How would your select screen look like?

At this point in development I think the most interested part is what characters will return and what wont. For now we have 11 confirmed characters. Lets say that the select screen of MKD will end up with a number of 25 character, this is a fair amount IMO. Also let us assume they will fill the grid with 8 new characters.

CONFIRMED CHARACTERS
* Mileena * Baraka
* Scorpion * Sub-Zero
* Ermac * Noob Saibot
* Sindel * Nightwolf
* Kenshi

NEW CHARATERS
* Hotaru * Ashrah
* NEW * NEW
* NEW * NEW
* NEW * NEW

This would leave exactly another 8 spots for unconfirmed returning characters. Here are the ones I would select.

KUNG LAO – He was one of my favorites in MKDA and now with Liu Kang gone he is the only monk in the game and may be the next champion.

KITANA – She is IMO the most unique character MK ever had and has the coolest weapons of them all. They need to improve her moves tho.

JOHNNY CAGE – A lot of people don’t like him but for some reason I always did. And especially now that Boon said every returning characters gets all his classic moves back I bet that Cage gets his ‘Balls Breaker’. Cant wait to try that one out lol.

For the remaining spots I would like to see:
* Sonya * Jax
* Raiden * Mavado
* Kano

HIDDEN CHARACTERS
* LIU KANG * JADE
* NEW * NEW

Now if you could fill these spots who would you choose?

I would like to see Rain, Kabal, Sektor back in some fashion and be playable.


However... As long as we ALREADY have Sub-Zero and Baraka. I'm happy. Ed Boon could release MK:D with the already confirmed characters and I'd be happy as hell.

I would like to see Shaokahn,Kabal,a revamped Stryker,human smoke,and the rest new.Also I would love for the character select screen to be very very creepy and dark.I also want to see the characters body like practicing martial art styles when you put the cursor over them instead of them just standing there or doing nothing at all.

I don't want 8 new people. I want Rain(new look), Smoke(new look), Kabal, Shao Kahn, Quan Chi, a couple new characters, Raiden, Movado, Drahmin, and Reptile.

i agree with thread maker, id like to see johnny cage back too.

heres what i'd add to mk deception cast of characters:

Rain
Johnny Cage
Smoke (preferably human)
Kano (love to see him fight baraka, the 2 slashing guys of mk)
Kabal
Mavado
Cyrax (only if sektor is with him)
Sektor

and id rather not have sonya and jax no more....

Im guessing that they will end up with about 25 characters, and if they use 8 new charaters (like in MKDA) there are still spots for a lot of returning characters. It could be more then 25 of course but i dont think it will be.

I hope that it can have downloadable content which the select screenw could change (extra slots) when you download characters and other things

The problem with the MKDA select screen was the music. It was HORRIBLE! Since MKD is to MKDA what MK2 was to MK they could and should reuse the select screen music from MK2 (which had the best select screen music out of all the MK). Or at least come up with something reminiscent...

I wouldn't mind the originally designed select screen from MK:DA - 2 rows of mugshots along the bottom with a portrait and character stats above them.

Looked great IMO because it reminded me of the arcades

I agree, but MK2 also had some other great music. I also hope the character pics will be better and larger, they will ofcourse get smaller with more characters but they had plenty of room in MKDA. The MKDA select screen did not had that MK look. MK2 had the best one.

that one was my favourite too....looking back at those pics...i wish they did do it that way
I think it should be Sektor and Cyrax (maybe Cyrax could try and convince his robot "brother" to become good), Smoke (human would be cool), Rain, maybe another god of something like Fire or Earth and some new ninja as long as I have the ability to almost create my own charcter I'm happy also if I can use other charcters fatalities and moves

I want the select screen with loads of boxes with people's heads in and loads of boxes for unlocking.

My little sister played mk5 and was annoyed you couldn't see the alternative costume without selecting it. They should sort this.

Like to see most these characters make a return as well, only don't have half of the characters be unlockable like in MKDA. I hated the fact that you had to find Raiden's Koffin before you could use him as a character. And if this is the case, please let it be that if you find any costume, and not just the primary you can use the character.

They should have question mark boxes on the character select screen for the real hidden characters and silhouttes like in MKDA for those that you can buy in the krypt or easily unlock some other way.

I would like every character back and a bunch of new ones. 1/3 of the characters should be secret but not in the crypt. Also to fit character pictures when you highlight them,and still have alot of characters, there should be pages of characters, not one big one. Last,they sould have about 40 slots on another page for "creat-a-character" people.

We can dream, but thats all they will ever be. Its too much to hope that they will make every character playable. But if they did, id worship MK forever.

That would be great, and maybe flip those question mark boxes from time to time just like they did with smoke in MK3.
