
quite a few things no one knows.

I do like seeing SOME fatalities. I think it is kinda bull that we have seen both fatalities for Mileena. I also agree that the DK should not have been seen yet. But, we do have to keep in mind that the marketing is not so much intended to attract MK fans because we are already fans. Midway wants to attract the next generation of gamers, so the need to show things that will attract them. Fatalities for someone who has never played MK will feel the same in this game as they did for me when I played the original MK in the arcade. That is what keeps MK alive. Would MK be around today if it didn't have fatalities. I doubt it. Street fighter wanna be anyone.

Yes and No. I think that at first it was alright by showing the official trailers and stuff but then it got to be too much. Like when they showd the DK, I didnt wanna se it but I just had to and now its ruined for me. I didnt see the Raiden vids cuz everyone said he turned evil and I didnt wanna ruin that
