How could this possibly be a toss up between Noob and Reptile?

Seriously, besides being Subs bro waht has Noob done for the series, Reptile was THE original secret character, he was one of the three original ninjas, he was the reason MK 1 got tons of quarters in the arcade, Noob was a black Kano in MK3 and was only one of more secret characters in MK2. IMO no contest Reptile should be in over Noob any day unless Boon is so arrogant he has to have HIS character in. Sorry MINION.

Well you know that's all a matter of opinion. I completely agree with you, but I know plenty on this board will disagree and give arguments.

When I think of secret characters, my mind actually always comes to Smoke first. The whole being playable, Ultimate Kombat Kode thing was a big deal back in the day.

Well, technically Noob was in the first game - as sub-zero. Also, what exactly has Reptile done for the plot of the series? I think it is a contest. It'll probably come down to a popularity poll to see which one ends up in the game.

I think one could make a case that Noob Saibot is somewhat iconic in a way. However, of the two, I think Reptile is the better choice.
The semi-reptillian ninja spitting acid is a bit more memorable a character than the living shadow ninja who....um, what is considered Noob's trademark move?
Now, I won't knock Noob Saibot's story...but I think as far as serving or representing the role of tragic villain and/or lower-level henchman, Reptile does it better.

Totally agree, especially about Reptiles roll as the tragic villain.

I agree Noob started as nothing, he was another palette swap character. But as boon became more clever, Noob was thought out in terms of storyline, and suited the bill perfect for the original Sub-Zero's death. How else to explain what happened, and why the new Sub-Zero had a scar over his eye. Scorpion has been the BADASS for so many years. I think having noob being noob, gives him some standout. Not many of the "ninja looking" characters were actually in control of themselves at one point. Hence Reptile serving Shang, & Rain & Ermac, serving Kahn. Noob is destined to be what he desires most. The person responsible for his Brothers death. For years it was Scorp and Sub. But now we have these two. Noob should stick around imo, Thus showing if he will kill sub, or infact, Turnout for the better.

I like Reptile better but Noob is Sub-Zero's brother, it'd make more sense to have him to add to the plot.

But them both in as secret bosses.

How can you have a secret boss?
On topic, Reptile is much more iconic. He has been around for longer, is more memorable, and has a larger fan base than Noob Saibot. I love Noob, but he is just not as iconic as Reptile.

Im sorry to every Noob fan, and I want you to know that I like Noob alot more than Reptile.. Noobs character has even evolved much better than Reptile.. BUT Reptile is a more Iconic character..
For MK vs DC I think Reptile should be included instead of Noob.. HOWEVER, In the next mortal kombat game.. the next "real" mortal kombat game, I would rather have Noob included instead of Reptile.

Actually, I still love as a fan, Stryker as character. I always have. But i no he's not big in MK. I realize that. I've always known. But Noob tbh is a character i really connected with in MKA. Why not sooner? MKD he was not on his own. But in MKA he had ALOT of depth. And i think that's what really drew me in. I started playing as him alot when MKA came out. And just using him as much as i have in the game. I became really attached to the character. Now when i play MKA, I cant even imagine playing a game w/o him. He's become 2nd hand nature to me.
Not to mention his ALT outfit, Those metal studs embedded into his leather, SEX. I love his edward scissorhands leather type of look.
Here's a cool fact. In MKD's game. Noob's 3D Model's shoulders looked Hexagon. But when you fight him in the KONQUEST, You're fighting the IMPROVED model they added to MKA. Weird huh? Little sumn i noticed along the way.

honestly, I see Reptile having a stronger chance. Noob is cool but Reptile is more iconic to MK then Noob is.
If there was no "newer good Sub-Zero" I might think otherwise but since the fans have fallen in love with the current Sub, that kind of tarnishes Noob's C.Sub history a little bit, so in that sense he's not as iconic because we've had this sub-zero(current) for a while now.
Just my view on that.
Reptile has been in MK since MK1 since day one and in more games then Noob has been in.

Depth, meaning he was alot better solo then he was being co-oped with smoke. It showed off his specials, his own specials, not tag team, and actual fighting ability being alone.
The Troll hammer BTW, Owns.

Since the argument is between who's more Iconic, Noob doesn't stand much of a chance. Ask casual gamers who Noob is from Mortal Kombat and I really don't think they'd have any idea. Reptile was in MK2, the most well known game, and in the movie. So as cool as Noob is, (armageddon move set excepted) Reptile wins. IMO
0
Yeah, seriously as far as the more iconic..Reptile wins this easily. I do think Noob is a cooler character though myself personally

i would go with reptile because he's more important to the mk series and he's just reptile
